Re: Front Vents on Mobile Suits
That only applies to suits operating in an atmosphere, since that sort of cooling works by forcing a constant supply of cooler air over the radiator while the vehicle is in motion. Even MS designed primarily to fight in space where there is no air-cooling can be seen with them (like the space-type G...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III
Yeah, the range isn't terribly impressive on its own because it's Mars' gravity that's doing most of the work. Hitting so accurately with them is an impressive technical feat but aside from the nature of the projectile it's fundamentally no different from that Gundam staple, the colony drop. Also, I...

...Oh, and Iok suffers a fatal case of diarrhea or something. Best. Ending. Ever. But more seriously, at this point Gaelio and Julieta are the most likely avenue for any kind of immediate reform within Gjallarhorn and a 'good guy victory' in anything beyond a moral sense. Mika could go on a one man...

Re: The charm of semi-canon mechs
Yeah. For example, Code Geass teased us with the prospect of up to a dozen Arthurian-themed Knightmares operated by the Rounds but between unseen members and ones that didn't get to show off their machines we got less than half that number, until side material filled a gap or two in for us. Plus mor...

It would be horribly amusing for him to have escaped a richly deserved death at the Hashmal's hands only to get killed by its tail blade wielded by Barbatos. Pretty please?

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II
One thing that makes me wonder if the description of Bael's swords was a typo (aside from the only other yellow blades we've seen being called out as a different kind of rare metal than that found in MS frames) is that the swords are supposed to be 'unbreakable'. Which doesn't completely match MS fr...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II
Like I said, the ease with which parts can be swapped around on the Gundam Frames can be as much of a headache as it is a cool design feature sometimes when you just want to know what the things looked like three hundred years ago. If we're cataloguing Gundams we know the original state of, we can a...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II
Barbatos 4th is supposed to be how it originally looked, though we have no clue what weaponry it might have originally carried. The gauntlet it uses at first and the modified arm that it mounts to were part of its final loadout though. The manual says the gauntlet is assumed to be original equipment...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II
Yeah, having an exposed bridge on a spaceship that's intended for combat doesn't really make a lot of sense as it provides an obvious target that contains all the sensitive C&C systems and the command crew and it doesn't provide any real benefit. Well, other than providing nice windows which the...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II
I imagine they'll do some some MSV based on season two material once the show is done, then they'll put out a book. Speaking of MSV, it's actually getting some more gunpla love with a Vual kit due out in a couple of months. Did that story end? Because the last I heard of it the Astaroth was still mi...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk
We know the short railcannons are designed for firing on the move since their description in the Option Set tells us so. The description of the standard cannons says the transformation allows Flauros to devote more of its reactor output to powering the things and provides extra stability when firing...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk
It's even been done in Gundam before, albeit with beam weapons: Deathscythe Hell's twin scythe in the TV series had a thruster on the reverse side to improve its swing speed, though given that beam weapons sliced through most things like tissue paper it was almost as redundant as the second blade.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk
Still not really seeing it. That the joints in the smaller unit's arms have some vague similarities to the Gundam Frame's elbow joints doesn't mean that we're looking at one, just that it might have been produced alongside that frame and taken some shared styling elements for its internals. If the a...

Yeow, that's a big weapon. Also, if you look you can read that the card gives its name: Helmwige Linker. Valkyrie Frame confirmed. Wonder if there is/was a second unit called Helmwige Recht.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk
Look a few posts back and you'll see we've already been discussing those pictures since last week. MS A feels likely to be a Teiwaz design, MS B could be another Valkyrie Frame.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk
I know the feeling and I'd normally read that as Crow as well, but I encountered the same rendering in a game I was playing (as a spell) and assumed it was that, only for the descriptive text and graphics to make it obvious it was Claw. What made it especially fun is that there was a character whose...

Probably not on the part of the Japanese, that can also be romanized as 'Claw'.E08 wrote:The weapon in the shield is known as 'Pile Crow' ( パイルクロウ, typo?)
