Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers

Yes, I agree. About the topic of the post and usage of AA missiles, I think that they are used as we see in the animation. If they had no type of guidance system they would have called them rockets or grenades, as they rightly do with other weapons. In the scenes we see that the missile launchers ha...

Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers

About "M particle seems to be more than air when in high density"? Where do you have find this evidence? Well, in sufficient density they act as heat shielding inside of Minovsky reactors, for one... Yes, in the reactor. The reactor is enclosed by i-field and magnetic fields. But into the vacuum of...

Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers

I agree with Geelgog Jager. I think that IR missiles are used in Gundam too as antiship and AA support. Because of the Minowsky particles, they are unaccurate and not so powerful because of the protection of electronics from Minowsky interference (but all the electronics we see in gundam are protec...

Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers

Indeed, the IR missiles in gundam are for sure very unaccurate. Probably they have a camera that is an IR with a discrimination of the image, with a better camera and a.i. tecnology of today missiles. Probably the anti ship missile have final IR discrimination but also a programmed path when launche...

Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers

Wire guided might be possible but the range will be really limited and hard to launch a lot of them. Heat seeking wouldn't work well as well, M particles not only disrupt radars, they also destroy electric components and thus the heat seeking sensors needed heavy protection, which in turn made the ...

About Special Feature: Universal Century Timeline

Hi, I noticed that the "Special Feature: Universal Century Timeline" link in the site http://www.ultimatemark.com/gundam/ by Mark Simmons is offline.
Can anyone suggest me how to find this chronology or a link that works?
Best regards.

Re: Random Gundam Tech Tidbits

To me is more logical that the energy required to fuse few minowsky particle is less than to fuse a massive amount of minoswky particles into mega particles, despite of the chamber dimension. For what I can see on animation and specs, mega cannon based on condenser are much more powerful of beam rif...

Re: Random Gundam Tech Tidbits

Hi, what do you think about the main cannon of the Big Rang description: "The Big Rang's powerful reactor supposedly allowed it to quickly replenish its energy supply (although Lt. Oliver May, the unit's test pilot, was dissatisfied with the recharge rate of the main beam cannon aboard, and was redu...

Re: Random Gundam Tech Tidbits

About charging rate of Zanzibar in CDA, I,ve read the volume. It seems to me that this particular cannon is a special cannon like a hyper mega beam cannon. This can explain why every barrel has a 150 seconds charging time. The other mega cannons perhaps don't have such long recharge time. It's very ...

Re: Random Gundam Tech Tidbits

Thank you so much for your answer. After reading them, I have a question. Assumed all the "fictional teory" on minowsky particle, a mega cannon can fire al low output but higher rate of fire? For example, a mega cannon can fire when the condenser is at 50% of its capacity? If this is "possible" then...

To MythSearcher.
Can you tell me in which volume of CDA is seen the time of ship recharging cannons?
I'm reading CDA now but I haven't find anything.
Can you post an image?
Thx.

Re: Random Gundam Tech Tidbits

Very interesting. About Jamru Fin,in many description we read about its armament: " high mega cannon, power rated at 6 MW in mobile suit mode and 30.1 MW in mobile armor mode, mounted in torso;" Why in mobile suit mode it has 6 MW and in mobile armor 30.1 Mw? And second question, I've found these: h...

Re: Random Gundam Tech Tidbits

Thx, I had read Mark's post and for aiming range and minowsky dispersion I agree with Mark. But about rate of fire and recharge time, I still think that 150 seconds (Chars deleted affairs) to load a ship mega cannon seem to me a very long time. The naval guns of WW2 ships fire a shot every 45 second...
