Re: You know Char's plan in CCA is actually kind of stupid.

Y'know, I never thought Char intended to lose -- nor do I think that Char's plan to drop Axis was mostly diversionary in nature. I think Char truly meant to kill two birds with one stone. (Gee, it all sounds rather metaphorical when you attach that old adage, doesn't it?) Char is nothing if not prou...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1

I wonder how they're going to juggle these generation gaps, exactly? Spacing it all out linearly would be boring; as soon as one character grew on us, it'd be off to his descendant. My bet is that they're going to interweave them together -- perhaps starting with the POV of Frite, and flashing back...

Re: A Baoa Qu Q & A

The Battle of A Baoa Qu basically exhausted the EFSF again, so occupying the space fortress for any meaningful period of time would have tied up resources that they didn't have. The re-established Republic of Zeon, on the other hand, still had fighting strength, but had no leaders willing to continu...

Re: Known MSV-R so far

Also, some new information for the mysterious Gelgoog: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/YFX-600R_GuAIZ_EFT/MS-14C-1Ah.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/YFX-600R_GuAIZ_EFT/MS-14C-1Ag.jpg Basically this indicates that it has a "crushable armor" and its armor material is Gunda...

Re: White Base: The Combat Record

While it might make no sense outside of the fictional universe... The Mobile Suit Gundam MSV-R: Return of Johnny Ridden manga might give us an interesting way to help us reconcile some of these numbers. If only slightly. Chapter 3 concentrates on the RB-79M Locker Ball, and seems to indicate that t...

Re: staring into the sun

Images on a Mobile Suit's panoramic screen are just computer simulations; simulations amalgamated from cameras and sensors located throughout the Mobile Suit's body. It's not like Kamille was looking at a direct feed of the surrounding space. That said, yes, the cameras themselves would proba...

Re: G-Forces

"Kicking off ships" wouldn't explain the context in which this is used in the animation. In the episode in question, Char's unmanned Zaku is launched from the Musai's catapult. He boards it en route, and flies through empty space towards the White Base, at which point the bridge operators...

Re: Zeon in Africa?

Heh, long ago I was in the midst of writing a fanfic about the Zeonic forces in Africa... then lost motivation and stopped. We know that Bitter's Kinbareid forces, Rommel's remnants, and the Midnight Fenrir are all in Africa at the end of the war -- and I believe that an installment of Gundam Legacy...

Re: F***'n mono-eyes, how do they work?

Also, at least it seemed to be so during the One Year War, not many mobile suits were equipped with the multiple cameras. I believe this to be the case with the RX-78-2. Amuro says that famous line of his after Char blasts the Gundam's head off because he's a Newtype who can sense, not because he h...

Re: Retreat

Okay, two things: - First, the EDIT button is your friend; Double-posting is generally frowned upon around here. - Second, I don't believe there's any information as to what sector exactly the Delaz fleet were deployed in during the Battle of A Baoa Qu. At least, I have never seen any, and GO makes...

Re: Random OYW Questions

According to the "Encounters in Space" side story, they were rolled out in time to be launched into space along with the rest of the Federation fleet, so this would probably be in November or December depending on when you think the launch took place. :-) Speaking of the Lost War Chronicl...

Re: Random OYW Questions

So how many test teams have been officially stated? The only one I know of for the Feddies is the one from Lost War Chronicles. That's about it. The one from Lost War Chronicles isn't really a test team; as I noted, they're officially classified as "MS Special Forces". On the whole, the F...

Thanks Mark! That was a whole lot to take in! Very helpful though! So how many test teams have been officially stated? The only one I know of for the Feddies is the one from Lost War Chronicles. Re: More Markings Madness

I know it's kind of on a tangent, but I noticed that the marking on Johnny Ridden's Hi-Mo Gelgoog is 010 . What? Is it "Autonomous Corps, First Team, Commander's Unit"? Because that's my best guess. Otherwise, I'm totally lost. Any other Chimera Corps numbers that we know of? Checking Dalo...

Re: What do you want to see in the next Gundam series?

What I want: stop with the black-and-white morality crap. I want my protagonists fighting for flawed governments, getting orders that they don't really like and having to deal with them, and killing others so they won't get killed themselves. And I want it to stay that way; no starting out that way,...

Re: The RGM production Tree

There's actually a detailed explanation of this in the new Master Archive book discussed here . According to this book, the story goes something like this: The standard RGM-79A, like the Zaku II, was designed mainly with space combat in mind. Although it could be used on Earth, it didn't work as we...

Re: Shiny New Info from the Master Archive

Interesting. I always thought the C-type was Luna II's pet variant (at least at first), but here it's saying it was created at Jaburo -- and in late November, no less! Where were all these C-types during Char's attack on Jaburo?

Re: RX-78-1 Prototype Gundam

RX-78-7 [Incomplete] ----> FA-78-3 [Not Assembled] ----> FHA-78-3 [Not Assembled] Clearly, this account is in need of an update if Battlefield Record UC 0081 is anything to go by. Not only is the 7th Gundam eventually completed, but the Full Armor 7th and Heavy Full Armor 7th are also assembled and...
