Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Good to know, thanks.
So based on what PowerdGNFlag mentioned, if we don't start seeing more information around February, it's a pretty safe bet to assume an October release date then?

Re: Color of Beam Sabers

The ELS-assimilated mobile suits in the 00 movie and the Eldora Army units in Re:Rise also had a darker purple color that I don't think we've seen very often.

That being said, I don't think we even have any idea of the release date yet, do we?

Re: Practicality of Seatbelts in Zero Gravity

Squatting will also be fun as the cockpit will sudden drop down and leaving the pilot in mid air. If that squat is for a jump following it and in a fight you cannot wait to fall on the ground before the jump, the pilot will have to extend the body in mid air, just to have the floor of the cockpit n...

And yet another one, this time inspired by the Gundam Wing Zero Sky from Breaker Battlogue:

MOBILE SUIT MODE
No Shield
With Shield

WAVERIDER MODE

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

The first movie doesn't change Bogue's characterization at all... he's the most hateful member of the Knights, and for a good reason given that... ... his entire family were killed by Hayate's father when he dropped that dimensional warhead on Carlisle. That just makes him ending up in Delta Squad ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Huh. Started rewatching the series out of curiosity, and out of that lot, I honestly would've pegged him as the least likely to ever be willing to work with Delta Squad.
Guess the movie must be changing stuff there.

Thanks.

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

I'm going to ask what's probably a stupid question and one that's been answered in this thread, but I cannot seem to find it. So I gotta ask about the green VF-31AX in this image marked Delta 6(immediately underneath Mirage's). Who the heck is the pilot?

Re: Destiny & Legend's performance

At that point, the story was determined to pretty much flush its new cast down the toilet in favor of re-glorifying the returning characters, so looking at it from that viewpoint, it makes sense that Shinn got handed a subpar design while Athrun and Kira got the overpowered God-Mode Bots. And I say ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

I literally cannot remember any of the dogfights in Delta except for a very vague recollection that one time Hayate launched in Messer's fighter after his own was shot to scrap, and his opponent threw a hissy fit over it. Come to think of it, I can't really remember much of Delta in general except t...

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Thanks. I read it - it's not bad, but yeah, too short and unfortunately never really goes anywhere. On another note, inspiration struck recently for another color scheme I wanted to try for the ZZII MOBILE SUIT MODE No Shield With Shield WAVERIDER MODE No Shield With Shield I took a few additional l...

Re: Hi Evolution mechs?

That yellow one looks like it might be just a recolor of the existing Terminus TypeB303 Devilfish. I'm not seeing any substantial differences other than the color.
The Nirvash definitely looks different, and that CR-78's interesting; pretty sure it's a new design as well.

Re: Decals/painting on mecha

That Gouf reminds me of the WWII-era pinup art you'd see painted on aircraft. You see that in other franchises occasionally as well; In TCW, the Havoc Marauder was originally meant to have a similar-styled picture of Padmé on its nose, which was removed from the final episode. The same image does cr...

Re: Destiny & Legend's performance

I would argue that Legend suffers from the same flaw of overspecialization, possibly even to a greater extent than SF. It's clearly designed as a mobile suit primarily intended to fight in space, where its DRAGOON System can be used more effectively, and while it can make limited use of it in atmosp...

Re: Variable Fighters and mass production.

It's farther along than that... in Macross Frontier, SMS has been contracted by the Frontier New UN Forces to take care of what's essentially the final phase of acceptance testing (Operational Evaluation) before the VF-25 enters mass production and the process of transitioning the military to the n...

Re: Variable Fighters and mass production.

To the best of my recollection, as a general rule VFs fall into two mutually exclusive categories: 1: The current mass-production model unit fielded by the NUNS 2: Whatever the main characters are using, which is usually not the same unit. Generally speaking, these are usually not mass-produced mach...

And then Define took the idea even further when they stated, IIRC, that the Marasai was basically a reskinned Rick Dias that was sold to the Titans by Anaheim.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Do we know anything significant about the VF-24?
I mean, I know we at least know what the YF-24 looked like, and presumably the VF-24 would look very similar, but has anything ever been said about what its capabilities are relative to the emigrant fleet-developed VFs like the -25?

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

I believe it said Xaos on the wings of his YF-29. Near as I can tell from this , I think you're right. At least, there are no NUNS markings I can see on it, and those markings on the leading edge of the wing, in between the main body and the engine pods, look like they say "χάος", which would be th...
