Re: Ships and Combat Density of Minovksy Particles
That all makes sense, thank you. I had a feeling they were always releasing M Particles but I didn't know if emitting enough for combat density required diverting power from something else. I'm assuming if a ship retreats they may cut power in some places to maximize power being sent to engines. Ne...

Re: Main Gun on the Pegasus Class Ships
You might be confusing the Thoroughbred with something else. From my recollection it was a different ship that was halted then turned into spare parts for the White Base, whereas the green one seen at Jaburo is the Thoroughbred; it's first appearance being the PS2 Gundam Encounters in Space campaig...

Re: The Official Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island Anime Thread Mk I
Watched it yesterday. It is an extended and improved version of episode 15 from first Gundam TV series. Animation is gorgeous, same style as Hathaway (same animation team?) while keeping retro look to conform with TV series. I wish they would redo entire Gundam TV series in this style, that would b...

Re: Ships and Combat Density of Minovksy Particles
They probably can. Notice the Salamis, while with lots of different sizes(212, 228, 288m, I also kinda like how Origin's take of the 260-ish middle size while it probably isn't canon. It fits into my theory about different sized ships of the same class pretty well. Off topic so I will just say it is...

Re: The Pegasus Class.
I just typed the text wall over here: https://www.mechatalk.net/viewtopic.php?p=398771#p398771 My own fan theory is that the first block has engine problems, and the Sub-WB type(that ugly Thoroughbred we see in FG parking next to WB and another called Troy Horse being the same design) was just a fas...

Re: Main Gun on the Pegasus Class Ships
As for the other Pegasus class ships; the Albion has two beam guns, and according to the wiki, so do "most" Pegasus class ships, like the Thoroughbred and the Blanc Rival, it's been awhile since I've read Space to The End of a Flash, and the Blanc Rival is probably the most obscure Pegasu...

Re: Main Gun on the Pegasus Class Ships
I always thought it was unique that the 580mm dual barrel main gun on the white base was a solid shell firing weapon. I saw this snippet on the Gundam Wikia, it's not repeated on the MAHQ profile so I'm curious as to how accurate it is. "The White Base's main and most powerful armament was a 5...

Re: Mons Series?
Thanks, I remember years ago reading Narutaru (an extremely disturbing Mons deconstruction, I don't intend to read again). And I'd noticed it started in 1998, just after Pokemon began. So it seemed odd to do a deconstruction on a genre that had seemingly just began(for context darker genre shows of...

Re: Mons Series?
Look up TV Tropes, there's this card game called Obake Karuta created in the Edo period. Obake Karuta is different though. It is a game where someone reads a short poem, and the other players will compete in grabbing the corresponding card as fast as possible. They collect the cards during the game...

Re: Mons Series?
So exactly where did the whole Mons (Ie Pokemon, Digimon, Kids and mini monster thing) start? Was Pokemon the first franchise to use this? Or did the idea come earlier? If you are talking about a series about capturing monsters and using them to fight against other monsters, Megami Tensei series(fi...

Why would you say that? He's been credited for English Supervision for every Gundam release for quite a while. He's the reason we have standardized names and terminology. I haven't been paying that much attention to the credits., usually just switch to other things when the credits starts and just ...

Seeing Mark Simmons as English language check in the credits feels kinda funny.

Re: How fast is the Hyaku Shiki really?
I noticed that the Zeta Gundam's thruster output is listed on the Japanese wikipedia as the sum of the skirt and leg thrusters. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%96%E3%82%AC%E3%83%B3%E3%83%80%E3%83%A0 But for the Hyaku Shiki it seems to be the four thrusters on the backpack, judging by the uniformi...

Re: Domed City Travel?
So its established in Gundam that travel to Earth from the Colonies and Lunar cities is restricted, but what about the (admittedly few) domed cities on Earth? In Victory Gundam we see the one off Undersea City of Underhook on an island in the Gulf of Mexico, While in Gundam the Origin there's the D...

Re: RX-78 Atmospheric reentry tested
That's really neat, does the paper talk about what heat transfer they detected for the particular reentry angle it used? Probably to some point, because it said the heat is cut by a certain percent with the Eureka 7 surfing pose over the hands in front pose, but since the actual paper has to be a m...

Re: Fluid pulse vs. field motor
From what I can see, the record is somewhat divided on the topic. Older material generally leans toward the idea that those are transfer pipes for the fluid pulse system. Newer material leans towards the idea that it is a radiative cooling system for the reactor. Older material I remember seeing po...

Re: Fluid pulse vs. field motor
The cables aren't for the fluid pulse system iirc. They are for cooling, and they are put outside of the armour because of over heating issues. The MS-05 don't have those but they reached the limit of what their tech can do with surface cooling, thus in the MS-06 they turned to adding cables for the...

Re: Anime recommendations
Although Galient is a rare fantasy mecha series, it's definitely not isekai. Well, iseki or not, I think we get quite some fantasy mecha series in late 80's and during the 90's? Other than those mentioned, non isekai examples we get L-Gaim, FSS, Peachboy Legend, Hepoi(the castles are mecha), Ryu kn...
