Does this link still work for anyone else? It seems to be giving errors (DNS PROBE NX DOMAIN) for me.

Re: UC elitist fans...

Yes, it is confusing and I thought that too when I initially wrote the draft. But it is true that for Konami their FY2020 begins on April 1st 2019 and ends on March 31st 2020 (and same goes for previous years) . This Konami Group Report PDF shows in a clear way on the title: https://www.konami.com/i...

Re: UC elitist fans...

Best they can hope for at this point is to go bankrupt and allow Kojima/Iga to then pick up all their IPs and pull an SNK Playmore on them, I suppose. https://www.konami.com/ir/en/financialinfo/sales.html https://www.konami.com/ir/en/ir-data/meeting.html Konami going bankrupt anytime soon is unlike...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

So how is Kannazuki no Miko? would it be classified primarily as a romance? A Mecha Mahou Shojo? or both? I would say its primarily romance with a Mecha Monster of The Week spice to it. A lot of drama in the romance too and generally speaking I loved it. Never really saw it as a magical girl show a...

Studio Nue's 1988 anime adaptation actually followed the design descriptions to the letter.
Wait......there's an anime adaptation of Starship Troopers? :o

I must watch it. That's one of my favorite sci-fi novels.

Re: What's Next for Gundam Anime?

I would want another Gundam AU TV Series. I definitely much prefer it to another UC movie or OVA adapation (unless its later on in the timeline or something).

There is no canon in Gundam, anything goes. They will try to fit it but if there's a contradiction here and there, they just roll with it.

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

According to a few sources (That claim to link to a Newtype article) Gundam Age was originally supposed to be aired over a year and a half. At approximately 78 episodes that would have been the longest single Gundam series, and probably longer than most other Real Robot genre series(Only Dougram at...

Re: What kind of education does a mecha engineer need?

This discussion line is in regards to Gundam AGE. Kinda, just that it ignores internal structure and somehow gives out rounded/sharpened edges when the original mould(?) is a lot more like a series of cuboids lumped together gets on my nerve. Also whatever things it chucks out can simply be pre-made...

Re: IBO MSV

All Gundams have the AV System during the Calamity War. That was one of the things that made them special since the Twin Reactors require AV to bring out their full potential. They could however be removed later, as was the case with Brewers' Gusion setup, before Tekkadan reinstalled it for their Re...

Re: Aeolia Schenberg's plan to push human evolution

What do you think Celestial Beings used to attract the Observers to their cause, especially the first benefactors who would never enjoy the fruits of their sponsorship? I mean, the daily cost of running Celestial Beings/Fereste must have been really big. Padding it out for two centuries, faciliting...

Re: Aeolia Schenberg's plan to push human evolution

As far as I could remember, one of the 00V Senki chapters mentioned that what specifically causes Innovation is GN Particles in Trans Am state. Ian mused he was a little worried about the ESF possessing this system after Season 2 because it can be abused. Ribbons also wanted Original GN Drives by th...

Re: Which era of Gundam is your favorite?

It's an especially odd complaint given how the women in the series were drawn, which was a VERY fanservice-y style that left no doubt the character designer likes his women on the curvy side. On the fanservice women note, personally I don't think most of the 00 female designs are like that. I woul...

Re: Which era of Gundam is your favorite?

i just recently looked at Gundam 00. The concept is nice...but i simply can't get past the feminine character designs for the male heroes and the main mobile suits and some of the male side characters. it's like they had an agenda with doing this. it kinda takes me out of the show abit. other than ...

Re: Which era of Gundam is your favorite?

Eh... probably either the Anno Domini or Post-Disaster works, 2007-2017 AU stuff. Yeah, the HD era would be my favorite too. 00 and IBO are my top favorites personally. I love the mecha designs of 00, AGE and IBO in general. The mecha lore of 00 and IBO I especially enjoyed too. The UC releases dur...

Re: Gravitational Sensors

I don't see how a gravitational sensor would be useful for milssiles since they tend to be very low mass. Then again I'm unfamiliar with Dragonar in general so maybe something specific to that world. Unless they are needed to detect something that generates gravitational waves. The Ahab Reactors fro...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVIII

Thanks for this, sounds really cool. I like the idea of localized Trans Am or limited ones that can use during limited actions.

Using a GN Drive Tau is also a cool idea compared to their usual MO of using GN Condensers as the main powersource for their older models.

Enjoyed the movie. Wish it wasn't an alternate reality though. I just ignore Shirley's one pointless 20 second scene plus the two other times she was mentioned and pretend its a continuation of the TV series. It is pretty easy to do mentally since the movie is pretty much 99% in sync with the TV S...

Re: Evangelion's Netflix Dub

All I can say is that I really love the anime, regardless of whether it did change anime or not. Just enjoyed the story and setting (including EoE) despite me myself personally rejecting Anno's message.
