Before a friend of mine moved, he lent me all of the English translation of Five Star Stories. Unfortunately, I had to hurry and read the story itself so I didn't have time to read the technical pages and whatnot.

I'd have to say Macross due to a general distaste of Harmony Gold I can't particularly explain.

Once you start getting into Macross, I really suggest 7. It's actually my first Macross show, and I rather enjoyed it.
