Re: Lasers in Gundam

Yes they are. Didn't you see my post? the minovsky paritcles have high negative and positive charges that interfere with metals and destroy small circuits an other stuff. Look at my first post. That wil explain it. None of the text you copied and pasted from Wikipedia discusses their effect on lase...

Re: Pre-OYW Zaku training program

Gundam the Origin has Char and Garma attending a training academy circa UC0074. There's a campus layout on page six of Volume 11 for reference. It's the "Space Forces Government Training Academy". The story starts out with them (and other prospective pilots) running laps, playing basketba...

Re: Difference between Japan and Western Fans

If anything, I'd say the OVAs have a bigger role to play in the Western fandom's apparent hatred of Newtypes. Nonsense. Wing was the flagship product that brought Gundam into America (if not the entire Western world). Anything involving the UC universe, be it NewTypes or Minovsky particles or what ...

For what it's worth, I suppose it's also possible that the Japanese fandom actually likes Gundam, the 1979 TV series and/or its movies, more than the Western fandom.
I blame Wing and about two decades of ignorance for that phenomenon.

Re: Pre-OYW Zaku training program

Training programs existed all right -- I believe under the name "Mobile Training Battalion." The timeline on Gundam Official gives its creation as sometime late in UC 0075. What I'm actually looking for is more like a course syllabus detailing the training itself, and whether or not any r...

Pre-OYW Zaku training program

My search fu has turned up nothing, but I have a question (or two) of some relevance that I'd love an answer to, hence this topic. 1. Prior to the breakout of the OYW, it's known that Zeon had a Mobile Suit training academy(ies) in Side 3. Given this, then a training program(s) must have been in pla...

Re: World Cup

I totally agree. Germany didn't play like the same team that brutalized Argentina in just the game prior. I am sorely disappointed, and must now aim for 2014 for vindication.

Re: The Official Sign In/Out Thread

As the UC Gundam universe has returned to us, so have I. It's been a long time, and for a while I thought this site had closed up shop, but Kishiria and Shadowcell showed me the error of my logic, and Gundam Unicorn's 1st episode heralds a new interest in the Universal Century, which has always been...

*blinks* Why are we even talking about spikes? This topic was supposed to be about the Zaku II shield. Cross-comparison of the Zaku II 's shoulders, as well as the change from the Zaku I 's handheld with spikes to the Zaku II 's shoulder-mount without spikes. The topic hasn't strayed anywhere excep...

Why bother shoulder-ramming a ship's bridge when kicking would work just as well? Wasn't there a bit of animation during the Battle of Abowaku that showed a Zeon suit doing a Miroslav Klose on a Fed ship's bridge tower?

Mech: Don't get angry; this is a Newtype mobile suit. You're good but
you're in a little over your head. Only certain types of freaks can
pilot this thing properly. I hear they're going to assign it to a pilot
on White Base.

That's a transcript quote.

That was George RR Martin's favorite from him as well.

Rama was epic genius, but I think my favorite from him was Songs From Distant Earth.
