Re: Legend of the Galactic Heroes to get a new anime.

At this point, I'm less worried about the designs (I've accepted that they won't be better than the original ones, to say the least). What worries me is how exactly they're going to make this a different experience in practice (how much story will be covered, any changes to the narrative, etc).

Re: Ep. 189 - Oldest Ride, Longest Line

Wow, talk about a blast from the recent past. I mean that in a positive sense. Despite disagreeing with several of the complaints and also feeling frustrated by parts of this discussion, I still enjoyed listening to your opinions on Akito the Exiled. Whatever else happens in the future, the Gundamn!...

Re: ID-0

Well, the show just ended in Japan. It's still not up on Netflix though, but with some luck it'll be there soon. Overall, I think they did a good job with the story and a decent one with the characters. Nothing groundbreaking, but almost everything was properly resolved and I particularly enjoyed th...

Re: ID-0

ID-0 4 was really good. It's a classic scenario, but Amanza and ID-0 work well as rivals. Glad the focus is on that rather than on Rick's antics. Pretty nice trick with the billiard-style solution too. Protip: don't bully little mysterious little girls in space that are somehow connected to Shinto g...

Re: ID-0

Love the mecha designs, really like where they're going with it conceptually, but I don't like the protagonist at all, and that could sink it for me. I'll give it a few more episodes, but I'm not optimistic. Maya is arguably the point of view character and she'll get some nice development in due ti...

Re: ID-0

Yes, it's an interesting science fiction/mecha adventure series that more people should try to check out. I think it's definitely hinting towards a larger plot rather than truly episodic adventures, but each of the episodes have been enjoyable in their own right too. The cast is likable enough and I...

Re: New Code Geass sequel announced, recaps for 2017

After the absolute trainwreck that was the latter half of R2, I am extremely leery of more Geass, and I am especially annoyed that they are resurrecting Lelouch. Because honestly, IMO there were a lot of possible directions they could have taken with a Geass sequel that didn't involve pulling a Neo...

Re: Code Geass director has a new project: "Active Raid"

I've also been enjoying the show myself. Just not posting about it in recent weeks. I would say episode 6 has been the best one so far, in no small part due to its nostalgic treatement of giant robots. I am also rather happy with the new opening sequence, since the original version of the same seeme...

Re: Code Geass director has a new project: "Active Raid"

Personally speaking, I'd say episode 2 was a nice change over the first (which I already enjoyed) in a couple of ways. It's still as formulaic as you'd expect from the genre this show really belongs to, but I am having a good time watching the series so far. They kept the lighthearted atmosphere and...

Re: Code Geass director has a new project: "Active Raid"

Well, I thought the first episode was entertaining and the opposite of self-serious. Definitely not a show that has much of a pretension in terms of being philosophical nor intellectual, so don't expect to get any of that. It is basically the anime version of a Tokusatsu and/or Super Sentai show in ...
