It looks like Exia R2 did NOT have a storage tank conversion like 0 Gundam did, hence it being useless without a GN Drive. Yeah I thought so too, but my point was more like : Why do it for an over 20 years old Gundam while you can do it for a newer one. And I don't think it took sooo long restoring...

I assume they are most likely in the chest of the suit on top of each other in a over-under design with the GN particles piped to the Veriners. I don't think Celestial Being would put a drive in jepdordy like that by having it...

I don't think the main probelm was the structure of the arm, but rather Setsuna's ability to fix the GN conduits to actually power that arm.
