Re: Digimon?
Huh, hadn't thought about Digimon in a long time. It was my first real break-in into anime, and even now I'm not ashamed to have enjoyed it. While I certainly don't enjoy the style now, especially the good-old 'shout your attacks', Digimon had some surprisingly good character development. I always f...

Re: Gundam Characters You wish that Survived>
I'll throw my hat in the ring for a few unconventional picks. In Zeta Gundam, I think if Jerid had not died it would have added some delicious pathos to him, especially if he were crippled rather than Kamille's senile. Besides the parallels between him and Kamille that held for much of the story, I ...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk III
Very good 'first' episode, and I definitely think I'll like this section even more. The animation change gives me relief. Besides the curiosity towards Asem's want-to-please-daddy issues, novel given that Flit's not a bad father, I also am looking forwards to the best character of the show, Wolf and...

Re: Rinne no Lagrange Discussion Thread
I saw the first episode: was intrigued, but not converted. Good humor bits, but I'll be waiting to see how this develops in the future. I'll give it another episode or three before catching up.
It looks pretty, for sure. And it has giant robots. I just don't know if I'll care for the character plots.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk III
That was... a darn good death sequence, really. I teared up, and I didn't even like Yurin that much. It probably helps that she wasn't insane or crazy, but that will definitely be one of the 'better' love-interest-dies-for-tragedy moments. Interestingly enough, I wonder how much Flit's post-Yurin at...

Re: Fate/Zero
Newest episode out. Not that much to say.
Rider's noble phantasm is awesome and all... but what was the point of Assassin in the first place?
As it was, just as a target.

Re: Fate/Zero
It's kind of hard to think of heroic assassins, really. Most legends don't go around them. I got to say, though. I'd think Hector of Troy would make an awesome, yet sane and sympathetic, servant. Guy has 'guardian' all around him: defends his city for years of constant warfare, stands by his family ...

Re: Fate/Zero
Jesus as a Caster? It would probably work. Type-Moon had Shakespear as a Caster, IIRC. But then, Jesus killing people? I could see him as a non-lethal Heroic Spirit, much to his Summoner's annoyance. His Noble Phantasm would probably involve being willing to shoulder the burden of a Command Seal, ra...

Re: Fate/Zero
Decided to get it over with and read the summaries of the other routes for... whatever the next Grail War is referred to as. So yeah, I get why he's a bastard... though it really hasn't shown yet here, and I hope that Kirei is at least a good bastard. Looking forward to seeing how Fate/Zero plays ou...

Re: Zelda Skyward Sword
I've found myself enjoying it. After growing to more survivor-ish RPGs like Fallout, where limited item inventory causes you to balance things, I found myself enjoying the item system a lot more. Core items give you a small number of ammo, but carrying more of what is the balance question. Crafting ...

Re: Fate/Zero
I never got into Fate/Night despite multiple attempts (the palm-worthy heroism harem-building annoyed me), but after a lot of reluctance and good words, I gave Fate/Zero a try. duh duh duh da duhhhh, I'm lovin it. This is what I was expecting/hoping when I heard the premise of the Holy Grail War of ...

Re: Legends and Lies: The Plot Twist Rumors Topic (SPOILERS)
I thought Gundam X was 'The One Week War That Wasn't?'
Really interesting seeing all these debunked theories. I find myself curious how many plot twist rumors actually came true.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk II
Hell, I'm loving that those holes are for beam-sabers. Rather than attaching a dozen blades like the Justice, just put a few holes for beam sabers to come out of. Then the armor pads make sense. Gundam Titus just went from 'lame' to 'kinda cool' in my book. Now I just wonder how it fights at range. ...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk II
The episode suffered from some choreography problems in terms of pacing. Things happened too rapidly without enough justification. (The Gundam delivery, tracking the daughter, etc.) Even so, this was a pretty background-heavy episode which certainly expanded the concept of the universe, even as it e...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk II
So far, the only moment in the show I haven't really cared for was when Flit flew in front of the Zedas and held the Gundam AGE's arms open spread-eagle so as to block the Zedas' path. Lolwut? Dude, you're in SPACE, that isn't going to do ANYTHING to stop him. But then it does. Oh, wow. to b...

Re: Zeta Gundam: Why is it so great?
I liked how he got taken under Master Asia's wing in Dynasty Warriors Gundam :D But of course. Everyone comes off better after training under Master Asia. :D Heh, true, but I meant more how he actually bowed his head and asked for help. That was another great thing about Jerid, often ignored: Jerid...

Re: Zeta Gundam: Why is it so great?
Jerid was one of the more interesting Titans characters IMO because as much of a jerkoff as he is, he's not a complete monster like Bask or Jamitov. Even more interestingly, while a lot of the time he's such a total jerkoff he's almost unbearable, there were IIRC a few episodes where he was a lot l...
