Re: Specialized Beam Rifles

I think the F90II's sniper rifle is one of the most interesting. It fires both solid and beam rounds which is actually a brilliant idea for a sniper rifle.

Re: Remote weapons

The GX-bits are the same size as the Gundam X which means the pilot would essentially have to control at least 2 suits at once in order to use the GX-bit effectively. I've never seen Gundam X and the mahq page just says it has a flash system for a newtype to use. I'm going to assume this is like th...

Re: Remote weapons

I'm not quite clear on what you're asking but it really depends on the universe you're talking about. As a general rule though, bits are the the most versatile in that they don't have to return to the mobile suit to recharge since they have their own power sources. For UC, the Nu Gundam's Fin Funnel...

Re: Are Macross VF Packs Disposable?

And yet while that one guy dumps his super parts in episode 1, Ozma goes right on in still in his Armored configuration which is even less aerodynamic. If I recall that was because Ozma came in from a ground entrance and was in Gerwalk mode. Gilliam on the other hand came in from a hole in the dome...

Re: Are Macross VF Packs Disposable?

I would assume the packs are more or less expendable like the VFs themselves. If they can salvage the equipment after a mission, I'm sure they'll do so but it is no big deal if they're unable to. I'd say the survival of the pilot is the most important thing. As for discarding the pack in combat, it ...

Re: Mobile Suit Carriers

Honestly we have zero basis what so ever to answer this question. For one, mobile suits are not real and likely won’t be for the foreseeable future. And two, we don’t know what form mobile suits would take if they are ever built. I can say that a 15-20 meter tall humanoid robot is in no way practica...

The O’s Atmospheric Abilities

Obviously the O is incredibly maneuverable in space but I was curious how well this carried over when in the atmosphere due to its somewhat awkward design. I’m under the assumption that it can operate on Earth from non-canonical sources such as the O’s multiple appearances in games. Anyway, I was wo...

Re: Sci-Fi Channel's track record

They'd seemingly change their anime lineup at random. Often stopping shows mid run, only to re-continue them months later. As far as I'm concerned, it is nearly impossible to follow an anime on AS due to how often they shift their lineup without any prior warning.

Re: How to defeat the Moonlight Butterfly?

Pretty much the only "official" stuff in regards to Gundam is what you see in the animation. The anime obviously only hinted at Turn A's true power but the novel can be used to possibly paint a more complete picture. Even if the novel isn't exactly canon, it hasn't been proven incorrect ei...

Re: GX-9900 Gundam X

I would say the GX just has a conventional propulsion system like the other Gundams in AW. The microwaves seem to only be used for the the satellite cannon. Also the GX can function just fine without the microwave receiver as seen with the GX Divider. There looks to be a few verniers on the microwav...

Re: GX-9900 Gundam X

It looks to me to just be a highly reflective surface underneath. Likely just a solar panel of sorts for the microwave beam receiver.

Re: The Kemal Dynasty Spec Book

The only thing that comes to mind is an electromagnetic pulse. The problem then comes down to how generate a small scale EMP. EMPs are most commonly associated with nuclear detonations but it sounds like they can be generated on a smaller scale. The question is how small of a scale and how to pull i...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk I

That's a good point and I definitely agree it would take quite a bit of work for a UC series to be successful in NA. It will at least have new animation going for it though. I'm rather unfamiliar with Unicorn but how tied to the other UC series is it? Is it like the UC OVAs which could easily stand ...

Re: need some lecture on LCD tv

The new 2009 line of Samsung LCDs just came out last month and they look pretty decent. The lower end 32 inch 720p set has greatly improved contrast ratio over the 2008 line and the MSRB is 50 dollars less as well, at $550. The model is the LN32B360 but they're still not carried everywhere yet. Coul...

Basically, Turn A is a beast and the anime only hints at its true power.

Apparently there's a second season coming, probably this year. I hope it retcons the ending to the first season since that was a pathetic ending.

Re: Mazinger Z Remake

I think the reason people are complaining is because they could have pulled it off in a more effective way. Throwing 20 different characters at you in a seemingly random and over the top fashion isn't really an effective way to draw people in. Shows like Berserk and Gurren Lagann did it correctly, w...

I found this image a few years ago. From my understanding it was some concept designs for Wing that obviously never got animated. I have no idea what the text says though.
