Re: Ep. 069 - Stark Raving Madhouse!
Hey guys! Great show as always, enjoyed it tons. Just quickly: You guys got the Return of the Jedi Death Star all wrong! They shoot capital ships with it, they destroy a whole Mon Calamari cruiser with it in fact (Lando: "That blast came from the Death Star! It's operational!"). The whole difference...

Re: Artificial Gravity on Warships
Because of the way crew members float around until they land on their feet (at least in UC), I've always assumed magnetized shoes and floors. This would make it easy enough to walk, I'd imagine. Notice how in emergency situations people rarely bother walking, they just float about, and if a ship tak...

Re: Five Star Stories - not dead just yet!
Wasn't he, like, halfway through the storyline? I mean, it's kinda odd that he's announcing the END of such an open-ended story. Here's hoping he brings the plot back to Amaterasu's storyline and closes that off...
Seconded about a Much Needed Gothicmade announcement.

Re: Favorite Damashii Figures
I only have the Turn-A, since I just wanted a good figure of my favourite Gundam (deal with it!). In one word? It's BEAUTIFUL. The sharp detailing, the articulation which makes it able to do pretty much any pose from the anime (and the lineart! it has joints in the lower leg, to make it bend forward...

Re: The Legend of the Galactic Heroes Thread
Antares: Well, the side stories are based on side story novels, so it's less to get more mileage out of Kircheis's Seiyuu (the drastically underused Masashi Hironaka), and more to get mileage out of Yoshiki Tanaka's writings. I'd imagine Tanaka was always interested in exploring Kircheis and Reinhar...

I recently re-listened to your Escaflowne podcast and suddenly realised that you guys were aware of Rayearth (and didn't seem to hate it, surprisingly!). So I'd like to suggest: anime spotlight on Rayearth!
(PS, listener call-ins too! I'd call into that one

Re: What's Your Current Anime? Mk II
After my big epic summer with Legend of the Galactic Heroes, I've taken an anime break, peppered of course with watcing Unicorn episode 2 (amazing!). Right now, because Unicorn has reignited my Gundam thirst, I think I'll go back to try and finish Gundam X. I somehow never managed to get past the fi...

Dedicated to all future Gundam fansite pioneers...
I was listening to some old Gundamn episodes, and there was a point when it was mentioned that MAHQ's longevity is rare, thinking of all the other english-language Gundam websites that have gone by. Suddenly, I was taken down memory lane for a trip into... uh... memory? Anyways, the remembrances, if...

Re: Turn A Gundam: Coming soon
Quite honestly, just why they chose Turn A is baffling. It's one of my favourite shows, hell, the Turn-A itself is my favourite Gundam (sorry Kunio, Hajime, Kazumi...). I'd have honestly expected Gundam X, which is similar in animation style and design aesthetics to Wing, to be released, cashing in ...

Ach, I think I just updated my one not long ago and didn't think of looking for alternatives. Thanks for the tip about amazon! I'd like to get a PS3, mainly for MGS4. Sadly my budget is very tight at the moment due to prolongued illness/unemployment, so it doesn't seem likely I'll invest in any new ...

Oh, I meant to say: Neo, I'm totally with you in the 'eff Microsoft' camp. And I pay it in Euro! It's bullcrap, all I want to do is play Street Fighter online goddammit. I was listening to the episode again today and I was cracking up at the line: 'I'm voting General Hate 2012, Hate we can Believe i...

Re: A Question about Episode 3 of Gundam 0080
Hmm. I'm looking at Mark's timeline over in Ultimate Mark, located here: http://www.ultimatemark.com/gundam/timeline.php Comparing the MSG and 0080 timelines, it's difficult, yet plausible, for Char to be part of the strike force that's hitting Side 6. Char was part of the attack on Jaburo on Novemb...

Re: For a show that is not taken well
The black Selena is awesome, pretty much. The popularity of a mech does not necessarily correspond directly to the popularity of the work it was featured in, although this is frequently the case.

Re: In Defense of Destiny
Seed revitalized the Gundam franchise since it was in decline in the post Wing era. As such, a lot was expected out of its predecessor, Destiny. However, when it proved to be infavorable in the eye of many for various reasons, a lot of backlash came its way. If ZZ had premiered in current times aft...

As I've said again, great show guys! I never pay attention to your schedule so whenever I hit 'refresh' on iTunes, and I get a new Gundamn episode, it's always a fantastic surprise :) Anyway, here's me again with a silly question regarding an in-joke: What's the whole 'this show doesn't exist' busin...
