Apparently a new Gundam designed for Amuro?
Is that from Yanase Takayuki (of Gundam 00)?

Design seems to be a break from contemporary machines of the time.

Re: AoZ2: Rebels Against Time Mechanics

You may wanna re-read my blurb, chief. It's not THE MK-II's beam rifle. Ah, right. I got a bit sloppy in reading the Japanese. So, they based it off the Mk-II's rifle and extended the barrel and stock. There is some funkiness in the captions for sure, like how Advanced Hazel's "a" was cut...

Re: AoZ2: Rebels Against Time Mechanics

So, a list of familiar parts or technology: - Barzam-style rearskirt - Kampfer-style skirt with thruster - sole thruster and visor similar to the Advanced Hazel - flexible thrusters, those big ones on its back, similar to the Hazel's T-booster (tri-booster, apparently) - backpack and multi-latch fro...

Definitely need a bigger scan for the page. There are a few characters I can't make out, but I do see 'rear skirt' and 'Barzam' written there.

Re: Gundam Unicorn Soundtrack

All I can say is, welcome to the world of Japanese pricing =)
Majority of the albums released in/from Japan are at this price-point, and I've never seen any indication that the business model is going to change any time soon, in my five years of importing.

The listing on CDJapan, my usual retailer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp8ywf-Vvx4&NR=1&t=1m57s I'm wondering if anyone can help me ID this mecha Series, the Katakana in the title seem to romanize as Ro-Sa-Ra-N (I am uncertain If I did this correctly or not) but I found nothing via searching. Actually, Ro-u-ra-n is what you're lo...

Re: AoZ2: Rebels Against Time Mechanics

Also, considering the involvement of Anaheim and the Gundam Development Project, anyone else hopes that AoZ2 could provide an opportunity for the Gerbera Tetra Kai to finally appear? That'd be nice. The Wagtail's upgraded bits already look like some variant of the GP01Fb parts. They could also expl...

Re: Star Driver

THIS IS GLORIOUS! Yes, it was glorious. Sony's been running around the whole day taking them new uploads down as soon as they pop up though, both on Youtube and Niconico. Not that's it's having any effect, mind you. That aside, the story looks like it's finally moving somewhere, and the seemingly-i...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVII

If green and red GN particles are not compatible (as in usable only on specified weapon/system tuned to their characteristics), then it might be the reason why CB didn't use Tau drives in S2. Even though Tau drives are abundant back then (to the point it's disposable), CB insisted on using particle...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVII

So in this one scene when Solbraves retreated with Ptolemy, one Solbraves pilot (the female one) thanked Lasse for "particles supply". If what she meant by that is recharging their GN Tau Drives with Ptolemy's particles, is that OK? I mean, supplying green particles to Tau Drives, are the...

Re: Gundam Unicorn's animation, revolutionary for mecha anim

Haven't quite been able to distinguish which of the nice lightings have been done by CG or by hand, but the attention to technical details has been nothing short of impressive, for the most part. In the Kshatriya v. Jegan battle, if you slow the framerate to a quarter(!) or less, the bits actually h...

If you can't see beyond the visuals, you're definitely missing out on the good "computer enhanced crap coming out these days," and missing the whole point of the medium.

Re: Eureka Seven volumes difficult to locate?

Think you're a little late for the singles. Not sure about b&m stores or Amazon, but I was comtemplating the singles collection a year ago because Rightstuf (am I allowed to mention retailers?) had the individual volumes in the bargain bin. Even then, volume 11 had already sold out, so it never ...

Re: Star Driver

I disagree with the relationship to Gurren Lagann and Tenga Tonpa, Gainax style is too more action packed that Stardriver. In fact you could tell the SD story without the Cybodies. I would believe that the mecha portion of the story is bait to catch viewers! Perhaps style as in mecha/fight's visual...

Re: why do alot of people seem to hate Evangelion?

I love the giant cyborg/organic robot concept, love the vultures, like the overused-but-perhaps-meaningless symbolisms (pretentious, but it gives the mind some space to wonder and play), but have grown to hate the over-merchandising/franchising. Seriously, I think the merchandising is the only reaso...

Re: Star Driver

Initially dismissed this as a mecha/harem show without even watching, until I got too bored one day. Definitely over-the-top, with very similar styles to Aim for the Top 2 and Gurren Lagaan. The eyecatch reminded me of Top/Top2. They're clearly going for some symbolism, what with the glyphs and the ...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk I

My understanding of that scene is that the Unicorn merely stopped accelerating. If you'll notice the background is still moving, so there's still relative motion going on. Yeah, did notice that, but it felt to me like it wasn't moving quite as fast as if acceleration was more than zero, so I assume...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk I

Been re-watching the 2nd episode's battle scene for the umpteenth time, and realised that in the fight against Sinanju, I'm not sure how the Unicorn decelerates itself in the forward direction. I'm referring to the point after Angelo fires at the Unicorn, Banagher's normal suit 'bloats' at the thigh...
