Re: The Official Gundam Hathaway Anime Thread Mk I

well. lets pray they didn't go cheap. the thing is, perhaps they did all the dubbing on the down-low with NYAV post for hathaway? we will find out in a few days regarding the MSG Trilogy. my concern is the trilogy is already VERY old and hard to look at. airing it SUBBED will limit who looks at it ...

Re: Amuro and the Zeta Series

Ah, that makes sense then. Weapons wise it does like a better unit with the beam launcher, beam shield beam cannon, and the beam rifle bayonet. Although the Re-Gz did have strong beam weapons but only on the BWS system.

Re: Amuro and the Zeta Series

Since we are on the subject... is the ReZEL from Unicorn considered a better unit than the Re-GZ? Given that it is a combination of the Jegan, Re-GZ and Methus It seems to have better weapons and cost effective too. I think it performs better in every way than the units it is based on.

Its a limited production spin-off of the Jegan, but nothing model number wise is close to it.

We also see Chad's Landman Rodi get hit by the Hashmal's beam straight on, but come off just fine despite Chad complaining it was really hot.

Re: Practicality of Physical Melee Weapons in Gundam

I don't know if it there is much of a comparison between the IBO Gundam frames and UC's movable frame. They were very different systems especially with how the 2 reactors for the Gundam frames is a big aspect of it too including the outer armor.

These kind of discussions go in anime and manga section, not general discussion.

But the show you are thinking about is Steel Jeeg.

Re: Practicality of Physical Melee Weapons in Gundam

The rare metal is also used for certain weapons such as Barbatos Lupus Rex's Nails, Toe Nails and its Tail Blade taken and modified from the Hashmal. I believe the Grimgarde also used the same material for its blades, but I don't think they were as strong as the Bael's swords. Funny enough, the Hash...

Re: Strongest Mass Produced MS?

Yep, that sounds about right. Thank you. I think the Vaklyria Frames had a lot more common with each other. We've seen 3 so far, although the heavy one is a modified version of the 1st one, so only 2 really. But 2 of them (Grimgarde and Oltlinde) share very common parts with each other although they...

Re: Strongest Mass Produced MS?

Although for IBO Gundams... while the frame themselves were mass produced... pretty much all the Gundams so far were all unique in the way they were used/customized and don't seem to have any exact same specs between them compared between frames. But I guess its the frames themselves that count for ...

Re: Strongest Mass Produced MS?

48-50 is a pretty good number although not a very high mass production rate compared to the standard grunt, but much higher than the usual limited production model which is usually less than 20. Plus according to 00V more GN-XIVs were made after the ELS war and added the core fighter aspect which is...

Re: Strongest Mass Produced MS?

GN X IVs were quite strong too. Especially having different equipment and being able to go Trans AM. There were quite a number of them too so it had a good production run despite a lot of GN XIIIs not being converted to them in time.

Re: Practicality of Physical Melee Weapons in Gundam

IBO is much more consistent about that than UC Gundam was with its Minovsky particles.

So far the 1st cour will end with the ending of volume 1. Yes they will get better units later. Look forward to it.

Re: Dragonar & Dragoon

You are thinking of https://www.mahq.net/mecha/dragonar/dragonar/xc-00.htm which was used early on.

The one from my post from earlier is https://www.mahq.net/mecha/dragonar/dragonar/xc-3.htm which looks mostly similar but is a different unit, likely a upgraded version.

Re: Dragonar & Dragoon

I've seen Dragonar a number of times, but when was the https://www.mahq.net/mecha/dragonar/dragonar/xc-3.htm ever used?

I don't even remember seeing this in the show, especially after Dragonar 1 and 2 were upgraded to their custom versions...

IIRC that was from a fan design contest and it was the winner so it was animated into the show. Nothing else special about it.

Re: 86 Anime.

Its been some time since the thread was updated. Anyone watching this show? The production values are great. Although its definitely slower than I expected as this whole 1st cour will be based on volume 1 alone. But its following the novel quite well. The combat scenes are awesome especially seeing ...
