Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk VI

Given the repeated controversy surrounding other works featuring Islamic characters as 'antagonists' (such as Zero Dark Thirty and Kingdom of Heaven ), I can see why Sunrise felt they preferred to avoid the issue altogether and rewrite Loni; Better safe than sorry later, after all. YMMV on how "ant...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk VI

I think part of it was that the original version with Loni's dad was thought to be too controversial, especially since the episode would come out close to 9/11. And there's the problem with that line of logic. Wing and 00 have had us rooting for Gundam-wielding terrorists for years now, and 00's ma...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk VI

IMO the fact that the Sleeves and Neo Zeon haven't tried any all out attacks like Torrington says enough. The reason why is because if they do they will get wiped out. Then again, the Zeon Remnants at Torrington were wiped out pretty much solely because their attack plan was basically centered on t...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk VI

Which is interesting seeing as how, 27 years later, the space force can't do jack-diddly-squat against the Crossbone Vanguard. Well, that's exactly my point in saying... But even then, the EFSF hasn't completely been in decline to the point of the general incompetence seen with Gundam Wing 's haple...

Re: Gihren's Greed Endings and Movies

Actually, I didn't have a rival Zeon faction ever rise. Char, Garma, and Kycilia were all dead. There was just the Earth Federation and AEUG. Apparently there weren't any titans, at least, no Jamitov. It appeared to still be led by Revil. Revil himself leading bad guys, I dunno, it was a bit weird....

Re: Gihren's Greed Endings and Movies

Mu La Fraga, Titans Ace Pilot? IIRC, there were also Special Defeats, too, for the Zeon and Federation in the first half of Zeon no Keifu . (Gihren gets headshotted by Kycilia, Revil gets vaporized by the Solar Ray along with Degwin.) I never really got to see them, though, because of how almost la...

Re: You know Char's plan in CCA is actually kind of stupid.

I don't know about Core 3 - I'm kind of unclear on what its back story is, but its population of 5 million (as per ZZ episode 43) puts it on the low end of Side 3 colony populations. I wonder why Haman chose it as her base of operations? I would think her reasons for basing her operations out of th...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk V

threads merged and why the hell would that thing appear in Unicorn ? Why not? A New Translation threw in a mishmash of units referencing MSV, ZZ, Gundam Sentinel, and even Advance of Zeta, to say nothing of the Unicorn OVAs being a cornucopia of Side Story references in itself. Heck, I wouldn't be ...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread AGE-9

Ugh. Let's just hope that this is just another manga project or some sort of video game spin-off. That way when it finally does come out I won't feel obligated to see it. Indeed. Dear God, if Level 5 *does* do this, please, for the love of God, leave Arisa alone --- making her more useful would be ...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread AGE-9

Yeah and some of those episodes would be dedicated to Asemu's school days. You just give the solution that can make it a smash hit, Asemu's School Days  . Featuring Romary and Asemu's sawed-off head. And Romary carving Arisa open with a knife to see... So much for being a kiddie show, but ...

< Adult Kio > My friends...it has often been said that I hate war. My friends...I hate war. Friends...I hate war. No, friends --- I loathe war! I loathe holocausts. I loathe blitzkriegs. I loathe defensive lines. I loathe sieges, charges, I loathe mop-up operations, and retreats. Wars across the pra...

Arisa, pissed off and not about to take any crap from Asemu (or anyone else for that matter).

I mean, we've never actually seen anything that would substantiate these conjectures, just like how we have no reason to believe, based on everything they've given us so far, that Asemu wouldn't jump straight back into playing pirate after spending a few minutes with his estranged wife, but as we a...

Re: Random Mecha/Anime Image Thread, 9th Issue

It's a play on the events of Ep33 where Kio uses his X-Rounder senses to find one of the bombs. Here, he does so...and misses the bomb, but uncovers Flit's secret shrine to Yurin, complete with Yurin plushies (or are they actually clones of her?) and 'All Vagans Must Be Exterminated!' slogan posters...

Working on the official submission right now but here's a teaser: So the Zeons are treated/shown to be Nazis in the UC metaverse. But what IF they WERE the Nazis? What if WWII ended differently? What if Nikola Tesla succeeded at Wardencliffe? What if the Aryans that were so worshiped by the Nazi re...

Well, looks like Wootbit's become popular for someone who's got less screentime than a dead girl (Lu). flashbacks included of course.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread AGE-7

the fact that Kio looks so much like Romary meant that the AsemuXArisa ship, to continue the nautical metaphor, was never seaworthy to begin with and was scrapped when only the keel had been laid in the drydock. Wootbit doesn't really make sense as a ship-sinker because there really wasn't a ship t...
