Re: Big West and HG strike deal! Macross is free!
Welcome back! Our long international nightmare is over. Glad to be back and yeah, it was definitely a long time coming. I'm just glad you've kept the lights of my mecha hometown on during all these years. I would not mind getting latest Macrosses well... without waving black flag with skull and cro...

Re: Big West and HG strike deal! Macross is free!
Hello hello, yes, I haven't posted in a long time, but seeing this news reminded me of Chris and the Gundamn crew's long, long crusade against Harmony Gold. So now that dawn has finally cracked on this issue, I thought I'd come back and raise my cup in toast to this happy occasion!

Re: Pacific Rim the movie (2013) - Guillermo del Toro
Apparently it takes a Mexican nerd director and giant 80 meters robots fighting kaijus on the silver screen to awaken this account, but I completely agree with hawk there: this movie will definitely rock. Just the amount of love that's put into it shows that Del Toro really is a fan of the mecha and...

Robo One in Space... What Happened?
First and foremost, this will be a slight change of pace from the usual mecha tech thread since the topic of concern isn't a fictional one. (hopefully) Remember back in 2006, when Robo One is still gathering momentum and starting to cause a stir in the mainstream media, how Robo One announced they'r...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVII
Going to change the topic slightly since it recently occurred to me that if twin drive system's massive particle output is made possible by carefully managing particle output to maximize particle resonance, then is it possible to achieve the same effect, albeit with much more difficulty, with Tau Dr...

Re: Zeon MS compared the German aircraft.
Nice of you to link the Wikipedia articles of the planes as I probably wouldn't have bothered checking for every one! It's interesting how even the aesthetic changes matches those made in the real world and your choice for Gelgoog and Gyan are especially adequate. Though isn't the Heinkel He 162 a b...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVI
That's all they took directly from the GN-XII's weapon systems? The entire concept/design just look so similar I'd be surprised if CB simply took one look at the two models and decided to give the 00 a similar. Even the way it's mounted is exactly the same! GN Sword II Blaster and Buster Sword syste...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVI
An anon on /m/ suggested that the entire attachment could be swung around to its back and parts that replaces the old Raiser system can be attached after that. Seeing how bulky the other CB models are getting, I don't think it's out of the context for them pull a gimmick like that. EDIT: I should ad...

I can't say much about Firefly since I haven't seen it yet, but I definitely look forward to watching it after this episode. Thanks for featuring it.

Decline of Dedicated Sniper MS on post OYW battlefields
There's something that always bugged me about the decline of dedicated sniper MS after the OYW. During the OYW, sniper MS got a huge amount of attention in the form of numerous GM Snipers and their customs, but after the war, development of similar machines practically disappeared. Is this because o...

Re: World Cup
I have quite a few teams that I like rooting for including Brazil, England, South Africa, and BEST KOREA(aka North Korea). Before someone accuse me of being a double crosser, let me explain that neither my country of residence nor my country of origin has made it into the world cup. As for the South...

Bandai plan to release the MG V Dash as both a separate addon and a pack that include both the V Core Booster and the original MG V Gundam/Hexa.

Re: The Saku.
This one is by far my favorite. I have no idea how to adjust the name appropriately though. Skshatriya?? Makes it tough since sanskrit names have no 's' sounds and only 'sh' sounds.... Anyway, how would the performance of these things be like compared to the 'standard' units? Could 100 Sakus even b...

Re: The Saku.
That's what I think too. If we were to make this a serious discussion, just thing about how overwhelmingly effective when you have 1000:1 advantage in the number of units you can deploy! Aside from that, the three main features of the "s" series are: -SUPER EASY 2 STEP ASSEMBLY!!(take the ...

Stop killing my fanboy dream even more! T_T
Usso's does have ridiculous piloting ingenuity though, almost as much as OYW Amuro I'd say. One thing that makes Usso surpass even Amuro is that he is much calmer in high pressure situations.

Re: Zanscare's Trump Cards, Zanspine and Zancock
Thanks guys for confirming V2/V2AB as one of the strongest Gundam aside from Turn A, which is what all threads that has anything with V2's ultimate conclusion is, it seems... Oh well, there's gotta be someone who take the throne in the end. Zanspine would definitely put up a good fight, but unless t...

Re: Zanscare's Trump Cards, Zanspine and Zancock
Didn't the Zanspine also have THREE Minovsky Drives to the V2's two? I think I remember reading that it did. Not sure as to the source though, so maybe someone can confirm whether or not that's the case. Yeah, it's true. From all representations of it, Zanspine's always been portrayed to have three...

Re: Zanscare's Trump Cards, Zanspine and Zancock
Well, the V2 Assault DID have two I-field generators. Not to mention a beam spray pod for taking out fast and small targets, intended for missiles, would probably work against bit to some degree. The only real advantage the Zanspine would have is the twinkle bits which is debatable against a fully ...

Re: Zanscare's Trump Cards, Zanspine and Zancock
Eh, that's arguable I guess, since by the time of the Zanscare conflicts, the performance of high end suits can only be fully utilized by NTs anyway. But since I guess I don't have much information backing up my energy argument, I think your case is a bit stronger. Wouldn't the NT weapons still give...
