Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Mecha Thread Mk I
Do we have any information on the polearm blade used by Olcott? I'm curious if there's any special qualities to it such being a vibrating weapon or some superior cutting edge. Available info is that Olcott's Prodoros is armed with a heat lance. Well that's interesting. Now that I think about it I t...

Re: Photon Frame
(I am slightly worried by the remark immediately after that which suggests that when a photon battery of this class is activated it can occasionally generate micro-black holes.) So if the G-Self is destroyed we may get an Ideon like cataclysmic event? Well I guess it depends on what size they...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I
Good point I had forgotten about the time discrepancy. Hmm. Anyways, I've been leaning towards the hypothesis that Eri was transferred out of Aerial after achieving a Permet Score high enough to override & remotely control the Darilbalde's AI bits, possibly downloaded into Prospera's helmet beca...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Mecha Thread Mk I
I really love the wide array of mecha designs that have been appearing. Although one of the ones shown on the ground looks suspiciously like a reuse of a Gustav Karl. The shoulder weapon placement on the earth raid reminded me a lot of some of my favorite Armored Core designs as well. Do we have any...

Ah, it's been too long since I've rewatched Seed. I had thought that Aegis had limited flight while transformed but I may have misremembered.John-Luck Pickerd wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 4:20 pm I dont think Aegis can fly either. In Seed Aegis was using the Guul subflyer to keep itself in the air.

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I
Late the party, I didn't realize the series had restarted until a few weeks after it started airing. Finally caught up both in the show and reading through the threads here. Both Ryujin and Set Kaiba have provided some detailed analysis, perspectives and speculation which I've enjoyed reading. A few...

Re: Aile or Sword Calamity?
Sorry, I meant heavy bombardment. The manual say its issue is to adapting artillery-focus unit into flyable. Ahhh, that makes a lot of sense. I'm guessing the huge energy draw from the Calamity's weapons such would make flight difficult. Although, Aegis also had a Scylla cannon but had the advantag...

Re: Aile or Sword Calamity?
It's interesting they mention having a hard time making Calamity fly due to its weight, iirc both Raider and Forbidden have a very similar weight of around 85 tons.

Re: Railgun Type Weapons
Thanks for the information on the RGM-79F Railguns. So if they were repurposed Naval Weapons does that mean the older Salamis or its predecessor was using railguns prior to the introduction of Mega Particle Cannons?

Re: Railgun Type Weapons
Regarding railguns in UC is there any information out there regarding the railgun / railcannon used by the Desert GM and the Land Combat GM from MSV? Both share the RGM-79F model number. I recall hearing that railguns were developed by Yashima industries as a stopgap while the Federation was still m...

It's been a longtime since I've read Starship troopers, I realize I've never seen the Studio Nue adaptation so I'll have to check it out and see how it compares with the book.

Interesting, do you recall which source describes Psycommu waves as density changes of Minovsky particles? Ah I now I understand what you mean regarding regular sensors picking up when Minvosky Particles have reached combat density. Interesting theory on Funnels/Bits only working for NT patterns the...

Re: Anti Newtype weapons, systems and MS
Biosensor is very unstable and not really suitable for combat. I liken it to putting the unstable part of cyber NTs to the machine but the damage potential against the pilot is still there(see Kamille) I don't know it seemed to work pretty well for Scirocco and Kamille. In supplemental material it ...

Re: Anti Newtype weapons, systems and MS
Ah gotcha, yeah I'm familiar with all the main beats there I just didn't know if Gihren or perhaps Kycillia had any specific propaganda regarding Newtypes, since Newtypes themselves were treated as something of a superstition prior to and during the OYW. I suppose awareness of Newtypes was limited j...

EP 32 - Burning (God) Gundam vs Neros Gundam Finally a chance to see Zebra Gundam fight, by polevaulting into the air and hiding behind its shield reminds me of several of the shield decoy tricks Amuro used in the original series. We also get to see Burning Finger used at a range, apparently long en...

Re: Anti Newtype weapons, systems and MS
Master Archive doesn't describe Dr. Kurst Moses as hating Newtypes. It's not discussed directly, but to me it seems likely that his growing fear of Marion Welch's abilities was shaped in part by the Principality of Zeon's own rhetoric about Newtypes. Perhaps hate was a strong word, but the fear and...

Re: Anti Newtype weapons, systems and MS
Interesting, I first came across the Blue Destiny in the 2000s and I wish I had had a sega saturn to play it. Back then as I recall the Dr was 'Chuust' Moses, but I think Kurst is more fitting (and funny) name. The original manga sidestory was pretty decent, but unfortunately was cancelled before it...
