Re: 1/144 Gerbera Tetra 0083 kit

Its just Testor's dark red thinned and airbrushed on. I still use the cheap paint and have no real problems with it. There's several layers of Future on it, that might be the key. The kit looks great. Nice work. I'm new to painting Gundam models and have couple questions: -I have a Iwata airbrush b...

Acquiring Robotech or watch Macross (Robotech.com)?

Hi all. I have a full set of Macross that I was thinking of opening and watching. I remember when I was a kid watching Robotech and loving that show. I understand that Macross is the true form. If I purchase Robotech in the future is Robotech.com a reputable seller? I would like to acquire all the R...

Unicorn Gundam on dvd in June

Hi all, not sure if this is old news or not, but I just saw that at www.rightstuf.com there is now a listing for Unicorn Gundam arriving in June on dvd. The first dvd is two episodes, about 2 hours. I think it is around $25. I don't know about anyone else but I'm interested in this set because I'm n...

Gundam Unicorn Soundtrack

Anyone pick up this soundtrack? I've only seen episode 1 of this OVA and the soundtrack thus far is amazing. One of the best I've heard from any Gundam show. Very epic and dramatic. I saw on a couple sites that it was near $40 before shipping! Why so expensive?

Re: Detonator Orgun...thoughts or opinions? Is this a good s

Another 90s, slick anime 3 OVA production you should check out (non mecha) is Cyber City Oedo 808, its a full on Madhouse production but also fun to watch http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iqENn2cxjc4/SGqh05qLUWI/AAAAAAAABUM/kcZARAMpb78/s400/cybercityoedo808ir3.jpg I second this! Cyber City Oedo 808 is ama...

Detonator Orgun...thoughts or opinions? Is this a good show?

I actually just stumbled upon a trailer for this show(OVA). I know nothing about it and was hoping someone here could give some insight to the show's plot and give some overall opinions. Thanks

Any new Ghost in the Shell projects in the works?

I have seen the first 2 films as well as the tv series and have yet to see Solid State Society, but was wondering if anyone knows of any additional GITS projects that may be in the works or coming out in the near future.

Re: The Legend of the Galactic Heroes Thread

Forgive me I know nothing of this series. I have to admit I've glanced over several posts on this thread and this series sounds amazing. A grand-epic space opera. Where or when is this being released because I'd love to pick up a copy.

Re: Looking for new anime

Just picked up Votoms...great show...sure it isn't a cheery kind of show but it is a war drama...lots of action. Very well done...old animation doesn't bother me in the least. I love it. Of course, I do like todays animations styles to some shows. Patlabor is an absolute gem as well. The movies have...

Re: Looking for new anime

What kind of "cliches" you want to avoid? For now, I can only think Eureka Seven to recommend. It probably has "cliches" you don't want but at least it's unique by combining surfer culture with mecha. And it has "don't give up" message all over it since it's basically ...

Looking for new anime

Hi all, I'm looking for a new anime to watch or collect. It may be a very narrow search that I'm looking for. Basically, I want to lose most of the anime "cliches". I don't want excessive violence or gore or fanservice...so many shows are ruined by these. It would be great if it was a mech...

Heroic Age thoughts or opinions_DVD extras

Hi all. Gonna retitle this one a bit and try to get some opinions on this series and see if it is worth picking up or passing on. Please provide some opinions if you've seen it. Thanks. Also, does anyone know if either the DVD or Bluray release has more extras on them? I saw the dvd release relative...

Re: Good Mech show recommendations

Had trouble with Full Metal Panic...too much comedy for my taste. I'd rather watch a straight comedy. Also, fanservice is not for me. Love the mech designs though and the animation is good.

Can anyone give more depth on the Getter Robo franchise? More opinions and why it's good or bad?

At CDJapan...there are 2 separate volumes, but only one of the volumes has the full opening and ending song, think it was volume 2...though not sure. Can anyone else confirm?

Re: Good Robot show recommendations

Been watching more Patlabor lately and love it. The TV series and movies are both very well done...the movies (of course) have much better and more superior animation quality but the stories are great in both. The movies have a darker tone than the more comedic tv series but the character developmen...

Any thoughts or opinions on Dairugger XV?

Has anyone seen this show or have any thoughts or opinions on it? Is this "Vechicle Voltron"? I remember seeing 2 versions of voltron as a kid but didn't get to see them all. Finally, picked up all of Lion Voltron and hope to get Go Lion (Japanese original version) and was a little confuse...

Re: Good Robot show recommendations

Yeah, I've seen GITS the series and it is very intellectual for a series which is why I'm torn which one to get (GITS or Getter Robo).

Re: Good Robot show recommendations

Okay, I have the opportunity to purchase either Ghost in the shell season 1 and 2 or Getter Robo Armageddon. Can't get both and I know nothing of the Getter Robo series. I know GITS is not really a robot show but it has some elements. So which one do you recommend getting? Thanks.

Re: Looking for Robot/scifi anime with 5.1 audio if possible

Does anyone know for sure or have the Gurren Lagann complete collection? Is that set 5.1? I keep checking some sites and it just says English and Japanese audio. I do know that when this was series was first released it was sub only so I'm a little confused about which set to look for. Are all the G...
