Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Anime Thread Mk I

There's something that doesn't quite add up in episode four. I was re-watching the episode and paused when it came to the Granada mayor dying in an accident. In the article it says that he was 52 years old and was born in Granada. Since we don't have any sort of completion date for Granada, we do ha...

Re: Random Gundam Tech Tidbits

Well the problem with the Zanzibar that we see in the manga is that it is classified as a "Zanzibar Kai." This name, though, is not repeated in the Official Guide for the series, so go figure. It's ripe with craziness as usual as the MS capacity of it is said to be 4, which is a step up from the one...

That blog is bunk. "oh a friend of a friend who has a cousin whose neighbors wife dogsits knows so and so but I can't name them...". Please. They're stirring the pot with speculation.

Re: Mysterious Alloy - Universal Duralumin and Zeonium

Yeah, these were just throwaway references in the vehicle specs from the Roman Album. Since Gundam Officials opted to privilege the Roman Album specs above all other sources, they've lived on in later publications. Huh, interesting though. I haven't found them in any other publications aside from t...

Mysterious Alloy - Universal Duralumin and Zeonium

In doing some recent data crunching and what not for various fighters and craft that appear in the Universal Century, I've come across various information which utilizes the terms "universal duralumin" and "zeonium". Near as I can tell, the "universal duralumin" was used as the alloy in the Federati...

Re: Inconsistencies on Cosmic Era ships

Considering they don't really jive with current publications, I think it's safe to say both MAHQ and the Wiki (which shouldn't be taken as the be all end all anyways) are outdated.

Re: Inconsistencies on Cosmic Era ships

For what it's worth, the Gundam Perfect File doesn't list these dubious weapons as a part of the armaments for the ships. There is nothing in the Ship & Aircraft Encyclopedia specs for the Nazca-class saying anything about a VLS. If I had to guess about the VLS, I'd say they're the four opening on e...

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Mecha Thread Mk I

I just noticed - and stop me if this is old news - that the Columbus and Musai from episode 1 have exactly the same dimensions. The Columbus specs always seemed weirdly huge, especially since we can see Saberfishes launching from the deck in episode 1 to provide a size comparison (indicating a deck...

Re: RCX-76 Guncannon: Why did it suck so bad?

Anaheim's development team and the Federation bigwigs were at fault when it came to mobile suit design. The Zeon's designs always had an emphasis placed on versatility whereas the Federation's was merely a humanoid mobile weapon as an extension of larger combat vehicles. Combine this with the clunky...

Re: MAN-08S Helios & Sand Angler class Fort Apache

The pic of the Andrastea-class says: The Sand Angler is a land battleship with a Minovsky craft as its propulsion system. The idea is thought to be an archetype for things such as the later Adrastea-class. The part about the Rewloola says: Heat sinks were equipped on either side of the central hull ...

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Anime Thread Mk I

So I noticed that there was an absence of a director in this particular episode... Imanishi is said to have been fired and/or quit after Episode 3 came out... which seems rather odd to me. Only other thing I can think of is that he was removed from Episode 4 to focus on the Loum arc instead, which ...

The design is very similar to the camouflaged space freighter in Gundam 0083. I'm interested to see how it was adapted from civilian to military use or vice versa.

Re: MAN-08S Helios & Sand Angler class Fort Apache

Let's see how well I can go back and forth on my phone so apologies if this is weird: Sand Angler-class Submersible Land Carrier Fort Apache Among the Zeon Mars survival fleets led by the outlaw Chester, it is the third warship of the Sand Angler-class submersible land carrier. In addition to this, ...

Here's a very brief overview of the chapter as I'm currently translating it: Chapter.01 Afterglow of the Red Comet (1) Civilians Arlette Almage and Danton Hyleg along with a Lieutenant JG Mehmet Merca are apart of "Mastema," a unit under the direct control of the Federation government. Having set ou...

Re: [Yatate Bunko] - Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight Axis

I just hope this isn't going to derail a hopeful Crossbone production... since it appears to have won the poll for a new UC project. I really wanna stop you here. That Twitter poll was no way official or indicative of Sunrise's future plans for Gundam. Crossbone is and will always be a bizarre pipe...

Of Mufti and the Space Emigration Program

In one of the sectors of the Gundam universe we rarely hear about, Tomino shed some light on the original intents of the Earth Federation government around its forming (later echoed in Gundam Unicorn). The interesting aspect that Tomino points out to us in the Hathaway's Flash novels is that the nor...
