Re: Gunpla Senshi Gunpla Builders Beginning G

The only reason I'm at all interested in this, and likely the only reason I'll ever be interested in it, is to see that Hi-Nu Gundam in action.

Re: G Gundam Thoughts

Am I the only one who doesn't understand why the Liberty Laser is considered non-serious and a bunch of transforming wind mills in space is better? If anything, a Statue of Liberty replica(remember, the real Statue of Liberty was destroyed by Domon's need for a flashy entrance) being outfitted with...

Re: SD Gundam Sangokuden Discussion Thread

The Chinese names are written in the pictures themselves, before the Mobile Suit names. Ah, I completely missed that. Thanks for pointing it out. I must say even though I'm a pretty big ROTTK fan, I've never been very fond of SD Gundam (outside of G Generation). The animation in this one particular...

Re: SD Gundam Sangokuden Discussion Thread

Any chance you could post these with their original Chinese names? I'm not familiar at all with the Japanese names, and I could take a guess as to who's who, but some of them seem a bit hard to tell.

Not to mention the Asshimar uses heavier, less durable titanium alloy for its armor.

Re: V gundams technology and war tactics

I just finished watching the entire series of V gundam and one of the things that surprised me is now the really violent and mushroom cloud explosion of any MS in the series. Had there been a real large update on the minovksy fusion reactor that both sides of the war mainly preferred to disable the...

Re: Comparison of UC and AD Tech

If a GN beam shot is comparative to a UC shot, the fact that AD gundams can take a number of them (depending on how GN-strengthened their armor is) would mean that AD is superior in every way. Beam shots in general are quite inconclusive. Remember that there are also several times in UC shows where...

Re: Comparison of UC and AD Tech

A very good point to make, but on review you'll note I never said speed or thrust. :P My apologies for the misinterpretation. Although I suppose once vectoring does come into play, there seems to be less of a difference on either end. The 00 is certainly a special case, combining the movable thrust...

Re: Comparison of UC and AD Tech

Most all other Gundam series go with the 'rocket on back to fly forward', and focus on that. Mobility is usually measured by how quickly a mobile suit can turn around and face it's back pact in the proper direction. Lateral drift, let alone flying backwards, is almost unheard of, and yet it's a sta...

Re: Tallgeese's Speed

I think the reason the term "three times" was pulled up there was an obvious homage to char. Who Zechs is the archetype for. There for the fact that that in and of itself was mentioned shouldn't have any relevance to this particular question. So what if Zechs didn't pilot anything remotel...

Re: Comparison of UC and AD Tech

This is just speculation but, I'm more inclined to believe that GN particles reduce the overall weight of the mobile suit, rather than the mass. Since mass can neither be created nor destroyed, only converted to energy, the show doesn't seem to answer the question of how the MS's mass is converted ...

Re: Tallgeese's Speed

Well, Zechs seems to be handling those maneuvers, and the only time Zechs pushed those super verniers to their limits is when he did that linear charge, thus the rib-breaking. Plus, it's actually more surprising that the linear acceleration at full throttle of the Tallgeese did more damage to Zechs...

Re: Tallgeese's Speed

But in episode 9, Zechs was accelerating in a straight line towards the Alliance base, which made Zechs break his ribs and puke blood, not the crazy maneuvers Zechs was pulling out. :| You need to consider all the factors involved here. Even if Zechs did sustain his injuries during that scene, it i...

Re: Comparison of UC and AD Tech

Probably not the best of comparisons... But at least in the situations depicted, the Qubeley's beam launchers appear to be slightly more powerful than the GN-X's beam rifle. I wouldn't encourage anyone of trying to quantify the exact yield of the weapons or use these as standards for such compariso...

Re: Questions regarding the Amakusa.

One interesting trait the machine had was its size. It was a fair bit larger than other mobile suits at the time, and had the same head height of the RX-78-2. In fact, the machine itself has a relatively archaic design, with backpack thrusters that look like they were pulled from the hi-nu. Although...

Re: Tallgeese's Speed

Then how come jet pilots could withstand 5Gs of acceleration in a jet cockpit without their ribs breaking? And sometimes even going beyond that. A jet isn't nearly as advanced as a mobile suit. :| Fighter planes and mobile suits operate quite differently and typically serve completely different pur...

Re: Tallgeese's Speed

But I heard from somewhere that in the Japanese dub, the leo pilot says something different like the enemy suit is pulling out 8G maneuvers or something like that. That's how I took the statement when I first heard it, since the Taurus was zipping around with incredible speed and doing so in very f...

Re: Tallgeese's Speed

I shouldn't drag on too long on this tangent, but I just wanted to say that Wing's stat system isn't really worth considering at all. It's not measurable, it's not calculated, it doesn't reflect any of what happened in the series. Well, I think that issue falls on official Gundam statistics in gene...

Re: Comparison of UC and AD Tech

In UC, I don't know of any MS before the V2 that can hover, though I haven't seen any UC after char's counterattack. I'm not sure about hovering, but aside from several transformable MS, the Byalant can maintain atmospheric flight thanks to its thermonuclear jet thrusters. The Dijeh has similar thr...

Re: Tallgeese's Speed

I'm not really sure you can compare the Taurus to just any TMS/TMA from Zeta. Around the time when the Tauruses first appear, in one scene 5 Taurus mobile dolls attack a Alliance colony garrison. The Leo pilots remark at the Tauruses' performance, and one mentions that the Taurus pulls an astoundin...
