Re: Core Fighter Power?

So individually, how powerful would the Core Fighters be in battle? They seem way more powerful than the Saberfish and Tin Cod: and definitely outclassed the Dopp in battle, but how would they hold up in battle against regular MS? Based on Master Archive Mobile Suit , Core Fighters in general are r...

Re: Jaburo History?

Maybe it was some kind of remote fortress or command center (like Greenbrier Bunker or NORAD, or something). Like if the worst case scenario happened , it was a underground city the Federation government could flee to. Given that Jaburo was specifically chosen for its size and its natural defenses ...

Re: Jaburo History?

So is it ever explained when exactly Jaburo was built? Was it built at the start of the Universal Century? Or was it built in the UC 70's? The only informative I can easily find is in the Origin(which falls into the whole manga/anime canon thing) which seems to indicate that Jaburo is fairly new, o...

Re: Mobile Suit Grand Prix?

So what exactly is the Mobile Suit Grand Prix? It's mentioned in Gundam AGE that Woolf Enneacle was a Mobile Suit "Racer" You answered your own question here. It's a race. Given its name, probably an endurance-type race similar to the original "Grand Prix" automobile racing styl...

Re: How powerful was the Hyaku Shiki?

By comparsion to the other AEUG units, How powerful was the Hyaku Shiki? Would it be considered more powerful than the Gundam MK II? Would it be on the same level as the Zeta? Also why was the Hyaku Shiki given a second unit? Was there always a replacement unit built by Anaheim that was given to th...

Re: Macross 7 and Frontier Timeline.

Admittedly I'm not that interested in Delta either (I still debate whether or not to buy the eventual Blu-Ray release), so it's mostly limited to shows I'm really in to. I remember the old Gundam Guide (which I think Mark Simmons worked on) has an some of the official timelines in the Margins. And ...

Re: Macross 7 and Frontier Timeline.

So... the Macross Compendium has a (fairly) detailed timeline of the events of Macross shows where dates are given in official materials, except for Macross Delta . The translators contributing to it, myself included, are pretty apathetic towards Macross Delta as a whole and haven't yet bothered to ...

Re: Macross 7 and Frontier Timeline.

So various Gundam series have official Timelines, as does the first Macross. So are their any official Timelines for 7 ,Frontier and Delta? Those three titles are all part of the same timeline. Kawamori et. al. favor a broad strokes attitude towards continuity with respect to the different versions...

Re: Macross Release?

I'm probably going avoid spoilers and still check these out when they finally get an international release, if nothing else the battle scenes should be cool. However there were so many issues with Delta (not the least of which being it was kind of dull and underwhelming at times, particularly when ...

Master Archive mentions several different types of ammunition for the hyper bazooka including two separate types of submunition rounds... one being the aforementioned shot shell and another with armor-piercing submunitions.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

So does that mean the film will be released internationally on Blu Ray in September, or just in Japan? I know Big West is supposed to release Macross internationally, but it doesn't seem clear when that's going to happen. That's not exactly a Valkyrie question, but hey... Just in Japan, AFAIK. The ...

Re: Macross Release?

It's possible the film could fix things somewhat. The Reconguista in G movies actually improved on the tv series, granted they retold the entire story, so that may be why. Macross Delta: Passionate Walkure was a single-film recap of the entire TV series story. Macross Delta: Absolute Live!!!!!! is ...

3. To better suit his particularly embarrassing sobriquet, Full Frontal spends the entirety of Gundam UC wearing only his mask and a Char Custom red banana hammock with gold trim. Everyone notices but steadfastly refuses to acknowledge his bizarre sartorial decision. there is, however, a gratuitous...

Re: What changes would you make to certain Gundam series?

How are the points actually BAD? Do you want an itemized list, or... Put simply, a lot of it is simply unnecessary. For instance, we don't need to know the exact circumstances of how Sorun Ibrahim became a member of Celestial Being. It doesn't matter to the story. What DOES matter is that Ribbons s...

We're all talking about how powerful the twin Buster rifle is ... they were talking about it twelve years ago . The last post here was from 2010! Well, if nothing else, the Macross Frontier: Labyrinth of Time short film should be interesting.

As big a mess as Macross Delta's story has been, my hopes aren't high for the final installment of that chapter in the series.

Re: Relative Cost of Ships in Gundam

Technically yes, but you need enough communications capabilities to give commands or it doesn't really work for the fleet commander. I guess in the early days it means waving flags because that is the only way of communication back then.(shouting doesn't work well once you are further apart) True, ...

Re: Relative Cost of Ships in Gundam

As for the Pegasus class it's a good question why none of them were used as Flagships. It seems the Federation didn't really make a 'Flagship' class until the Birmingham in 0083. The Pegasus class for the most part tend to be part of Autonomous units which is convenient when you're trying to write ...
