Re: Development of the Biosensor and Psycommu

Evolve seems to be the only place the Chakra Laboratory is mentioned, it doesn't have any other info on Gundam Wiki. It apparently was an AEUG/Karaba lab before going rogue, though it was never mentioned in the anime.

The Irish Class?

So the Gundam wiki mentions that an Irish class ship painted white appears in Gundam Narrative; I've seen the movie a few times and don't remember it, does it appear in a brief cameo (Like the GM Quel usually does) or is it part of a bigger scene?

Re: Mecha anime from childhood

After doing some research on forums it may be Yamato Takeru. It's a fairly obscure series that aired on Saturday evenings in 1994, and a number of people remember watching it as kids. The main character is imprisoned in a cage by the Village Elders in the first episode for his rambunctious behavior,...

Re: Development of the Biosensor and Psycommu

The early part of Evolve seems to be mini side stories that can actually fit in the main cannon, the later ones not so much. We get an alternate version of CCA, a post ZZ mini battle, and the Strike Gundam making impossible maneuvers amongst other things. Evolve 9 focuses on Amuro, side story charac...

Re: Gundam General Audience?

Thanks it helps to put it in perspective. Plus Gundam came as the Anime fandom was growing so it makes sense there would have been people watching all this time.

Re: What defines Mass Production?

Makes sense, especially because the ships are relatively smaller by the time of late UC; The Pegasus class could understandably hold a lot of units; ships half its size understandably would hold much left. Also even bigger ships like the Adrastea have smaller hangers.

Constructed Languages.

So a lot of anime Sci-Fi (and Sci-Fi in general) uses a made up language for alien characters. Space Battleship Yamato has the Garmillas Language; Macross has the Zentradi language and Macross II has the Mardook Language, DBZ has Namekian amongst others etc,). Often it varies from source to source; ...

Re: What defines Mass Production?

That makes sense as most of the wars are kinda smaller afterwards (though the Gryps Conflict seems like it would be bigger). Is there any info on the MS to Ship/Ship numbers in the Zanscare war? I remember reading somewhere it was considered the biggest war since the OYW.

Glory of the Losers?

So how exactly does the manga hold up? Is it worth checking out? Is anything new or different added to the storyline from the anime, or is it just a retelling with some minor changes?

Re: What defines Mass Production?

Really when you look at it the scale of many UC wars should be relatively the same. They often involve a faction fighting against the Earth Government, over a period of weeks or months across several battlegrounds. They are often somewhat evenly match in terms of soldiers, if not technology. For ins...

Re: What defines Mass Production?

There doesn't seem to be an exact number; but I'd assume easily in the hundreds, perhaps even the thousands. The Zaku II appears for decades after the OYW, despite their heavy losses during said war. There's probably more of them than of any other mass produced unit. Also the quick development for t...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

With Gundam series who knows? though I hope Witch from Mercury has that as a premise. There are other Sunrise shows that have real robot battles on a galactic level. Heavy Metal L-Gaim is centered around battles across a fictional solar system, as is Armored Trooper Votoms. L-Gaim as a series probab...

Re: Hair Colors in Anime

Its always a little odd when a work only gives some members of the cast unnatural hair colors, and the majority have normal hair colors. You can see this in CCA where Quess's Teal hair really stands out amongst almost every other character(some print versions give Quess blonde hair), likewise with C...

Re: Gundam General Audience?

Totally I watched it for the first time as a kid, and a lot of the deeper themes went over my head(Al's issues with his home life, Chris and Bernie becoming his surrogate parents/sibling almost). I also thought it dealt with the war message a lot better than IBO did. IBO was relentlessly brutal from...

Re: Gundam General Audience?

You really can see that in the Gundam OVA's(at least in the late 80's to 90's UC); something about them does give off a more "mature" vibe, not just in content, but also in mech and character designs. Granted all the anime had different character designers(and there's nothing wrong with the other de...

Re: Tytania Ships?

True, the story started off strong; but the animation was poor, the story began to drag, and it had no real ending because the novels weren't finished. Although apparently the novel series was finished 7 years after the anime was, in 2015.

Re: Gundam General Audience?

Yeah sorry I totally forgot how negative Otaku really was; and in outside fandoms it's probably pretty split between people appropriating the insult, and not knowing/forgetting what it means. As Mythsearcher mentioned :and I've read in a few places "Otaku" as a term originated in Macross, which came...

Re: Gundam General Audience?

Sorry I forgot the words negative connotations; I meant it basically as anime fan(Otaku kinda gets that usage outside Japan in anime fandom), but now I remember it's original term as obsessed over a specific subject(not just anime).
