Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Episode #11 has Okiura Hiroyuki's first television credit in ten years . That's a surprise. Looks like The Witch From Mercury is demanding 13,000 in-between drawings from a Chinese animation company for an upcoming episode. Jesus Christ, this series is being made at the last second. Granted, that so...

Expect the series to crumble even more soon because these dumb fuckers running the production committee won'...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Not sure there's anything really "sapphic" there either... esp. since the OP is explicitly sung from the perspective of the Gundam Aerial's AI, not Miorine or Suletta The Opening and Ending animation are both filled with Sapphic imagery of Suletta and Miorine. The visual language of both ...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Not gonna judge, not gonna kink-shame, just gonna say I am hardcore not seeing it in this series... all I see WRT their relationship is the toxic and abusive relationship previously described The Sapphic nature of the Opening, Ending and the dialogue within the episodes point to them being in love....

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

... yeah, I am NOT seeing it. Maybe if Suletta were really, creepily, I'm-calling-the-cops-this-woman's-clearly-a-sex-offender level masochistically subby like Darkness from KonoSuba or something... but there's been no sign of that, thank goodness. Their relationship, such as it is, is founded excl...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Eh... I kind of doubt that's what the show's creators are shooting for. If they are, they're botching that as badly as they are everything else because HOLY SHIT is Miorine and Suletta's "relationship" toxic. I mean, the romantic tension is there whether it's ever going to be openly acted...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Episode #9: The great thing about this series is just how bisexual it is, although it's super dissappointing to see it so afraid to just say the 'B-word'. Suletta and Miorine are obviously the main couple but the dynamics those two have with the male characters are so obvious. I absolutely loved the...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

I feel like a war is inevitable if the personalities of the capitalists clash enough, which we can see them doing already in just the first few episodes.

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Suletta is so relatable. Sometimes it's just HARD to get through a conversation in a new place with new people. I like how she seems keen on being a duo with Mio-Mio, too.

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

It's so nice having a Sapphic couple as the main focus of a Gundam series. I really liked how #2 saw Miorine as the POV character in contrast to how Suletta was the POV character of the first episode. I wonder if there will be alternating POVs between the episodes? If we're coming up on another batt...

Re: New Code Geass sequel announced, recaps for 2017

"Lelouch of the Resurrection"? Does that mean he's going to come back wearing a golden Zero costume and have a well-animated but unsatisfying fight with a blue-haired Suzaku? :P I'm wary of this idea at the moment, but part of me is glad to see all the idiots who whined about how "pr...

Re: Naruto is being aimed for

Begrudging episodes from a half dozen years ago is a bit much, don't you think? You don't have to watch them if you don't like and Shippuuden has done a great job of adapting more then one chapter an episode to create compact storytelling for the episodes that do adapt the comic chapters. The cartoo...

Re: Dragon Ball (And Shonen in general)

I've never been a big fan of the driving episode, episode #125. Other then Hisada Kazuya's cool key animation for the cuts of Vegeta training there's not much to the episode. Dragon Ball has done much better humor without ever relying much on self-parody. The gags in the Garlic Junior arc are much f...

Re: Dragon Ball (And Shonen in general)

So no replies on my points for comparing Z to Kai in terms of the dub at least Jacob? I know at least I'm not alone in my opinion. Sorry, I don't really see the point. The dubs have nothing to do with those shows so I don't see the point in having an opinion on them. I'm not going to watch them, I ...

Re: Dragon Ball (And Shonen in general)

Well, since it's on the brain now I guess I'll add... Artificial Human No. 18 is voiced by Itou Miki, who also played Mineva Lao Zabi in Zeta Gundam and Gundam ZZ . Miki's performance as No. 18 is one of my favorites among the Artificial Humans, although they're all great. She is wonderful in playin...

Oh no, moe Mazinger Z Opening!

I've seen the previews. I love Honda's performance. It looks like Tomita Yoshikazu was a key animator on the first episode, too. Damn, it's not too long before we see Shida Naotoshi on this series too, I bet.

Re: Dragon Ball (And Shonen in general)

I see. I suppose I may try this sometime. Sad as it is I don't have time. Thanks for the info anyway. It is nice to know that there is quality. I do recall enjoying Dragonball's earlier stuff prior to the Cell arc. It just felt like mindless repetition after Freeza. I would say the series is strong...

Re: Dragon Ball (And Shonen in general)

I really wish I could enjoy reading Dragonball, but for some reason I couldn't make myself, too many good memories with the anime adaption I guess. Speaking of, how true to it is the anime Dragonball? I know Z was filled up like crazy, but what about the earlier years? The 1986 TV series adapts com...

Apparently so. I was unaware that this man was a character from the light novels.
