Re: Gundam video question?

What intrigues me is the end... we get this big impressive montage of main characters and MS from the One Year War and Operation Stardust, then it ends with the Zeta -era Gundam Mk.II facing off against what appears to be some kind of Gelgoog or perhaps Galbaldy? Looks like a Gelgoog Marine, based ...

Currently, I think Ecole is on hiatus since Mikimoto's had a lot on his slate recently. After all, he's recently started the Macross the First manga for the new Macross Ace mag, so he may be focusing on that for a while until he can find a balance.

As for Jack Bayard, yes, he does join the AEUG during the Gryps War. I know he crops up in Ecole du Ciel piloting a Gundam Mk II for Anaheim on the moon. I've seen some sources say that he eventually makes the move over to a GM II once the Mk II is broken down. I know he's using a GM II in his Gree...

The Unicorn website doesn't mention it, but the feature on the Stark Jegan in the March issue of Gundam Ace indicates that the base model Jegan the Stark parts are bolted on to is the "D Type." I suspect that's primarily to differentiate Katoki's design from the original, but it does have ...

As such, even the base-model Jegan seen in UC 0093 should be more than capable of fighting in simulated gravity within a colony with no problems. Indeed, we see the Jegan operating in simulated gravity within a colony during F91. Not to any great effect, but that's largely due to the model, even wi...

I should have known though, it WAS a fan drawing, I believe. Nope, not a fan drawing. It's done by Hiroyuki Kitazume who was, at the time of the illustration, character designer for CCA and had recently completed a stint as same on Gundam ZZ. It doesn't say what the picture was used for, but it's &...

2-turret Musais are called sigfields, they are specialized for long-distance flying and MS carrying, they must have catapults. There are actually two types of two-turret Musais . The Siegfried -type, which to my knowledge has never been seen anywhere but 0080 and a couple of games, is a completely se...

In all likelihood, it never will end up at any physical retail chain. BVUSA's distribution was done through Geneon USA and when Geneon went under, well... There's a writeup on this at ANN. BVUSA's dot-Anime site seems to be the primary retailer though others have put Igloo up for order (I ordered mi...

From the looks of things, they're going to be two discs with three episodes each (split up into the Hidden One Year War and Apocalypse 0079 sections) at fifty bucks a pop. They're going to be subbed only.

There are illustrations in the novel, in addition to the mobile suit data that's appearing in Gundam Ace. They're being done by original Gundam character designer and scribe of The Origin, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. Some of them can be seen on the Unicorn official site in the story section.

Nice to see Fukui's managed to salvage a few of the plot points and loose ends from ZZ. I'd initially suspected that Audrey was Mineva but I have to admit, I was almost ready to give up on the idea. Now I really wish my usual source for G. Ace hadn't dried up last year... Tomino is probably packing ...

Shin Matsunaga is it official he had a Gelgoog Jager by the end of the OYW or Did he fight ABQ in his High mobility Zaku. I thought about a potential downgrade, but I didn't see any hint about it. And the "official" reason (low defense) strikes me as somewhat odd, because while the Hizack does indeed have heavier armor, it doesn't have much else if anything else over the Galbaldy. I think a likelier reason i...

On another note: I've been following Ecole du Ciel as it's released here by Tokyopop, and from a mecha standpoint, I haven't seen anything that could really conflict with Zeta continuity. There was one thing that I couldn't figure out. Asuna gets a Gundam Mk. II in Vol. 6. Where in the world did th...

I'm just psyched the Pittsburg is 4-1. Just to note, that's "Pittsburgh" with an "h" on the end. We natives get a might bit picky about that spelling ^_^ As for them 'ol Stillers' prospects this year, I'm not going to look too far ahead. I may be a Steelers fan born and bred but...

Heh. That was one of the main sources of fuel behind the old "Priss is a Boomer" theory that used to make the rounds back in the early days.

You're basically building not just a single MS, but an MS (That has to be designed to seperate/reform in battle) and a fighter (Which also has to transform properly to fit in the MS), as well as spare parts for both, and the doubtlessly increased cost and time it would take to train pilots and mech...

You've pretty much summed up my own thoughts on BGC 2040. While not the original, it manages to stand on a lot of its own merits. There are elements to it that I do like over the original OAVs, particularly Linna. Even with the few spotlight elements she gets (Born to Kill, Double Vision) she doesn'...

The original BGC is one of the first anime series I ever really got into--to the point where my friends and I used to have an annual "BGC Day." For some reason the combination of story, characters, music, and rocking Artmic mecha designs just fired on all cylinders for me. Still one of my ...
