Re: Gerbera and Gerbera Tetra?

Ah, yes, the Galbaldy-β is an EFF unit, I was just making a quick comment and didn't think clearly. But the Galbaldy-β High Mobility Unit is a unit Titans was testing in AOZ to evaluate if they want to use it or not. Pretty sure it got nothing to do with AE and is a competitor of AE. Come to think o...

Re: Gerbera and Gerbera Tetra?

Aside from Zeon's developments in and before the One Year War, Gundam 's settings rarely (if ever) features any kind of design competition or a competitive evaluation process in which multiple manufacturers compete for military contracts the way they do in the real world. You have the AE vs SNRI fo...

Re: GW: Wing Gundam BR 3 Shot Maximum

I recall seeing somewhere that the gun or the Twin Buster Rifle on WZ will have to increase output when fired in air because air scatters the beam and thus making it overheat and can also only be used in limited capacity.

Re: Gerbera and Gerbera Tetra?

0083 Rebellion makes an attempt at investigating AE corruption but conveniently the fall guy for the GP04 is found dead and all their other leads go nowhere. GP04G has nothing to do with AE's corruption. Either Bask or Jamitov bought it and gave it to Cima with the deal that they join EFF. They pro...

Re: Gerbera and Gerbera Tetra?

If anything, it's kind of amazing nobody ever managed to charge Anaheim staffers with any kind of crimes given how often they blatant supplied their spare prototypes and so on to Zeon remnants and Neo Zeon movements with barely more than cosmetic changes. Likely because EFF also wants those remnant...

Re: Repair Capabilities onboard a Musai or Chivvay

That's a good point, I'm sure AE would be happy to small batch manufacture parts at an extreme premium price tag. And with their various divisions being compartmentalized I could easily see them creating some parts under the guise of prototyping then conveniently after testing the disposed of parts...

Re: Repair Capabilities onboard a Musai or Chivvay

For a given value of "work". I have a fair amount of practical experience with graft repairs like that on vehicles, and that kind of thing is NEVER pretty under the hood. It's not as simple as "plug and play", even if the databus standards are the same there are still difference...

Re: Repair Capabilities onboard a Musai or Chivvay

"Compatible" is pushing it... the "Zeta Zaku" thing was a jury-rigged repair that left the MS with great big sensor blind spots because the Zaku had a monoeye on a rail and the Zeta was designed for an all-sky monitor. They were able to get partial functionality out of a salvage...

Re: Repair Capabilities onboard a Musai or Chivvay

My understanding of Mobile Suit engineering in the UC is that they really aren't very well modularized... at least, not on a level that would ordinarily be useful for making speedy repairs cost-effective. There is the Core Block System, but throwing away 1/3 of a mobile suit isn't exactly efficient...

Re: Repair Capabilities onboard a Musai or Chivvay

Back in World War II, which Gundam 's early UC bases itself heavily upon, fleets tended to travel with dedicated auxiliary ships for handling most repair operations to carrier-borne aircraft. Crews could rig running repairs, patch bullet holes, replace engine parts, and so on but the facilities of ...

Re: Core Fighter Power?

There is a universe of difference between a conventional aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and a helicopter. The two are not remotely comparable. A Core Fighter is not going to be capable of anything like the kind of low-altitude maneuverability a combat helicopter can achieve. It can barely fly...

Re: Core Fighter Power?

Eh... not really, no. First, that the Core Fighter has a top speed of Mach 4.8 is basically irrelevant because that's a cruising speed. That's how fast it can go when it's flying level in a straight line to get from one place to another as fast as possible. Modern fighters can engage at low superso...

Re: Core Fighter Power?

IRL a VTOL craft with mach 4.8 max speed and beam weapons is going to own shell firing 18m giants that can only run at 160km/h though, no matter how well the fire control system on the MS-06 is, the AA clip is so small that it won't really make effective AA coverage.(especially with it's poor 3200m ...

Re: Core Fighter Power?

So individually, how powerful would the Core Fighters be in battle? They seem way more powerful than the Saberfish and Tin Cod: and definitely outclassed the Dopp in battle, but how would they hold up in battle against regular MS? 12000HP (MG Manual given spec, likely inline with either Gundam Cent...

Re: Jaburo History?

Maybe it was some kind of remote fortress or command center (like Greenbrier Bunker or NORAD, or something). Like if the worst case scenario happened , it was a underground city the Federation government could flee to. Then when the outbreak of war occurred it was decided that Jaburo was the best l...

On a slightly different note. Was the Dijeh made specifically for Amuro? Or was it assigned to him?
Not specifically for him, just assigned.
Unless you are talking about other later version like the Rick Dejih (Amuro Custom).

Re: The Dijeh in Space?

True, when you look at the the more Science Fantasy angle of stories like Narrative and to a degree Turn A Gundam, Gigantis story doesn't seem that outlandish, even if Hasagawa claimed it to be non-canon. Especially when you compare it with Hasagawa's other UC works like Crossbone, which themselves...

Re: The Dijeh in Space?

Funny part is, by Sunrise's own guideline (well, Sunrise is no more, and it look like they don't care about it anymore either, but I digress), Gigantis' Counterattack only become unquestionable non-canon when Unicorn got animated (and contradict it with Minerva's status). Until then, it's just extr...

Re: Jaburo History?

So is it ever explained when exactly Jaburo was built? Was it built at the start of the Universal Century? Or was it built in the UC 70's? The only informative I can easily find is in the Origin(which falls into the whole manga/anime canon thing) which seems to indicate that Jaburo is fairly new, o...

Re: The Dijeh in Space?

So were there any MSV or Spinoff Manga in the 80's (not exactly cannon, but still) that showed Amuro's activities during the First Neo-Zeon War? Or was this first explored in Gundam Evolve? Not exactly in the 80's. The completely non-canon Gundam vs Gigantis(Ideon) https://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam...
