Real Life equivalent of scattering MP?
The US Navy has recently tested a new anti-ship missile countermeasure system using an obscurant generator prototype. The systems and tactics were tested under a variety of at-sea conditions using assets from the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force to evaluate how radar-absorbing, carbon-fiber clouds ca...

Re: Real-Life Advantages of Mechs in Military Use
MythSearcher's post make me believe limbs-equipped machine will do fantastic in space. This coming from me who like anyone else who enjoyed sci-fi tend to perceive future space combat will be fought between gigantic space vessels alongside with small fighters and bombers. Like babylon 5's star fury,...

Re: This seemed like a weird CE related ship oversight
What Kirby's talking about has happened in the real world. Take the massively-expensive Seawolf-class SSN, the most advanced and quite possibly the most expensive hunter-killer submarine ever built. Only three of them were ever built, but the technological innovations that were created for the Seaw...

Re: Jet fighters no more, why stop using them?
Problem seems to arise that when Zeon MS came everything was done to fought them but oddly not involving designing and producing better aircraft, related aerial weaponry, artillery or any other hardware that's not MS-related. If BVR guidance missile if obsolete you could always try high speed IR see...

Re: This seemed like a weird CE related ship oversight
That's reasonable, but it just shifts the question. Instead of "why didn't they build more Archangel s?", the question becomes "why didn't they apply the technology of the Archangel to a new ship class?". There's the Girty Lue , but that's a plausibly-deniable specops stealth ca...

Re: Episode 30 - Riders in the Skies
- Team 3 – The bazooka didn’t give quite the impact Irene hoped for. She didn’t know the Kalinin’s forward section along with its missile launcher was already destroyed earlier. Thanks to that effort one of the Titans ship's AA guns send a warm welcome. The Rick Dias launched to the side before ope...

Re: Miscellaneous questions
Actually the desert that Shiro and team patrolled, the one that Shiro clogged his ground gundam leg filter. Where was it? Gobi desert near northwest of China? If that's the case any mountain north of Mongolia is also properly cold and snow laden, there's Altai mountain range reasonably near the Gobi...

Re: Red Comet's Real Plan?
remake and flashback tend to horrify me after what Sunrise had done to Zeta-trilogy. let the 1980's animation rest in peace. I don't even mind if they re-cast the whole voice actor department, I think a proper reboot is necessary. They have good story anyway, instead of trying to wed Wing and UC int...

Re: Perfect Zeong's legs
It still works tho, Perfect Zeong can also means the other Zeong isn't as perfect or still incomplete. Why bother renaming. Meanwhile, I do have some questions. Do the big leg part also add something to the unit's weaponry, survivability or increase firepower? If not, why not adding detachable foot ...

Re: Red Comet's Real Plan?
Actually, who is this fake Char Aznable identity really is? I mean he must've writing bogus background to support his fake ID, but I don't remember reading anything about that bit. Seeing that Char gets buddy-buddy with Dozle although it can be related to the latter's type of personality than anythi...

Re: Red Comet's Real Plan?
Well that sums up pretty nice. We know possibilities from certain what-if scenarios, and we know what he actually did prior to Zeta and up to CCA era. I wonder what's his Myers-Briggs personality type is.

Re: Red Comet's Real Plan?
Whoa, simply fascinating. I did know about the novel, the one that Red Comet bested Amuro and joining up with the White Base but I didn't know that he also taking over the Principality. and this is coming out from such authoritative person like Tomino himself. Making this version a grey-official but...

Re: Red Comet's Real Plan?
But the Char in Zeta is a byproduct from what happenend in OYW. I could argue that if things gone differently for the Red Comet the outcome or the produced Char maybe different. The constant failure to stop Amuro and the failure to take revenge as he wanted along with the Principality losing the war...

Re: Could Zeon have taken Jaburo without the White base?
While I tend to agree with RGM but what Gelgoog Jager said also true about EF lacked production capabilities, at least to some degree. The unfulfilled Vinson Plan may indicate the problems faced by EF to produce such quantity of ships. However, it is also logical if they tend use Vinson Plan as a gu...

Re: Could Zeon have taken Jaburo without the White base?
I assume 0081 is a game? I don't know much about Gundam related games. By you mean "to target earth", with what? Rock, debris, bombs? Another thing came to mind. Just how large rock they need to launch in order to get enough impact to be effective anyway? I imagine the earth atmosphere bur...

Re: Red Comet's Real Plan?

From paid Principality pilot into some kind of quasi high ranking leader complete with financial, political and military backings. But enough with Zeta related stuff. Returning back to th...

Re: Could Zeon have taken Jaburo without the White base?
I'm still trying to find what Gelgoog Jager said about Lunar Mass Driver. I can't find enough and even wiki only said it was used on Feb 0079 to launch MS from Lunar to participate on Zeon Earth Invasion. However, I did find something that said Zeon also used it to launch something else, like big ro...

Re: Could Zeon have taken Jaburo without the White base?
It is difficult to project alternate events based on the canon timeline, because after the success of Odessa the ZMF was preparing to abandon Earth for space, and the strike against Jaburo was indeed a desperate venture. But if Odessa was postponed again, the strategic initiative would have passed ...

Re: Could Zeon have taken Jaburo without the White base?
The IGLOO stories did show that conventional forces could hold Zakus at bay, but it also showed the high cost involved. All the EFF could do was break even, after being pushed thousands of kilometers away from the Zeon invasion landing sites. Throwing numbers at the ZMF prevented immediate defeat b...
