Surprised that no one posted this. It looks quite different from the sample from before.

Re: Known MSV-R so far

I just want to say how much better a Salamis/Nelson would look with a stripe. There needs to be more ships with stripes in Gundam.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II

Am I the only one has the urge to punch something everytime Katoki "designs" a variant with a german suffix? There is also some mentioning of Full Frontal's Gaera Doga in that picture at the end. The game is going to include the Sinanju theft scenario penned by Fukui. I guess the guy is mi...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I personally think that they left out those details becuase they don't want to offend potential audience of the series itself. It does get an international release after all . If they really wanted to showcase this, it could have been done easily in the first 4 minute of the show. Even in the novel ...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I felt like episode 4 addressed those aspects (even though half of it was just an ample serving of mech porn), which was why it didn't bother me. You can't do everything at once with every episode, and I felt episode 4 did its role in the series, which was bring to the fore the broader themes of th...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

You should probably wait until the end. Although I myself didn't like how episode 4 had turned out and where it is heading. My hope is that it won't keep the bad parts in the novel and leave out the good parts. That would be the worst of both worlds.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II

I don't enjoy the show. It's a needless entry to ramp up model sales written by someone with a post-WWII Imperial Japan agenda (it's true). The problem is they pass off a poor excuse to appease the average person but someone who actually does fill in the blanks realizes it's house of cards. It topp...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

Frankly Oshii is completely delusional if he thinks that most anime is not much more than a glorified toy commercial. I am pretty sure he is aware of that. But it doesn't mean anime have to be derivative just because it's selling toys. If you read the link provided on ANN, his main complaint is act...

That's hardcore passion for you right there, and the result is beautiful. If people want to point at his hard work and say it's just pandering to otaku, it's their loss. I see a good possibility of him being the composer for the Origin when it gets going. I agree that his OST is probably the best t...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I can see where he is coming from. I think he meant artistically how shows are not trying present new ideas or present ideas in new ways. As an example, Coordinators, Innovators are more or less copies of "Newtype" to various degree, with Coordinators having some potential in being a diffe...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I actually think Riddhe's got decent characterization at that moment, and it's not at all about "showing banagher up" like flamingtroll mentioned, but that's just my opinion. I can't say I know anything about his "problematic characterization" in the novel, having not read it, b...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

Juagg!! That aside, I'm thinking I'll have to go read the novels myself eventually because this episode really felt like stuff was left out. It's not so much about cutting down as about poor organziation. For example, Loni's character was completely changed from the novel, so whatever development i...

The Gabthley has always been listed with 4 beam sabers, those 2 extras might be situated in the legs. The 4 beam sabers were always there stored inside the "sleeve". http://mahq.net/mecha/gundam/z/lineart/rx-110-beamsaber.jpg The beam saber actually comes out from the beam gun. That looks...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II

As much as I enjoyed Byarlant's pwnage, I think they over did it and took the focus away from unicorn and delta plus vs Shambloo. Hearsay about the manga says the pilot was an ex-Titans who also piloted the Byarlant before during the Gryps War. On Banshee again. The claw remined me of Bound Doc's cl...

The Japanese Wikipedia gives the Masurao a kanji'd name (磨修羅生)

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I don't think Banagher has been too "Kirarized". He might be Kiraish in personality, but not in action, thus far at the least (here is the hope that they will change that awful bit in the ending). He depends on NTD almost entirely to save him and kills or injures the wrong people when usin...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

Agreed. They should either make it happen entirely in Australia or entirely in Africa. The only problem might be the different geology of the Australian deserts. Maybe a bit different from the "homage" imagery point of view. But they get dust storms all just the same.
