Re: End of the line for Bandai Entertainment

I own it on DVD, and did enjoy the film.
However, I do not know if I would spend $29 for the Blu Ray edition.

If you have any gift cards left over from the holidays though, go for it.

Re: End of the line for Bandai Entertainment

This sucks. :( I was truly looking forward to owning Turn-A Gundam with an official sub. If they haven't finished the sub work yet, there's pretty much no chance it'll ever get done. I guess I will window up doing what I'd planned to do before they announced they were releasing it and importing it t...

Re: The Official Identify this Show Thread

Heh. I've been thinking about posting a "what's this anime" thread for a while now. Here's what I remember about it: It's a movie from the 1990's about about an old man being cared for by a young nurse and is in this computerized bed that was just supposed to handed all his physical needs,...

Re: Turn A Gundam: Coming soon

No dub, eh? That's fine with me, although I still would volunteer to do Corin's voice for free. I'll still buy it once it comes out, and will continue trying to introduce people to it. Anyone avoiding it because there's no dub is simply missing out, and I feel a small amount of pity for them, honest...

Re: Turn A Gundam: Coming soon

Considering the prior, (and honestly subsequent), representations of black characters in Gundam or any anime for that matter, Loran's character was pretty groundbreaking, and refreshing in many ways. He fit none of the lousy stereotypes you tend to see in anime, and best of all, it didn't matter if ...

Re: Turn A Gundam: Coming soon

So. Very. Happy. :D Turn-A is my favorite Gundam series. I try to watch the whole thing once a year in some form. I'm actually on the last two episodes on my Blackberry right now. Honestly I don't care if it's sub only or sub/dub, but if it does get dubbed, I'd love to do Corin Nander's part. Heck,...

Re: What's Your Current Anime? Mk II

Watching Turn A Gundam again, this time on my Blackberry during lunch. Never really get tired of that show. Not sure if I want to re-watch Zeta afterward, or just wait until I get the ANT movies and compare. Waiting on the DVD issues to get sorted before I pick up G00 S2 Vol2. In the interim, I deci...

Re: So i just finished 0079

Yes, Bright wasn't really gifted with any precognitive newtype abilities, but he did have an innate ability to detect them. Over the course of the series, and in later ones, he seems to recognize this and eventually learns to trust what he likely thinks of as nothing more than a gut feeling, and man...

If you look closely, he was just pulling out a oshuriken that was stuck in his arm, not using it.

Re: Moonlight Butterfly [Spoiler]

Actually Zechs would likely have despised it since it's so mechanical and antiseptic in nature.

And it's more along the lines of something Hap Arnold would have come up with.

Re: Marvel Comics outsources for anime series

Well, it makes sense if this is true: "Marvel had previously revealed that Madhouse is animating the Iron Man and Wolverine characters in Japan for Japanese audiences." The lead character is never, ever a short brawny guy in anime. Ever. One of his close friends might be, but never the lea...

Re: Moonlight Butterfly [Spoiler]

Well, I don't think there's anything that describes exactly how the nanomachines do their thing, but from what is seen in the Anime, it seems that they may not actually destroy things, but rather neutralize them by encasing them in a cocoon with what appears to be a high concentration of silica (giv...

That's probably what that array of thrusters on it's back is there to prevent.

I bet there's a big sticker in the cockpit that says "SPACE USE ONLY!!"

Well, this ep was reasonably intense. For a 'combat type', Tieria sure has lousy reflxes. He had Ribbons dead to rights yet Ribbons was able to get his hand to his gun fast enough to shoot him. Still, maybe he's not stuck in Veda, and neither is Anew. Given Ribbons apparent obsession with redundancy...

Well, Team Patrick's dead. He protected his woman, but got taken down by Ribbon's Zerg rush, though he seems to have taken 3 down at once with him. If he's not dead, he's pretty mangled at this point. I do wish Regene had at least made it interesting before Ali put one through his heart. Didn't even...

The Gundams were always connected to Veda no matter where they were. There could be relay stations or something too. So I definitely don't think Ribbons has to worry about people's locations. The Gundams were, yes, but they have GN drives and thus enough particles to more easily facilitate Veda's m...

Ribbons uses Veda to link with others and control them. Tieria and the Ptolemy's stock of Haros have been cut off from Veda. Yes, I'm aware that it's Veda that gives Ribbons the ability, but I don't think it's range is infinite, at least not in a way that would allow Ribbons to fully control someon...

I think Ribbons actually needs another Innovator (or modified human like Louise) nearby in order to remotely control someone from a distance, acting as a relay of sorts. In the instances he's done it, another Innovator was always nearby. With Anew, Hilling and Revive are nearby, as is Louise. With E...

I think Setsuna knew the Ahead Custom with the Swords and the Masurao pilot were the same guy, seeing as both fought in the same style and were the only sword wielding units he's faced, but yeah, I think this past episode was the first time he put the whole puzzle together about him also being the g...

Come to think of it, there's only one death in all of Gundam I really raged over (and still do). And that was Odello from Victory Gundam. Damn you, Tomino! I'll never forgive you for that! Does that one involve a certain helmet that a certain pilot really shouldn't have picked up and looked inside ...
