Re: The Official Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island Anime Thread Mk I

Also despite that Doan Origin manga named after him.... doesn't have too much to do with him...

Some of the story is before he got to the island... the rest being about his former squadmates...

Re: Who Cloned Char in Gundam Unicorn

It only took Gundam Narrative to even explain the actual Origin of Full Frontal, the Unicorn novel actually stated that in the story, the anime did not.

Re: Making sense of the Jegan's evolution

Type D is a minor update of the original Jegan.

Most things are either developed from the original Jegan and the Type D. Jegan's multi-role design allows are various upgrades/variations. It really does have quite a number of them.

Re: Destiny & Legend's performance

Its just the way it was used in the anime and the flawed writing. The concept is perfectly fine as it is a multi-role unit. Thank god the Master grade of the Destiny had a revised and much better design. So much so that many video games use the MG version design of the Destiny over the anime version.

Patlabor had it too with the multi-legged military labors.

Dominion Tank Police had a spider-tank too but that is a similar thing to Ghost in the Shell given its a Masamune Shiro work too.

Re: 86 Anime.

2nd season is currently airing with 2 episodes out.

The opening for the 2nd season is quite better than the one from season 1.

Although I'm curious in anyone's thoughts on season 2 so far.

Re: Tactical Surface Fighter

There is a wiki for Muvluv you can google and see the development history of the TSF. They were based on a humanoid worker NCAF-X1 unit that was made for lunar operation (Briefly seen in Total Eclipse). But then the BETA attacked. The F-4 was the 1st TSF and heavily armored. TSFs are pretty much a a...

Re: Destiny & Legend's performance

Destiny is a all rounder unit and the most balanced out of the 4. Strong in both melee and range combat, but its speed and maneuverability is one of the best features too. Problem is, the writing of the show just dumbs down both Destiny and Legend performance. The actual specs on both units are pret...

Re: Medieval Knight Mecha?

Yeah fantasy mecha for the most part never really took off in Japan. Escaflowne was more popular outside of Japan too. Speaking of Sunrise, there was another fantasy mecha show from the mid 90s, Lord of Lord Ryu Knight, all fantasy based with SD'ish looking designs. Not only a TV series, but 2 diffe...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

By that logic, it would seem weird in Macross 30 that NUNS special forces unit Havamal did not use the VF-24, instead using the YF-29B... Although ironically enough there is no info about that YF-29B either like the actual VF-24. But there is a actual VF-24 right? Its likely a production version of ...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Got it, thanks for the info about the VF-171 being a 4/4.5 unit.

Got a question about it... the VF-171 in Delta, are they the EX ones from Frontier? I don't think they are but they have the same color scheme as the EX ones.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

All of these units are 5th generation models, all based on the VF-24. Outside of the VF-24, no other NUNs unit can even touch these high spec models. VF-171 is 3.5 gen unit IIRC.

Nemo itself is actually part of the GM family. In some reference books in the past decade, it is officially part of the GM family legacy, especially heavily being based on the GM II.

Re: Rick Dias and Nemo

Also the Nemo being a better and closer machine to the GM II as well as being a more general machine compared to the heavier Rick Dias. General MS performance compared with cheaper costs is the main reason why the Nemo continued long after the Rick Dias was gone. The Nemo had quite a production run,...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

He was already a old man in Macross 7, around 50 years old.

In the Macross universe, humans learned over-tech thanks to Zentradi integration, which also means humans live longer too.
