Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
As I was thinking whether the VF-11 Booster count as a quadjet (probably not, because they added rocket boosters and not jet engines, right) or not, the same question applies to the Super Messiah, Super Lucifer, Durandal and Super Siegfried? Do they count as quadjets? Like, does the the drones carri...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
Of course, when you account for the fact that the F-22's tanks hold enough fuel for a couple of hours of flight while the VF-1's hold enough fuel for about 29 days of flight in atmosphere... the cost picture is pretty damned rosy for the thermonuclear engine. Do we've any idea how energy-intensive ...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
Variable Fighters use some kind of hydrogen fuel, but what about the boring old fusion power plants? What do they use? I vaguely remember someone talk about using sea water because they contain lithium and deuterium.
Also, can we make a guess how expensive VF fuel cost vs jet fuel?

The proliferation of coordinator tech in Cosmic Era
Was it ever stated anywhere that the experiments that "created" George Glenn were done by a state-sponsored institution or a private party? I'm wondering about how coordinator tech spread so widely between C.E. 30 (when the ban on the creation of Coordinators was lifted) and C.E. 50 (the e...

Re: How do the explosive bolts on the Hyaku Shiki Kai Full Armor work?
It's MSV... it doesn't have to make sense or be properly explained. :P The explanation given is that it's basically an ineffectual shotgun-type weapon that fires explosive buckshot that doesn't have enough stopping power to actually hurt an enemy MS other than with a lucky hit on joints or cameras....

How do the explosive bolts on the Hyaku Shiki Kai Full Armor work?
How exactly do the explosive bolts -- the swivel gauntlet thing-y on the Hyaku Shiki Kai Full Armor's forearms -- work? Are they actual explosives, or do they work more like pile drivers. Is there any explanation from manuals or other books? I am also wonder about the laser guns mounted to the Hyaku...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
I can't remember for the life of me if I've already asked if the Neo Glaug, Variable Glaug and all the weird video game-only Zentrandi machine really exist? Or that whether the Queadluun-Rhea could triumph over all of them. Also, were there any new class of Meltrandi/Zentrandi-centric class of war s...

Say, remind me again what is the main power source in NUNS habitable world? Do they have giant thermonuclear reaction plants?

Re: Zeon MS Frame Compatability
When we're on the topic of compatibility in OYW, just how different are the RX-78 to the Jaburo- and Luna II-made GM? Given how many defective RX-78 parts there were to make up to 20 Gundam Ground Type, I can imagine the EFF making a lot of adjustments between the RX-79[G] and the GM Ground Type. An...

Re: Hizack vs. G-Line vs. Pale Rider DII
Time is money. The cost of labor affects the price of the finished product, both in terms of the number of people required to manufacture one unit on the factory floor and how long it takes them to complete one unit. As you add more time or more people, the cost increases and that increases costs f...

Re: Hizack vs. G-Line vs. Pale Rider DII
Sure I do. I'll tell you the one obvious area word it's clearly superior... cost performance. Performance is not the only consideration when it comes to picking a main mobile suit, and it never has been. You can build the most amazing mobile suit in the world with the highest performance ever, but ...

Hizack vs. G-Line vs. Pale Rider DII
Ignoring the very real world reason that two of these three was created decades after Zeta, do you think the Hizack is any way superior to the G-Line and Pale Rider DII to make the Titans choose it? If all they wanted is a better-than-average mobile suit made completely on Earth at a reasonable pace...

So there is this little NHK documentary about Okawara and Kawamori. It is pretty fun seeing Kawamori doing prototyping with Lego: https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/onde ... o/2099003/
And I don't know that Kawamori worked on Lightan.

...former Macross toy bootlegger in Hong Kong. That is interesting? I remember being shown a terrible English sub episode of Macross from Hong Kong, but have no idea that they made bootleg Macross toys too. Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
To clarify the above, the reason Harmony Gold is so keen on renewing those trademarks is because they'll be receiving royalties for the use of the title and various trademarked symbols and terms for products sold in the US. That is what I'm wondering. In the year of our Lord 2023, is there any new ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
Either the South East Asian or the Japanese release will have the English subtitles. That is my guess. If it is Japanese, then I guess will just have to create a Japanese Nintendo account and buy Japanese eShop gift card. But what a bummer. Having a game or anything released in the US would help to ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
So, it sounds like because of Harmony Gold (again), Shooting Insight won't have any character, stage or the VF-1 in the English release. And I though HG and Satelight have struck some deal? I just wish that Bushiroad will release the game with all of the contents in SEA region, where it is normal to...

Not sure which Wiki you're citing, but that's not entirely accurate. He mulls over becoming a politician, but he isn't denied the ability to do so. Here's an excerpt of my translation of Chapter.16 Beauce Londenion: “To Earth? When?" "Early morning, the day after tomorrow." Mirai ...

Has there been any news on the next show? Any crumbs? I remember that it took about half a year between Delta's character and mechanical design being revealed and the show's actual start. Will the next Macross be a spring or summer 2024 show?

Re: What is the MS-06B?
= Not that I can find. There are several possibilities to explain this: Zeonic developed a MS-06B as a further refinement of the MS-06A and it was deemed insufficient to meet the military's needs prior to the start of production and subsequently was either canceled outright or became the starting p...
