Any chance you could post a translation of that, or one for the Javelin if it has one too? I'm interested in what they might say versus what bits and pieces I know about the two units... There's not much to translate there. It just says that the Prototype was made by "remaking" a Jamesgun...

Thanks for pointing out what the model numbers meant. I feel incredibly stupid now, because I've been a Gundam fan for a year now and never thought of it. Anyway, the Prototype Javelin's profile in the Climax UC manga suggests that the Jamesgun was already in use in UC123. It says the prototype Jave...

Jamesgun and Javelin

Is it stated anywhere exactly when the Jamesgun and Javelin began production? I was just reading the Climax UC manga and it features a Prototype Javelin operating around the same time the first half of F91 takes place in UC123. The Federation's mainstay suits seem to be G-Cannons and Heavyguns. Know...

I'll have scans up sometime next week. In the meantime, I'll just share more things I found interesting: 1) Prototype Guntanks. One of the stories in the manga deals with a frontline base that receives four "mobile suits" which are actually Guntanks with gun turrets instead of the hand can...

Uh, okay, I'll post scans as soon as I find a scanner I can use.

J-Lead

I bought it when I was in Japan on a study trip. I actually bought a whole bunch of rare Gundam manga which I plan to gradually scan and upload somewhere in the coming four months.

Vehicles in Operation Troy manga

I've noticed something interesting in the Operation: Troy manga. I've only read four chapters so far and from what I can tell they depict the early days of the One Year War, specifically, the winter of UC 0079. It seems that the Federation forces are using real-life airplanes and tanks - the first p...

almost 100% of assault ships Just a side thought, but do you guys think the Ball fits into this category? I can certainly see "almost 100%" of these suckers being destroyed. when Char led a group of them against the White Base When was that? I don't remember seeing it in the compilation m...

I feel too lazy to look it up right now, but didn't the EFSF lose around 50% of its forces when Gihren fired his superweapon?

If it were already called "Gundam", why say "Hey, it looks like those old Gundam units, let's nickname it Gundam"? It was in the scene when the crew finishes assembling the F91.

Well, that's the most obvious explanation, but why then was the F91 not officially codenamed "Gundam" like its predecessors? Now that I think of it, even the preceding F90 was officially named so.

Gundam "face" in UC

Okay, watching the F91 movie made me wonder - what is the idea behind the Gundam "face"? Why does it exist? I can see how the original RX-78 might have gotten it just as an aesthetic feature or to somehow mark it as a special unit (the GM's head design is closer to the Guncannon, than the ...

The Dynames variation is Dynames Torpedo, as seen in the second chapter of 00V. I really doubt they're going to give it special treatment and produce ANOTHER variation. At least not taht early.

MS-14* Gelgoog

Looking at lineart of the Gelgoog series MS, I noticed that all of them have some sort of tube or compartment on each forearm. My first assumption was that it was some kind of ranged weapon, similar to the grenade launchers on Z and ZZ Gundam machines, but the Gelgoog's profile lists no fixed ranged...

AMX-009 Dreissen weapons

The mahq entry on this MS lists its ranged armament as: "2 x 3-barrel beam cannon, power rated at 2.8 MW, mounted in forearms" Yet, I've noticed, that in episode 29 of Gundam ZZ the Dreissen platoon uses these hand-mounted cannons to raze buildings and at that time, they really don't look ...
