Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

My thoughts on the finale and series as a whole. Put simply, I am disappointed. With the numerous plots, rivalries, and backgrounds of the characters on both sides I was hoping for a finale with more ‘punching power.’ Instead what we got was…serviceable(?). It wasn’t bad or terrible, it was okay. Co...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Fighters Try Anime Thread Mk-V

I thought the OVA was fun, a harmless romp in the GBF/Try universe. Although I gotta say, the kid's reaction to when the little girl disappeared was hysterical. That reaction alone made the silly-harem antics worth it. At least for me. Although I wonder if we will see mecha from IBO in more followup...

"I'll be you guy's 'cat'astrophic repaws team." Oh dear god!!!! Dead. I'm dead. RIP SOMA TAOZI She liked cats and puns. EDIT: On a more serious note, anyone else feel the 'singing to uplift the civilian's spirits via an impromptu concert' is a little overdone? Sheryl did the exact same thi...

Re: The Rains of Castamere

Since it has been a couple years, and considering the 'explosive' events of the last episode this season. I thought it would be fitting to post The Light of the Seven. A song that is sure to spread like wildfire.

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Macross has never had any shortage of silly. Frontier had plenty of it, and it's no worse than guys flying jets with guitar shaped controllers shooting speakers at things. Never said Macross was never silly just this takes the cake. I was thrown off by the singing/flying Idols the first time I watc...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Watched the first episode and my opinion still stands regarding the idols flying around. It is out of left-field especially after just finishing Frontier, a little disconcerting, and very VERY silly. However since I knew it was coming I was able to get into it a little better and once the second son...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Correct me if I am wrong, but does the way Lafter and Merribit talked this episode imply that Naze doesn't actually have a harem after all or at least it isn't as big as his entire ship? As they said, they are girls who have "no where else to go" so they join up with Turbines. And Naze jus...

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Re: 0096

Also, it was weird seeing how during OVAs 5 and 6 suddenly everyone is taking a ridiculous "no killing policy", but by OVA 7 the Neo Zeon forces are wiped out largely by the undersupplied Nahel Argama's forces. Everyone? You mean just Banagher after Loni was killed? Besides him the only o...

Re: Full Metal Panic (new anime adaptation)

Gonzo animation was garbage Seriously? I know I am doing exactly what you want by reacting to such a comment, but are you even trying at this point? I disagree with what you said, but since you just made a blanket statement with no reason or explanation behind it, I have nothing to disagree with yo...

Re: Code Geass director has a new project: "Active Raid"

I am enjoying Active Raid quite a bit. I have a weakness for stories with...shall we say, Scatterbrained story telling (Baccano and Kekkai Sensen being other, more extreme, examples) and Active Raid fits right in there. Unfortunately for me it seems many in the anime community have dropped Active Ra...

Welp, I cried. Maybe I have just gotten soft over the years but I feel that
Spoiler
Fumitan's death
was very well done.

I take it the Maiden of Revolution was Joan of Arc? Or was it someone else? Anyone want to speculate?

but the singing to control their weapons...and... I just dont know how I can watch this Not sure what the problem is. We've had mind controlled weapons in Macross since Plus. This is how I see it, using the singing to control weapons is so extreme and it takes the "singing as a weapon" id...

Re: Frozen Teardrops ends officially!

I don't...really know anyone on here who truly enjoys them, save Balofo, and he likes them for the fights. Basically it goes back and does what Destiny did to the original cast...magnified by ten. This wouldn't be quite so bad, just really stinky fanfiction, if it weren't that the plot itself simpl...

Re: Frozen Teardrops ends officially!

This thread is full of haters (I hope a Colony drops on you jerks)... all I gotta say is, Gundam Wing is a lot of things, but most definitely it has always been a wild ride in terms of plot. I'm looking forward to further future content (especially artwork). As someone who has never read Frozen Tea...

Re: Fafner: Exodus

Yeah Maya doesn't need a God mech...her skills are such that she can make due without a Salvator Model. And I appreciate someone who gets by solely on skill, without the special powers. Seriously, the way she just cleaned house on Dustin's team was amazing this episode, but now it begs the question,...

Re: Fafner: Exodus

going back to the episode, i found the camp transfer sequence...kinda off... I found that stuff fine, great even. It moved the story along and considering how the series is nearing the end, it is good they are bringing everyone together again, wrapping up the Exodus story-line and showing us the re...

Since I gushed last episode over how adorable the Rescue Lucifer scene was...Lucifer's passing cut me just as deep as Casval and Artesia's mother death. I will miss that adorable little pumpkin. I also wish the whole episode just involved Casval and Artesia riding around the Texas Colony, getting in...

Re: Fafner: Exodus

To be honest, I didn't get into Fafner until when Canon and Michio were introduced...I was interested in where the story was going after Shouko's tragic end, but it wasn't until we started seeing the outside world did I start seeing Fafner as something special. It was something I watched because I w...

I knew this show would be right up your alley Lightning! You are certainly enjoying the first half far more than I did. That being said, I didn't HATE the first half of Argevollen and had high expectations for where the story would go after its midway point. Thus I am excited for your thoughts on Ar...
