Re: Haruhi Season 2
What the rest of the series are you implying? The complete 100% repetition from the previous 2006 series? Fact is, the only new stuff from Haruhi 2009 aside from the OP, ED are Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, Endless Eight and Sighs. So what “the rest of the series is great” are you implying? You called 2006...

Re: Haruhi Season 2
So I'm being forgiving? Does that imply there's something wrong with that? Because a story arc was a disaster, I can't say that the other arcs are good?
Sorry, can't do that. I'm forgiving then, and kinda proud of it.

Re: Haruhi Season 2
Guys, this series - aside from 5 completely unnecessary and, admittedly, insulting repeat episodes - is good. Some people are talking about things like 'lost interest' or things like that. Which, frankly, gets as annoying as Endless Eight itself. From the fourth part of Endless Eight, it had become ...

Re: Macross: UN Government
I think we can rather discount the idea that the Zentreadi are a majority, or even a greater minority. The fact remains that everything in Macross points to humans being in charge. The fact that the leadership seems human, that nearly everyone we've seen in Macross Plus, Macross 7 and Macross Fronti...

Re: Macross: UN Government
Well, to be honest, one can base oneself on Macross 7 for the human/zentreadi ratio. On the Macross 7 Colonization Fleet, the Zentreadi/Meltrandi make up roughly 10% of the population, and Maximillian Jenius once pointed out that the Macross 7 fleet was a 'usual' fleet, while Macross 5 was 'special'...

Re: Macross: UN Government
I have a personal problem with the idea of 'greater population' post-SWI. I mean, following logic... Human pop - Feb. 2009: app. 6,500,000,000 Human pop - Feb. 2010: app. 1,000,000 Now, Overtechnology and heavy use of Zentreadi-derived cloning equipment likely helped the population to boom at a rate...

Re: Macross: UN Government
That's a good point. Still, most of the 1,000,000 survivors on Earth were found in the remnants of the several in-production Grand Cannons, in the orbital facilities, or on the lunar bases. Its safe to say that most of the people were pro-UNG to begin with. Thus, the New Unity Government had very li...

Re: Fukuda Interview
I'm not going to go into trying to tell which if Durandal or Lacus were right. I think, morally, its rather grey. Both sides had good intentions at the core. But Durandal lost the moral high ground when he decided no one was allowed to refuse his plan. Talking of peace while holding people at gunpoi...

Re: Valkyria Chronicles *spoilers*
The only thing that's bothered me is that Welki's promotion is due to actually two things: his father was a legendary commander, and he had a surprisingly good tank for himself.
Pretty thin reasons.

Fang of the Sun Dougram
Anyone know if this can be found somewhere? Has it been subbed at any point? It seems to have a good story, despite being quite old.

Re: Macross: UN Government
Thats weird. With all the speculation - sometimes pointless, often biased - going on around here, I don't see why my speculating is any worse than anyone else's.
Fine and good. I'll let it go at that.

Re: Macross: UN Government
Well, lets keep in mind that, by Space War One, the UNG is strongly implied if not outright stated as the dominant power on Earth. Its just an intellectual exercise, but I'm trying to see the world the SDF-1 Macross was christened in. I see the most despotic countries never having joined. For exampl...

Re: Macross: UN Government
Well, yes, the nations which founded ORTECH, which allowed Earth's fast technological growth, was made up of these countries. This means that North America and probably the European Union members of 1999, added to Japan and Russia, formed the core of the UNG early on. But I think other countries wer...

Macross: UN Government
This is just to satisfy my own curiosity. did all the countries on Earth join the UNG, Pre-Space War I? And, if so, which parts of the world do you think were really committed to the UNG?

Re: New Haruhi season confirmed
Well, as for me, I think I'm going to simply watch the LAST part of Endless Eight. I admit, its getting absurd and kinda stale. That's why I'm simply going to watch the end of it. How sad. 14 new episodes and they wasted 5 of them. Not 8. The first, second, and the last one make for a nice story. Bu...

Re: Kittan in Gurren Lagann *spoiler!!*
Took my initial comment out. I don't like the character, and I do think his death was over-hyped considering the character's lack of charisma and importance, but my tone was overly harsh. I apologize.
