Re: Infantry Firearms in the Universal Century?

Well, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" as they say. Consider that the M1911 pistol is a century old and still going strong in some places, after all, so it's fairly reasonable for the Universal Century to assume modern-day pistols may carry this tradition on. Not to mention that focus ha...

Re: Good Mech show recommendations

I did see Giant Robo and didn't like it much. I am not a fan of fanservice and find it annoying. There is next to no fanservice in Giant Robo. You've either seen those stupid Ginrei Specials(shallow cash-ins that have little to do with what actual Giant Robo OVA is about) or you're mistaking the sho...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk III

Just looked the new pics of the characters for episode 4. When I read that the new zeon pilots where classified as "Zeon Ruminants" and not the "Sleeves" I got really excited. Something about some forces hold up in hiding waiting for there day to attack just seems so cool to me....

Re: Infantry Firearms in the Universal Century?

So they never bother to invent new firearms in the future, relying on tried and true that has been around since before space immigration? :|

I guess everything goes into Mobile Weapons and stuff.

Re: Anti-Beam Coating In ZZ

Still, the Qubeley at least was noticeably damaged anyway (missing one of its shoulder binders and obvious aesthetic damage anyway), which goes to show just how powerful the full power of the high mega cannon is. The fact that the kinetic force of the High Mega rammed Qubeley right through a thick ...

Re: Anti-Beam Coating In ZZ

Thanks for the input. FAEZZ's "I-Field" has been the topic of debate for ages. It's never been said as far as I know, but it very much appears to have one based on how nonchalant Judau is when the beams are stopped by the Doven Wolves. He doesn't seem to be displaying anywhere near the sor...

Re: Anti-Beam Coating In ZZ

Psyco Mk.II survives the Hyper Mega Cannon in episode 36.It's the episode where Ple 2 gets into action and causes Ple 1 a death ,making enraged Judau go all Bio-Sensor on her. FA ZZ tanks Quin Mantha's barrage in episode forty-six,during the whole battle with the NZ-000,the one where Glemy gets into...

Anti-Beam Coating In ZZ

So,as we are normally told and shown,anti-beam coating is this relatively low effeciency defense measure that provides limited protection from beam weaponry, normally giving up after a couple of consecutive shots from an average beam rifle...someone forgot to inform Psyco Mk.II and Full Armor ZZ. Now...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II

Yeah,I remember Unicorn ripped right through them with it's bear arms.Makes you wonder just how much brute strength it has. Come to think of it,there are examples of RX-0's mechanical power in the anime as well: Episode 1-Crushes Kshatryia's in its palm, along with NZ-666's finger or two,If i remembe...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1

AGE is already turning one of the Gundam tropes on it's head-instead of the pilot getting himself some mid season Gundam upgrades,it's the Gundam that is going to recieve a mid season pilot upgrade,twice.Hilarious.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk I

Since Psychoframe is circuitry, isn't it a structural weakness to have it all exposed when armor opens up in in NT-D?Sure,it is handsomely compensated by I-Field and the overall mobility increase, but it still seems like a weakness and a design flow to me. Is it absolutely neccessary to have it expose...

Re: What's Your Latest Game? Mk III

Not counting the games I've replayed at my uncle's house,Vanquish. Vanquish is a pretty cool game that takes your standard cover-shooter formula and induces it with faster pace, agressive play and more SHMUP-like dynamic.Awesome. I found all the jet-pack and slow-mo to be more gimmicks than substanti...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk III

I guess the question of Unicorn's mecha animation supremacy also depends on whether certain shorts of Robot Carnival can be considered mecha or not. But then again, none of the shorts I'm thinking about contain giant man-driven robots,so I guess not. Whatever's the case,Unicorn definately r...

Re: Giant swords, are they feasible?

Think of the broadswords of the Goths or Vikings, they were heavy sure, but they were still used to great effect, and certainly weren't unwieldy. Weren't Viking swords singlehanders? On topic:I can't see how such swords would be feasible even back when swords mattered, much less for futuristic warfa...
