The Dakar episodes with Leina made her my favorite Gundam girl ever. I absolutely adore her.
She's on my future cosplay list, even though I'm not sure anyone would recognize me. LOL

Re: Double Zeta: What do you think about it?
Double Zeta was certainly much more enjoyable than I had been lead to believe it would be.

Re: Double Zeta: What do you think about it?
The whole show makes Neo Zeon look incompetent at best. Aside from Glemy later; whom they make a point of following, everyone else just seems, well, downright stupid most of the time. It's like they take the whole 'Neo Zeon pilots are all n00bs' to a ridiculous degree. I guess this presentation as a...

Re: Ethnicity, Language, Religion and Nationalism in UC
Amuro isn't Japanese, at least not in any obvious way.
Many of the main Gundam pilots have dubious ethnicity at best. The only people I can think of who are overtly Japanese are Hayato Kobayashi and Shiro Amada. Koh Uraki probably fits in there as well.

Re: Zeta Gundam: Why is it so great?
I was just curious to see if there was a trend, that's all.
I suppose asking why Zeta is better than any other show is kind of like asking why Chocolate ice cream is better than Vanilla. You may prefer one over the other; or maybe you don't like either, but that doesn't make one good or bad.

Re: Double Zeta: What do you think about it?
I know that by the end of Zeta the AEUG and EFF were running on a parallel course to fight the Titans, ( if you can call what the EFF does 'fighting' these days,) but I don't remember when exactly the EFF took over the AEUG, if ever. I never remember anyone saying anything about it, but I DO remembe...

Re: Zeta Gundam: Why is it so great?
I've got a serious two questions for everyone here:
1. How old are you people?
2. What was your first Gundam series?
These two questions may help explain why some people like Zeta better than others.

Re: Double Zeta: What do you think about it?
Loads of people bad-mouth Double Zeta; and I can see why people would say its not the best, but I certainly don't believe it's the worst. I enjoyed the comedy, but sometimes I felt it was inappropriate. I really liked the cast, but I have to wonder how the Argama was able to do all that it did witho...

I brought up Tigerbaum, so I suppose you're allowed to bring up Moon Moon. XD
I can't believe I'd forgotten about Banagher and Marida talking in that little church. That would probably be a great example of how religion has changed with the migration to space.

Re: Zeta Gundam: Why is it so great?
I've seen it described as 'good people making bad decisions', and I happen to agree with this. A lot of people within the series are really neither good or bad, their just people. Jamitov, Scirocco only care about power, and the means justifies the end. The people in the AEUG want to make things bet...

Re: Ethnicity, Language, Religion and Nationalism in UC
Not accurate at all. If everyone pray on the street then there's no reason to build a mosque. The prayer call is authentic though. I'm honestly not surprised. Well, Gato talks about God being on his side. Perhaps he's a semi-religious man? I wouldn't say that religion is a total non-player in space...

Re: Ethnicity, Language, Religion and Nationalism in UC
Double Zeta touches on this a little, as there is an African independence movement that allies its self with Neo Zeon. They talk about wanting to end domination by Western powers (they refer to all Europeans as Frenchman,) and you also see some practicing Muslims stop for noon day prayers. (though I...

Re: Double Zeta: What do you think about it?
I kind of feel the same way. Once things sobered up it did get better. Judau was a refreshing main character, too. I liked the fact that he was; more or less, and 'ordinary' kid. Not that his situation was that ordinary, but that he had real-life concerns- taking care of his sister, providing the bo...

Double Zeta: What do you think about it?
I just finished watching, and I don't have any idea how to feel about this show. I like most of the cast well enough, but the story leaves a whole lot to be desired. The sad thing about it is that there's a whole lot of potential there. Even more Cyber-Newtype weirdness, loads of new mobile suits, n...

I wasn't sure about Advance of Zeta, but maybe I'll go back and look it up.
I like what I've read so far of Origin, but the problem is that it only goes up so far in English. I'm really hoping they'll do a (re)release of Origin in English.

Re: ZZ opening....
No odder than showing the surviving White Base crew in the opening of Zeta. It's said Char was going to show up halfway through ZZ...until CCA got greenlighted and his role was assumed by Glemmy. If Char had been around, it would have made his appearance in the first opening for ZZ more understanda...

Re: Canon Side Stories-Gundam
I don't really get this concept of anime and manga/written works being essentially unrelated myself, but I understand that it's just the way it is.
Is there a reason for this? Or is it just to keep timeline clutter to a minimum?

Re: is episode 15 of MSG included in the anime legends rerel
Honestly if you don't already own it, I'd say go for it. I've only got about half of MSG on DVD currently, and I still plan on buying the Anime Legends release. I haven't heard about any changes to the format, ( aside from the aforementioned 'missing' episode 15) but Zeta Gundam's beginning and open...

Re: ZZ opening....
You still see Zeta a lot throughout Double Zeta. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the intro. I find it pretty odd that they show Char there myself.
