Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Isn't that the whole thing about Asakim Dowen was Masaki? AFAIK, turned out that we're somewhat mislead by Asakim. It's unclear if Shurouga was corrupted Cybuster or not, but Asakim can't be Masaki since Shurouga create him to be replacement of its original pilot. It's unknown if he's based on the ...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Also, there were some machines debuted in that games that would reappear, right? (Like the machine piloted by the protagonist of Masou Kishin 4: Coffin of the End, if I remember correctly.) I speculate that the whole subplot of Cybuster slowly being corrupted from usage of imitation ritual converte...

Re: do the U.C. Gundam OAV's create continuity problems with the First Series?

How? Thoae two things arwn't relevant. RX-79 are especially noted to be made from parts left over from developing Gundam (not quite good enough, but still functional) Alex was made afterward for Amuro. Thunderbolt's author doesn't really mind continuity, but I can't see what would prevent Federation...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

i'd say Rinne no Lagrange fits under the forgotten titles. the only possible reason some otakus remember it is because of the Yuri subtext. the show was entertaining enough for me to watch it almost 3 times. in both Japanese and English language. i am eagerly awaiting for it to debut in a Major SRW...

Re: ZAFT'S Land and Sea craft.

TBH, UC Gundam 's explanation that the Principality of Zeon couldn't design decent aircraft because they lived inside space colonies is a tad silly. OK, they live in an O'Neill cylinder but that doesn't mean they lost knowledge of aerodynamics. Not being able to test an aircraft is one thing, but m...

It's "Hollywood Acid"... so the only real answer is "enough".
Except when the Mechanical Beast of the Week is stated to be especially tough.

Haven't watched Ultraman Z yet, but are the mecha stuffs in it like Ultraseven?
Their role are similar to fighters from older show, but it turned out that mech's development is actually the center of its plot. If you don't mind spoiler, they just uploaded compilation that summary it.

Re: Do you guys think we will see more sequels of old mecha series?

The only original property on the list is SSSS.DYNAZENON , a super robot anime. And not exactly new either. Unless they change anything, Dynazenon is most likely to be combination of Dyna Dragon and God Zenon from original Gridman. Dyna Dragon was completely absent fron SSSS.Gridman, while God Zeno...

Re: Tokusatsu

Dug up because, well, the next Super Sentai appear to be focus on mech. The design of the four members already give me nostalgia (they appear to be derived from Gaoking, Daizyujin, Majiking, and Daibouken) while the leader is mixture of Kamen Rider and Big One from the second Sentai, JAKQ.

Re: Are mech shows generally merchandised?

However, not all merchandise series has a show. Currently, Diaclone and Zoids Wild Senki only have short animation for promotion, and both give the vibe that they're just promoting toys instead of telling story by itself. However, both are also being proven IP and the brand are well recognized alrea...

It "end" after 3 volumes. But as noted, some key elements are in Shin Getter manga (mostly the giant/saint dragon).

I noticed that few KMF use screenshot instead of lineart, so here're what I have.

Quinn Roses B
Quinn Roses Z (part of cloak is unfortunately cut)
Jarja Vakka

Here're bigger version of two DS original KMF.

...Without Koji Tsujitani, revisit F91 can be awkward.

Personally, MS Girl Note anime would be interesting. And before anyone scream, it does feature some pretty cool mechanic designs.

Re: Getter Robo Arc anime adaptation announced

The biggest question is, will it end like the manga (that's, with massive cliffhanger). Seriously, both Shin Getter manga (I've feeling that they will also adapt one chapter which Ryoma has his consciousness merge with Shin Getter and sent into hellish future Earth) and Arc do excellent job at makin...

Re: Hi-Zack and psychological warfare

They basically can simply use all the Zaku manufacturing from the one year war. I think they're quite different, IIRC it is new design. So new that AE made mistake and has it only support 1 beam weapon at time. So it's unlikely to be as cheap as GM II, that they can do quick upgrade from old GM or ...
