Re: NK possibly shutting down in March '11. More sources?

I really can't blame the guy for throwing in the towel. It takes a certain kind of personality to put up with that sort of thing, and unselfish kindness usually isn't it. It's unfortunate, but the Gundam fan community has spoken. My full thoughts on the subject can be found here: http://www.mttlg.ne...

Re: The Official Gundam 00 Season 2 Dub Thread

Back to 00, the animation of Season 2 is far superior to DESTINY or the first season of 00. But, despite my other "complaints"--which I think amounted to a feeling that the story was too all over the place and not developing the world and characters at a balanced rate--I think I was at le...

Bandai discontinued North Americam distribution of Gundam toy products several years ago. Everything that was stocked by TRU, Wal-Mart, Target, Kay-Bee, et al. has long since been cleared out. Until Bandai comes up with a new strategy for the North American market (don't hold your breath), you will ...

Just like with the fleshy kind of models, the pictures you see do not accurately represent the actual product. Since a 3" to 12" model won't have the same detail and color separation as the 50+ foot tall "real" thing, shortcomings will have to be fixed in post. What is shown on t...

Cutting technique is something that you just have to develop through experience. Pay attention to how the blade interacts with the plastic and you should figure out where to cut, what angle to cut at, how much force to apply, etc. Also watch how this behavior changes as the blade dulls. You should s...

Oh wow, dalong sure was able to snip the parts off the runners with no scars. HOW DO YOU DO THAT? I DONT SEE ANY SCARS OR SANDING AND IT LOOKS PERFECTLY CUT OUT! Any tips or techniques in doing cutting parts out with virtually no scars? Just look at the wings. In those pictures, most of the attachm...

The Action Base 2 comes with everything you see here:

You get two interlocking base pieces and one arm. If you want to pose two figures together, you'll need two Action Bases.

A single SAL shipment (1.5kg or less, the packaging weighs about 500g) will cost anywhere from 780 to about 2080 yen. If your order is over 1.5kg, they will ship it in two boxes. In general, I usually figure on about 1.5 yen per gram when comparing prices, but shipping can be as much as 2 yen/gram f...

I'll let someone else comment on the use of markers (don't want to get into that can of worms), but you seem to have a lot more questions than you realize. Starting at the end, yes, it is safe to assume that every visible part of a box picture (aside from special finish parts, translucent parts, unu...

Re: Gundam Merchandise (Toys, Models, etc.)

My question is what is happening to all the Gundam merchandise. I used to see the models in stores, but now I can't find any. Same thing goes for the action figures. Is Gundam losing it's appeal here in the states? That is my guess from what I've been seeing and reading from the short while I've be...

Unfortunately for me, Massachusetts seems to lack any means of local model kit stores. I only know of one decent model kits store in MA and its in Cambridge, which is sorta a long way to go just for a model kit. Well, there's also the Spare Time Shop in Marlborough. They're trying to get rid of the...

Amazon.com did have models, they may get some more, hard to tell. Technically, Amazon didn't have the models; Toys R Us had them and Amazon maintained the web storefront. However, Toys R Us recently ended its Amazon partnership and now maintains its own internet presence. The models that Amazon/TRU...
