Re: Gelgoog Successors?

0083 seemed to fit just fine. The Gelgoog Marine just stands out for easily being the worst Gelgoog production model. It was likely just cheap to make and maintain compared to other Gelgoog models.

Re: Gelgoog Successors?

Its hilarious that almost all of these Post OYW Gelgoogs are still slower than then Jaeger, but then again, Jaeger is faster than just about every MS outside of the GP01 FB until F90 era, lol.

Re: Gelgoog Successors?

Dijeh also seems heavily inspired by the Gelgoog in terms of visual, especially its beam naginata. Bawoo is not really anything like the Gelgoog, its pretty much Zeon's version of the Zeta with core block system. Overall, its the Galbady B. Even though it has Federation tech, its still mostly a Zeon...

Re: Gundam foils and the drive to heroism

There is that too. But Haman was also having all those weird delusions and distracted by Judau too. Its likely the change in some of the writing compared to Zeta, but Haman lost a lot of her bite in ZZ compared to Zeta.

Re: Gundam foils and the drive to heroism

Haman's leadership in question is one of the reasons that lead to Glemy's uprising. If she was more effective there wouldn't have been such a big nasty infighting going on, especially with such a very large amount of forces that sided with Glemy. Its one thing if Glemy had a small faction of soldier...

Re: Gundam foils and the drive to heroism

Yeah but the Neo Zeon troops were stopping the AEUG/Karaba from evacuating the civilians. Its one thing for Federation not doing anything to help, but its a different thing when Neo Zeon is stopping people from escaping a Colony drop.

Re: Gundam foils and the drive to heroism

She also killed a lot of civilians by dropping a Colony on Dublin and didn't allow people to evacuate either, so that's a pretty moot point with Haman Karn. Shoot, I think Scirrico is a more decent person than Haman Karn in some ways. She has way more emotional baggage than him. And she was not that...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

I dunno, a lot of the Kio arc was a painful recycle of MSG, from the 3 triple desert battle to the knock-off Jaburo battle that even included a time bomb. Salam-Euba arc was also quite moronic in that there was no good reason why the 2 sides were even fighting each other especially with crappy weapo...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

There is nothing indicating that Age forced the marketing of product to Build Fighters. Once again, that concept already existed with plamoshiro manga and Gunpla Builder which was in production and came out around the time Age was airing. Gunpla Builders was likely already green-lit in production an...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

People obviously don't pay any attention to what the franchise actually is then. For one thing, it was already a existing concept albeit a obscure manga, but it also came about YEARS earlier with GUNPLA BUILDERS which most people enjoyed overall. Plus, its a SPIN-OFF series, no different from how SD...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

I don't know about Build Divers. It was not really well liked at all and it was painfully dull and mediocre. And it makes sense given it has some of the same main writers as AGE. Build Fighters success has nothing to do with Age's failure since they have very little in common outside of being Gundam...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

So much so being just games that the games completely spoiled the anime ending before it actually aired. Not that it really mattered much given how problematic the plot became at that point. Memory of Eden was pretty much a lower budget compilation for one last hurrah to market out the last big effo...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Yeah I also found it interesting at the high firepower the Macross II Valkyries had.

Metal Siren especially, it had quite some firepower, and a specialized Battroid form with the Gundroid mode. Also interesting that it had a lightning powered spear too.

Re: RB79 Ball Variants and Successors

Not really that effective... they are considered metal coffins for a good reason. The only thing Balls can do remotely effectively is fighting in numbers at range bombardment or as limited support bombardment from a distance, which isn't that great cause its sensor range isn't that much better than ...

Re: GM Sniper Custom Family Tree

In real life, the GM Sniper Custom came out as it was one of the earliest MSV units. However, due to retcons and updates, the Ground GM is one of the earliest GM models when 8th MS team came out. As for the GM Sniper II, it was a more general purpose machine with much higher specs compared to the ol...

Re: Gelgoog development acceleration?

Yeah, it was infighting, not just on the political side but also on the corporate side that screwed over a LOT of things for Zeon. Getting a intact Guncannon with beam rifle would not have made any difference. Lack of proper planning was a issue too, look at MS IGLOO alone and see the various proble...

Re: How many more 'new' U.C. stories can be told in anime form?

I just think of it as a spin off manga with no real relations to other universes stores, like Gundam EXA. I haven't read it myself but I don't treat it any different than a SD Gundam story. Sometimes they can be interesting or just fun to read.

Re: How many more 'new' U.C. stories can be told in anime form?

Crossbone Steel 7 was a alright story, but Ghost and Dust plot is pretty convoluted and bad like latter Astray stories, the more it goes on the worse it gets. It seemed for a long time that Hasegawa was the only one doing late UC manga, thankfully there is a ongoing new F90 manga called Fastest Form...

Re: How many more 'new' U.C. stories can be told in anime form?

I think there should be an interquel between F91 and Crossbone to explain some things, not to mention tie up a couple loose ends from the F91 side, not to mention a F91 show to gain the full story instead of that compressed film. Say yazi88, what makes Crossbone "very overrated and hyped to death" ...
