Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Look a few posts back and you'll see we've already been discussing those pictures since last week. MS A feels likely to be a Teiwaz design, MS B could be another Valkyrie Frame.

My gut says it's another Valkyrie frame, but whatever it is, I like it's overall shape. Reminds ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

I know the feeling and I'd normally read that as Crow as well, but I encountered the same rendering in a game I was playing (as a spell) and assumed it was that, only for the descriptive text and graphics to make it obvious it was Claw. What made it especially fun is that there was a character whose...

Probably not on the part of the Japanese, that can also be romanized as 'Claw'.

Ah yes, the Z'Goggy, I forgot about that one. So did the writers apparently seeing how it and its pilot both just kind of vanish in the finale.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Something about the way the leg armor has the blue bits in the front while the bulk of it is gray just looks funny to me. Or maybe it's the obvious gap in the lower leg where whoever put the model together forgot to completely snap the pieces together. xD But the upper body coloring and the contrast...

Re: What MS design would you like to fix?

For the Barbatos and the Astaroth, adding armor on the back of the heads. I'm all for exposed frame bits on occasion but not when the contrast looks so strange and doesn't make any sense. Fortunately, it looks like the Lupus has armor there. The Harute, adding back the GN Submachineguns that the Ari...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Way too much of a stretch from the Japanese to get to that. The Japanese here is ヴィダール while Valefor would be written ウァレフォル, ヴァラファール or something else resembling one of those, Japanese being flexible with that sort of thing. In other words, only the first and last syllables are close. If they wante...

Re: IBO MSV

I think it's safe to say the Astaroth Origin's time period would be 'from its creation during the Calamity War until the Warrens sold it'. At the very least we know that the Origin's parts were what the frame was equipped with when they found it on the moon, less the family emblems of course. It's a...

Re: IBO MSV

Gundamguy has some images from Astaroth Origin's box. The weapons are Shotgun, Sledgehammer and Gamma Nanolaminate Sword but without manual scans (which I'm sure we'll have soon now that the kit is out) we don't know what that means. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iW5UbdxqB1E/V7u9C_NpObI/AAAAAAALACk/H_D...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Maybe the blades can break easily, maybe they're some kind of limited use heat/electrical blade or maybe they have an explosive function and you're meant to leave them in the target? Either way, just because the use of a jousting lance and a rapier both boil down to 'stick them with the pointy end' ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

For all we know of the new Rebake, they might very well be alternate equipment in place of the knuckle shields for ranged firepower. It's gotta have something other than the shields, certainly and the similarity to the Barbatos Lupus guns is hard to ignore. And yeah, I noticed that the blade seems t...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Is that an underslung blade with a tonfa extension on the back end in the option set? I think I'm going to have to grab a couple of those and make myself a dual-wielding set. And I wonder if someone is a baseball fan given the club, unless that's supposed to be a really big missile.

Re: Is "attack use" a misnomer?

That's literally what the kanji means but it could also be translated as 'Strike-use'. So basically, a suit made to launch attacks on enemy assets, as opposed to a more specific designation like a transforming suit or an environment-specific suit. But yeah, it's a very broad designation.

Re: IBO MSV

It's like a Gelgoog's naginata, just without the 'beam' part. Anyhow, thought I'd inventory Astaroth's parts and figure out what's still unaccounted for. Am I missing anything? - Found parts Gundam Frame (recovered at the start) Variable Blade Shields (recovered from Kallisto) Backpack 'tail' (maybe...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

The number explicitly includes all the Gundams we've seen including Barbatos and Gusion as it's been used in their kit descriptions. Possibly there are records from the Calamity War and immediate aftermath indicating that the other 46 were confirmed destroyed and the 26 number includes 'known to sur...
