Re: The Official Kamen Rider Thread

Mostly finished with marathoning Gaim and I can't say I liked it very much. Sparing the details because I don't want to come off as nitpicky, my problems with it basically boils down to how much I hated most of the main cast and didn't care for the attempt to rehash Ryuki's basic premise. The latter...

Show

Haha. I guess we know what to expect then for Psycho-Pass 2..

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

Wow. Anyway the rest of the post is just my blind speculation mixed in with a couple of spoilers, so disclaimer issued. Welp. Didn't expect that to happen to Inaho. Kinda disappointed that they pulled that stunt (probably just for shock value, really), but at least he went out like a badass by takin...

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

The end to episode 9 made me laugh. Stranded on ice because you (seemingly) offed the source powering your flying ship. That's a serious case of Darwin-ing yourself there.

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

As far as I'm concerned, I still find it entertaining even with its obvious flaws. For something I stumbled upon while browsing on Hulu, it's done a decent enough job if I'm still tuning in at this point.

Those expecting a masterpiece were bound to be disappointed.

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

Seems like Inaho's shaping up to be the resourceful, observant-type protagonist who doesn't emote very well. Which is fine I guess, but historically those types rarely develop much over the course of the show. Almost seems like the writers spent too much time working on making Slaine's story interes...

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

Nothing like a good bit of ground-pounding, city wrecking mecha action to get me back into watching anime. The plot doesn't blow me away, but I'll keep at it if only for the action scenes.

Re: Muv Luv anime

In the US, we call this "poor character execution." In Nippon, we call this "tsundere." :P <snip> Meh. There's a big difference between simply being a tsundere and "you just blatantly ignored my orders oh well herp-derp I'll just roll with it." For a character who initially came off as completely "...

Re: Muv Luv anime

Man, Yuuya taking on a horde of BETA with a half-functioning, heavily-damaged TSF armed with only a dinky combat knife was just straight up badass. Not to mention that he technically still has next to zero live combat experience and still managed to survive up to that point. Sure, protagonist plot a...

Re: The Official Kamen Rider Thread

Kuuga and Blade bored me with their first eps, so I stopped watching them. I haven't finished Kuuga so I can't say much about it, but you're seriously missing out by skipping Blade. It definitely starts off a little slow, but eventually it turns into arguably the most well-written Kamen Rider of th...

Re: NEW RPG THREAD DISCUSSION

Even though I could still run that VOTOMS game, I was just curious as to what people were thinking of an RPG where everyone was a ship captain instead of a pilot? It wouldn't be in Gundam, obviously, but if we found a good universe it could be a nice change of pace. It's a little different from wha...

Re: TftF Discussion Thread #4

I've been swamped with school stuff and life for the last few weeks. Dunno when the next time I'll be able to post, but I'll do so as soon as possible. For now just assume Wes launched and is participating in battle...

Re: NEW RPG THREAD DISCUSSION

How about a Macross Zero inspired RPG? UN Spacy versus the Anti-United Nations. VF-0's versus SV-51's. Hell, we could even have some non-Overtech action during the initial stages, considering the Tomcat and Fulcrum were featured in the films.

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

--Hallway-- Wes spent most of his downtime before the battle at the observation room simply staring out the window. There was little he could do aside from that after all, and it was a hell of a lot better than pacing about his room. Though, either way he was alone, just the way he preferred it. It ...

Re: TftF Discussion Thread #4

Summer session schedule is driving me nuts. I have had a midterm or a final every other week over the last month and a half, but since some of my classes have ended/are ending, I'm hoping my schedule clears up enough to read up and make a post soon.

I hate prereq's and upper div's...

Re: Episode 27 - Transition [4th]

--Hallway-- A breath of fresh air. Or at least as fresh as recycled air can get. Curren couldn't help but feel a little liberated from his room after his migrane had subsided a bit. There was still a mild ache of course, though not as head splitting as earlier. At the very least, he can now feel tha...

Finals this week. Then I have to deal with moving into my new apartment, followed by the start of summer school. Needless to say, I'll be very busy for the next couple of weeks. I'll post up something as soon as I find the free time and the motivation.

Re: What's Your Current Anime? Mk III

I'm still going to give 2nd Raid a shot some time down the road, as I've read it's a stark contrast from the first series, with even better production values. Coming from a fan of the show, I'd suggest that you don't bother watching The Second Raid. TSR is basically more of the same, with less fill...
