Re: Zanscare controlled territory.

Alas, most of that is probably unknown. All we know is that the Zanscare had incredible success compared to Zeon. Up until the Angel Halo anyway, where they seemed to be running out of forces. But up until that point the Federation seemed largely non-existent. Personally, I always considered the Zan...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

People obviously don't pay any attention to what the franchise actually is then. For one thing, it was already a existing concept albeit a obscure manga, but it also came about YEARS earlier with GUNPLA BUILDERS which most people enjoyed overall. Plus, its a SPIN-OFF series, no different from how S...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

Oh how much potential the series' concept had. But Gundam AGE's writers were just NOT up to the task at all to build the world around it. More episodes would have helped though, assuming the writers could be even mildly competent. It was just too harsh a storyline for a kid's story. Which is the iro...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE Thread Mk I

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of the bird developer in Divers to actually BE one of the ancients from the Dogworld. (can't remember the planet's name... blast it, no pun intended). Cuadorn reminds me waaaay to much of her. It may even explain EVERYTHING about Divers, if the ent...

Re: Arbiter's Corner

Glad to see you back, Arbiter. I descend from my own lurking portal to greet thee, fellow ancient of the days when the internet was more sociable. And the fandom yet to be consigned to the graveyard of posts. :D You're insights are all more or less on point with mine, so I won't waste too much room ...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE Thread Mk I

I'm thinking Hiroto's dad is actually responsible for the story mission. Just a wild guess. And I'm assuming his childhood friend is actually the girl he met in the diveverse.

The Core Gundam has officially impressed me. I really like both its forms.

Re: Gundam Seed Movie Status

I could honestly see bio-titans like AoT being a thing. Stargazer had them and it would be a logical next step in the string of horrible genetic transhumanism that was a core factor of Seed. "Maybe old Rau was right after all?" could be a question Lacus and Friends must wrestle with. Until...

Re: Gundam Seed Movie Status

Maybe Lacus will hit her head on something and turn violently evil? Or perhaps the Spacewhales do in fact come and bring an Evangelion-esque Newtype Instrumentality. And make Kira their prophet. Yes, yes they basically did that to Setsuna in the 00 movie. So make him Gendo. Evil prophet. Those space...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

And that now makes Angel Halo all that much more terrifying a creation. Forget giant space lasers. Time manipulation all the way.

The future that is the bizarre Reguild Century of G-Reconguista now makes worlds more sense than it used to make.

Re: Why are Voltron and Power Rangers more mainstream and popular in the West than Gundam and Evangelion?

Aaaand yet, some family of mine, who are even willing to watch disgustingly animated shows like Black Clover, refuse to so much as try a Gundam show, and even feel like their intelligence is insulted for being asked. So go figure. There is a definite hatred for mecha in all the areas of anime fandom...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

I just finished a rewatch of Encounters in Space. An interesting quote from Lalah as she dies: "One day Humanity might be able to control time itself." Or something to that effect. Then she tells Amuro that "I see time!" Then we have Zeta's whole "You will see the tears of t...

Re: Frozen Teardrops ends officially!

Funny. I just finished a rewatch of Gundam Wing, err, its final 10 episodes at least. And I must say, I would really rather pretend that is the end of it, bar EW. And let us just pretend Frozen Teardrop stays frozen in some deep, deep place where we put our most despised memories.

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

True, but it is the only excuse I would accept for such a thing to be present in UC. The Unicorn's crazy crystal growths and diffusion of the Gryps laser was already too much for me to stomach. If they're going for the full-fledge newtype magic arts powers with this, they might as well go all the wa...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

Seeing Mineva hiding out in RoZ controlled Side 3 made my day, and wearing her father's uniform. *Sheds tear* I wonder if she will use the Phenex to go back in time to interact with her family? That would be very interesting. And I guess they got rid of Banagher and Rhidde? As in, "disassembled...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

I would love to see stuff from the Second Century era. Definitely how they seem to be alluding to the beginning of the Newtype scarcity that was alluded to in F91 and later on (especially) in Victory. All the more fuel for the lonely fire that is hope for manga adaptions, specifically of the origina...

Re: Fafner THE BEYOND - New preview

We don't know. I assume it is a movie just to be pessimistic, because another series would definitely be in order, and I somehow feel like the producers were pushing it to assume they'd get one. Then again, considering the high quality of Exodus, I wouldn't be altogether surprised we get a full leng...

I will pretend I chose not to log onto Mechatalk today and leave here the disturbing news that I found. If this movie somehow survives to plague the box office, I will be surprised when I see the first previews wherever they happen to ambush me. :P Edit: in response to Seito Kaiba: Amuro did not cur...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

Speaking of next week's episode, one may speculate it to be one of two revelations: A. That GBN was created to continue playing gunpla battles without the risk of actual damage to the kits, something that GPD implemented eversince its launch yet was costly to players especially students. B. Players...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

Enjoyable episode. It had its moments, certainly. And that AGE-2 the champion pilots is one sweet ride. at least the show gave us some great and unique spins on mobile suits. The main villain, Tsukasa was his name? Seems almost like a person from a serious Gundam show talking, complaining about lie...
