Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

The latest addition is the VF-1Z, a Variable Fighter Master File: VF-1 Battroid Valkyrie original variant which is said to be the final production variant of the VF-1 Valkyrie and the basis for the VF-1EX Valkyrie EX seen in Macross Delta . So, when did it come out? Did it incorporated anything fro...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

I'd posted this on the Mecha Discussion thread on MW, but I figure this is a good detail to share here. Variable Fighter Master File: VF-25 Messiah has a rather cute/amusing little detail about Sheryl Nome's future career and relationship buried in the description of the Macross Olympia SMS branch'...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Say, is there a fire extinguisher inside a VF's cockpit? And if the canopy is pierced, is there any sealant sprayer to quickly close the breech?

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Say, do you think that Sunrise will bring back Future GPX Cyber Formula? I am actually surprise to find out that Kawamori did designed the cars, but I suppose it is a given if you look at the design. (How many times has Kawamori worked together with Sunrise again?) Also, does Kawamori still do short...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Shoji Kawamori did work as a toy designer for a while, his work for Takara's Diaclone toy line ended up as part of the original (Gen 1) Transformers . He also designed one of the models of Sony's AIBO robot dogs (model ERS-220). Thanks! That is interesting to know! And speaking about Kawamori, whic...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

A new Kawamori interview for anyone interested: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/culture/2019/08/08/films/shoji-kawamori-40-years-spent-designing-anime-future/#.XU2Oy5A3u00 I am surprised that there haven't been a Kawamori-designed consummer product. A few years ago Kunio Okawara designed a car, and Shi...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Wait, there is an idol group in Macross before Walkure? And there is an all-Zentradi fleet? Interesting. Can you please tell more about them?

Also, should the Feios Valkyrie be called a Valkyrie? It doens't even have a GERWALK mode. And why were its armaments so lacking?

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

ot VFs developed by emigrant governments, but rather the 2nd Generation VF models that were developed with an eye towards providing newly-settled emigrant planets with designs that were easy and inexpensive to mass produce even with the limited infrastructure available. The VF-5, VF-6, VF-7, and VF...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

There's a possibility one of the cheap VFs from the early colony years might've been a single-engine design, but on the average twin-engine designs have a pretty significant advantage. Unclear, at best... possibly nonexistant. I don't believe chemical weapons have even been mentioned in Macross giv...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

That is a shame. I really like single-engine aircrafts.

Say, what is the current state of chemical/biological weapon technology in modern day Macross?

How long do these type of radio shows go on? The longest one I can recall is from the Idolmaster franchise.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Hmm... A single-engine Valkyrie is an impossible thing, right? If I remember correctly, there is a Transformer who is based on the F-16, but I suppose no designer would radically change the Valkyrie's legs to accomodate a single-engine design.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Say, is there any third-party company making bootleg VF? I just found out about the VF-25's concept art (http://www.toyark.com/attachments/109d1 ... 17dcecc60a) and it would be cool to see it in a 3D model.

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Say, what are Satelight's IP other than Macross? Symphogear and Aquarion? In the last few years they have mostly done licensed work. With Symphogear at its end, Aquarion inactive, and now Harmony Gold got an extended licensing deal, how positive are Satelight's prospect with original properties in t...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

What a f*cking travesty. Tatsunoko did a dumb, dumb thing. I can only assume they decided to take Harmony Gold to the cleaners over their alleged skimming off the top of the royalty payments. Either that or they agreed to renew to make Harmony Gold's lawsuit over Tatsunoko's refusal to pay the sett...

Re: Evangelion's Netflix Dub

Ugh... no, Evangelion doesn't belong on that list. It came SO long after those first three set up anime as a medium you could do serious dramatic storytelling on and it didn't really do anything to change how anime was seen or how its audience got access to it. It gets a lot of credit it doesn't de...

Re: Evangelion's Netflix Dub

the youtube video is a dood who claims EVA is what changed anime and manga forever...yeah, gonna watch that when i have nothing better to do. IMHO, Space Battleship Yamato, Gundam, Macross, and Evangelion are four shows which changed the way anime is delivered to the fans, and the fans themselves. ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Say, Kaiba, was it true that someone forgetful in the Macross team left the tape (or film, script?) of an episode on a train? And what about the funding shortages? Did Big West's involvement solve the problem?
