Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Yeah that’s definitely true. Add that to the list under “wasted potential” for the series...

...which is probably a fairly long list.

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

I will admit that the one thing Delta got right was the soundtrack with tracks too darn catchy to ignore like Ikenai Borderline which I still have in my iPod. Oh GODS yes. Between that one and Bokura no Senjō , I dunno which is my favorite...Actually, I'd call it a three-way tie between t...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

00 Sky HWS is wasted befor the end of this episode. It make sense in context that they would give Riku some extra firepower, but shouldn't they at least have him shot Randy down with it? I legit cheered when the 00-Sky HWS got wasted. As much as I think the 00-Sky is the single ugliest Gundam I hav...

Did'nt knew Kawamori was involved with Eureka 7.
He did the mech designs. On a related note, Charles and Ray Beams? A married couple who pilot identical machines - his is blue, hers is red. Definitely NOT a coincidence.

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

Also, if you look closely, the Dijeh's not in space. It looks to be in the same snowy environment as the Gustav Karls and the brown Jegan. Okay, that would make a lot more sense. Anyway, took another look at the teaser on my computer now that I'm home so I could see it larger, and it does look like...

Did I just see a Dijeh in space? I always thought the standard Dijeh was exclusively a ground-combat mobile suit

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

A while back when I did that custom GenoSaurer(see bottom of page 11), one thing I wanted to do that I didn't at the time was to also do a version that equipped the Berserk Führer's Twin Buster Claws, just to see how it looked. I finally did get around to doing that, and while I was at it I also did...

Re: New Feature-Length Live-Action Gundam Movie Incoming

Kamille designing the Gundam Mk.II, etc. Kamille did NOT design the Gundam MkII, his father did. IIRC his mother was involved in metallurgical development for the Titans and might've played a part in the MkII's development(unsure), but it was designed principally by Franklin Bidan. Kamille's only i...

Re: The Anchor's Original Form

Isn't F8 series are commercial mass production models? So F89 won't be Proto F90 but more of Glorified Jegan, possibly the last from that series too. I don't know about that. Doing a cursory search, I can't find any F8# model numbers among the mobile suits developed by SNRI. There's the F70 Cannon ...

Re: The Anchor's Original Form

Yeah that looks pretty terrible. Apart from that, the fact that they chose to shoehorn it in as another retconned predecessor when there were other possibilities bugs me. Could’ve made it anything from F92 to F96, or even F98. Hell, they could even have placed it in Anaheim’s Silhouette Formula seri...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

So I have a question. I found the Immortal One standing around with two other guys waiting for the Battle to start...and I don't recognize the uniform they're wearing at all.
Link
So...what uniform IS that? Or is it even a previously seen uniform at all?

Re: The revival of Core Block Technology in late U.C.

Heck, if we’re talking about weapons integrated into the main body of the mobile suit, you can arguably go all the way back to the OYW - Guntank, Guncannon, and I’m fairly certain there were multiple Zaku Cannon variants that fit the bill

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Mecha Thread Mk I

The only thing left of FF’s Sinanju as of the end of Ep7, IIRC, was its cockpit block/sphere. So an entire internal frame and reactor would’ve had to be built no matter what.
Far likelier that this is an entirely separate mobile suit, either built by the Sleeves or, more likely, provided to them

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Mecha Thread Mk I

The “Dark Hound” had AGE-2 Normal-style wing binders on its shoulders, and its waist was the AGE-II Magnum’s rather than the stock AGE-2DH. Apart from that and the custom Lancer, I also noticed it seemed to have some sort of retractable blade in its shield, which I think went unused, unfortunately. ...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Mecha Thread Mk I

I don't actually care about the presence of the Core Fighter per se. What bothers me is this: I know it's supposed to be a testbed and all, but what nitwit thought it was a good idea to build it with no armor whatsoever on its upper limbs and no armored cockpit hatch ? I mean you could put some turk...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

Okay, someone is gonna have to, at some point, remind that kid that TV Tropes lies. Throwing your sword, while it looks cool...is a stupid idea . Even if you have a whole bunch of extra ones. Though hopefully he’s learned that lesson after this first bout. Overall, good start to the series, I think....

just cut your losses and skip it from future viewings ultimately classifying episode 11 as the official ending. Yeah, I typically stop at Ep11 as well when I watch 08th MS Team , because to me that episode feels like the finale, and I like where and how it ends. 12 feels like a tacked-on afterthoug...

Re: UC: Beam Weapon Projectile Speed

Guys, Char told us how he dodged beam attacks in early episodes of MSG, he looked at the rifle itself and avoided being in the direct front of it. As long as one doesn't stay in the direct front of the rifle, one is very not likely to get hit by a shot from it(unless you run into a shot yourself, b...

Re: UC: Beam Weapon Projectile Speed

Right. The first example that comes to my mind is when Gundam-boy jumps the Throne trio at one point late in the first series. To go back to my last couple of posts, the main question is: what is causing the Thrones ' sensors to go off? If it's the actual beam attack being fired , then the three bei...

Re: UC: Beam Weapon Projectile Speed

In animation, we don't see many grunt pilots successfully evade a mid-range beam attack. They're less successful when it's from a battleship. True, but as a general rule, in most series the majority of grunt pilots probably couldn't pilot a mobile suit through New York harbor without smacking headf...
