Fantastic game, just finished it. Great gameplay mechanics, I loved the sheer level of interactivity with the wiimote. But strafing didn't seem to be nearly as effective as it was in the first two games. I liked the stackable weapon system, and switching between visors was a lot easier. If there's o...

Like a few other people here, I started out watching the Super Adventure Block, back when Robotech and Gatchaman were on the Cartoon Network. I got into Tokusatsu first though, with Gridman, VR Troopers, and Power Rangers, which aired around the same time. Didn't really get into anime until DBZ (nev...

But on the other hand, Tomino directed Turn A Gundam, which acknowledges the existence of almost every non-Tomino animated work. If we count Turn A as part of the Tomino-authored "canon," then his list of approved works ends up looking a lot like Sunrise's, even if his interview comments ...

Ooooh, I have some fond memories of that show. That's from back in the days of the Super Adventure Block, before we had Toonami. Good ol' G-Force; what first got me into anime.

Anyone ever played the SNES game? It's not nearly as radical as the show, but hey, it's better than Bubsy.

Just downloaded Marathon: Durandal. Multiplayer is fantastic. The only thing that I'm irritated about is that the rockets don't fly nearly as fast as they do in Doom, and one achivement in particular is insanely difficult to get: beating the highest difficulty using only your fists. I'm glad that I ...

What Tomino Considers Canon

Incidentally, the term "canon" is probably unhelpful here. The term has no Japanese equivalent, and the Japanese staff generally talk about what's "official" instead. -- Mark That's true. I asked Tomino what he considered "canon" when it comes to Gundam, and the transl...

Zanac ranks among one of my favorite shooters. I also like Galaga, Twinbee, and Parodius, among many, many others.

The game looks like it has a steep learning curve. Either that or the guy I was watching couldn't play the game worth jack.

There's a version of the Elmeth that I saw the other day, and it looked really neat. It looks like it was drawn by Toru Nakayama, character designer for Rockman Zero. I found it on a board the other day, but the link 404'd.

Anybody have this?

I'd like to see a Metroid movie. It would be neat if someone like James Cameron got on board and worked on it!

No hover-type legs in AC4 either; it'd be kind of redundant if they had 'em.

I really think the Wii's gonna come out on top. The price of the hardware and (1st party) software is very attractive. And the fact that the controller is essentially a remote may draw a largely untapped market. Plus, there's the virtual console. Here in the states, I'm guessing that the 360's going...

I plan on getting a Wii, not just because of price, but upcoming titles such as Twilight Princess and Corruption look amazing, and the virtual console seems promising. I might not get one right away, though, cause that trip to Chicago drained my funds. I should have enough cash next year, though!

Still, the issue with having no air in space would make it hard to use the wings to aid in better manuverability. The best reason I could think of, besides cosmetics, would be that they also work as moveable shields to free up the hands for wielding more weapons at one time. Actually, they could be...

Well, in defense of Cold Man, his body's always near absolute zero, so he can't really move that much.

OH! I just remembered another one. Divinegon, from Dragon Quest III. Beating him the first time was tough enough, but beating him under 15 turns? MADNESS!

Yeah, Omega's not fun in ZX, either.

The Metroid Prime series has some of the most agonizing boss fights. Emperor Ing, especially. I'm not used to beam weapons with limited ammunition in Metroid!

And that reminds me, in Corruption, you stack beams; no more switching.

In a sense, yeah. But there's no real consequence for getting a poor rank like there is in the Zero series, you just need to work a bit harder for your OI bar to go up.

Just finished Xenosaga III, and I just picked up Rockman ZX. Big improvment over the Zero series; it lacks a ranking system.
