Re: Aile or Sword Calamity?

Sorry, I meant heavy bombardment. The manual say its issue is to adapting artillery-focus unit into flyable.

Re: Aile or Sword Calamity?

Bump. Because Aile Calamity's gunpla manual reveals some fun bit. 1. Supposedly, the original idea of Calamity was to made three variants based on the first three striker packs. But Azrael demanded heavy bombardment unit and so that one rolled out first (notice that Rena's Sword Calamity actually ha...

Re: Railgun Type Weapons

Fun trivia.

In Mika Akitaka's MS Girl Note, Gundam has her hyper bazooka upgraded to rail gun with G-3 armor. Guncannon also has rail guns from start.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever got translated detail about this series.

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Well, I actually like the show so far and regardless of its flaw, the plot hook about Aerial's secret is interesting enough.

Plus, Kazama Iroha's reaction to the show is very hilarious.

Re: Railgun Type Weapons

For whatever reason, railguns were relatively rare in the mecha genre until the mid-90's and kind of faded into obscurity again at the end of the 2000's. Almost every Earth mecha was armed with railguns in the Macross II: Lovers Again OVA (1992), they're mentioned in passing in Turn A Gundam and a ...

Re: Railgun Type Weapons

Think about it, I think the first animate MS equipped with rail cannon (not counting the shot lancer) seems to be Gozzo from Turn A Gundam, and no other suit use it. When the Earth Militia modified it into Godwin , they naturally don't have such weapon and replace it with a mundane cannon (the offic...

Re: Railgun Type Weapons

Probably worth to note that aside of Dainslef, all Pluma (Hashmal's lackeys) are also equipped with a railgun, and Bael has electromagnetic gun in its binders. As McGillis notes, l railgun shooting normal ammo is still legal, if borderline, weapon. So the last UC mobile suit armed with railgun is La...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

It's been confirmed that, as of the start of the 2nd half, Delling is still alive 2 weeks after the Quetta incident & is currently at the Benerit Group HQ with Miorine. It must get awkward when she receives those three daily e-mails. Would be cool if we see Mirione space out and Suletta snaps h...

Re: Railgun Type Weapons

Note that the Zeon Remnants are surprised by the range of Atlas' railgun. IIRC, the dialogue suggest that sniping from that distance is impossible with beam weapon (under atmosphere, I guess, it should be doable in space). Of course, it's Thunderbolt. So it might doesn't matter at all... BTW, from F...

The gunpla manual say it's a beam gatling gun.

One sad and ironic part of EXAM is that it's noted how Moses was like a father figure to Marion at first (mentioned in the illustrator's comment of the old manga, and there's Marion's flashback in EXA manga).

Mermaid is especially interesting in that, according to an article on Gundaminfo, Neo Denmark made several aquatic/amphibious MF during ots development, also acquire some of older MF like Kappa Gundam from Neo Japan and Gundam Octopus from Neo Greece. One have to wonder what were they thinking.

Re: zeta gundam overrated?

He does have one Sunrise producer credit... on CROSS ANGE: Rondo of Angel and Demon . Minor correction; it's Dragons (and in this setting it stand for Dimensional Rift Attuned Gargantuan Organic Neototypes, it's Fukuda's work after all), not demons. (and I'm mildly surprised that we don't have a se...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Mecha Thread Mk I

Zowort is out, and nothing much of revelation. It's what you expected from a mass produce flying MS, lightly armored (but noted to be top-heavy) and lightly armed. That being said, we're likely learn a lot more about it when Zowort Heavy is out. One gimmick Zowort has is two hard points on its back....

Re: Ships in the UC?

For non-official POV, G Generation Series usually portray Zamouth Garr (F91) and Adrastea (Victory) as the most powerful battleships in UC era. Outside of the games, we sadly don't known much about the Zamouth Garr other than that it's indeed powerful (and likely outclass every ship at the time). To...

Well, it work for Toei (with both Kamen Rider and Super Senta)i. There's actually one big continuity ongoing, with crossover and character from older show show up from time to time, but the shows are mostly stand alone in nature.

Re: zeta gundam overrated?

I think the only setting they keep it going on aside from UC, albeit rarely animate, is SD Gundam Gaiden (although there was long pause after W). It help that the setting has pretty loose continuity with multiverse and such. But of course, SD is always a sideshow and never the main attraction by its...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Have I missed something? Is this the first time we’ve had this in a Gundam show? Not counting SD nor non-animated works, the first is probably Devil Gundam. Then, at lesser degree, Turn A and Turn X. 00 Quanta also becomes sentient by fused with ELS. And recently we have Graze Ein and Kimaris Vidar...
