Re: Gundam 40th Anniversary Special Movie

not everybody reads comics/manga like you probably do. MANY people who are anime fans have zero interest in manga/comics. and some people prefer their anime's (espcially gundam) dubbed in english and not subbed. in the context of gundam, i think the mangas and novels are all great source material f...

Re: What is the future of Gundam??

It would still be a blatant commercial so I don't know if you would consider it an improvement or not, but I remember that the older Plawres Sanshiro (yup, there's such show before Angelic Layer) add a serious twist with people start to realize the potential of such battle toys and villains want to...

Re: The Official Identify this Show Thread

Maybe Blue Gender (1999)? The art style in that one is somewhat less cartoony than the other examples.

Re: The Official Identify this Show Thread

Mecha suits on rollerblades brings to mind the following:
Votoms (1983)
Nadesico (1997)
Eureka 7 (2005)
Code Geas (2006)

But otherwise we'd need more details.

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE Thread Mk I

Just watched the first episode today and it's already off to a bad start by doubling down on the "VR MMO written by people who don't understand how MMOs work" problem that the first GBD had. Why does the main character have a framed photo of what is basically an in-game screenshot? How does Kazami g...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Odd. Where'd this misinformation about Gamlin's species come from? It's been on that wiki page since the first revision in 2013 and NOBODY ever challenged the claim? Nothing in M7 ever remotely implied that Gamlin was Zentradi in any way, especially since Macross in the 90's had already settled on Z...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

I always got the impression that the people involved in making Macross 30 like Isamu ALOT. For some reason in Macross 30 Isamu gets a YF-29 as part of the plot and can switch to it from his YF-19 if you choose him as a wingman, but Ozama doesn't get that option with his YF-29 (before NG+ at least) d...

Re: The Official Identify this Show Thread

I'm drawing a blank on UniverseGangster's but the "hair clip to tell the girl apart from the boy twin" sounds exactly like Linebarrels though the twins don't have white hair.

Based on the description it sounds like Orguss 02. Also please keep in mind there's a dedicated thread for these kinds of requests.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

This is a really sweeping generalization and I don't know why you're posting it in a thread where the majority of complaints about the show had nothing to do with it breaking a power fantasy. Also, the idea that Tekkedan is more of a power fantasy than the Operation Meteor boys or Celestial Being on...

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

In an ideal world, every Gundam era would have its own self contained Vs. game and Musou spin-off. But when only CE was big enough to muster its own Vs. games and G-Reco and IBO don't even have standalone games of any kind (I think? Do they even have a mobile game?), it just doesn't make sense for N...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Yeah it's kinda sad that the show ended up being so underwhelming that people weren't even angry enough to complain about it.

What does everyone think of the claim that the general beats of Delta's plot mirror that of Macross 30's a little too much?

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Let me be clear, I don't think Walkure itself is a problem. I think that the time they spent on them could have been spent on more IMPORTANT things in the story (like actually resolving the conflict). Additionally, besides Freyja, Hayate, Mirage (and that is being generous), Messar and Mikomu, what...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Delta put the focus far too much on the singers in an attempt to develop all of them. Regardless of if you think they succeeded or failed at developing all the members of Walkure I still have to go through the last six episodes, but I can already say I don't think this point is true. The members of...

There's a very high probability that all Brave shows will finally be available in English within a few months, however discussing the details of this is against forum rules.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Those last two deals are the same ones from last December minus the Banshee Norn for the first one I believe.

Also if you guys are still doing the Full Boost sessions, where do you schedule things? The Gundamn page hasn't updated since last June.

Re: Queries On Super Robot Wars

MNeidengard's SRW plot summaries are generally meant to be read either alongside playing the game or after when you have an overall understanding of the setting. They're not line by line transcripts or have detailed descriptions of on screen events unfortunately. The author made it clear that he tra...

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

So there's a massive PSN sale on Full Boost right now where you can get the game digitally plus all the DLC for around 9500¥. Normally all the DLC by itself costs 15K¥. In light of what was revealed about Force and the lack of any news about Maxi Boost getting a PS3 port, is now a good time to nab F...

Re: It's Gundam Wing's 20th anniversary

I also remember hearing back in the day that when the show aired in Arabic countries, Relena's skirts were digitally lengthened to her ankles. Never saw any proof. I didn't catch that particular detail, but there's some merit to it because I did catch a scene where women wearing bare shoulder dress...
