What was the first Real Robot series to make it North America?
So what exactly was the first "Real Robot" series to make it to airwaves in North America? I know shows began being imported in the 80s (including the infamous Robotech debacle), so how many were released and when? Or was Robotec the closest thing to imported mech anime? I wondered because the Battl...

The Frontier Side?
So what exactly happened to the Frontier side following the end of the Crossbone Vanguard war? According to details elsewhere (SPOILERS) Meitzer loses his postion and narrowly avoids being tried for wars crimes before dying of old age, after which the new Crossbone Resistance is formed by Cecily(Ber...

Re: Kira attending military prep school?
I really don't know Japanese well enough to translate if the subtitles were off, but it does seem to contradict the earlier story material. In the first episode we see Kira and Athrun talking beneath Sakura petals as kids; Kira is wearing a futuristic Gakuran ,while Athrun is in a quasi military uni...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?
Mikimoto was the character designer, while Kazumi Fujita (Zeta Gundam, ZZ) did the mechanical designs.
As for the Zeorymer manga it's fairly intense in content (it was originally a Hentai) that actually had some of its more graphic content toned down in the OVA.

Toei-AIC partnership.
So now it seems that Toei and AIC are now joint owners of some old-school Mecha Anime( Bubblegum Crisis,Zeorymer, Dangaioh,Megazone, etc), also apparently they are going to make more content for these existing franchises. So what does everyone think? Do you think they'll remake/add new content or ju...

Re: F91's Jegans deployment year
This is often a problem with retcons; as information added later to an earlier part of the timeline contradicts earlier works (Ie the Gustav Karl was at first only seen in the Hathways Flash novels, The Jesta in the Unicorn ones, etc) in fact this has happened a lot in Gundam before… However there i...

Re: Legendary live-action Gundam movie news
Well hopefully it turns out well. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is apparently a Gundam fan (and his Twitter seems to support this). Plus Legendary did great work on the Pacific Rim films; so at the very least they will look much better than G-Saviour, hopefully the story works out as well...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?
Zeorymer is a great series, it sorta seems like a Proto-EVA (yes I realize the concept existed long before that). They thankfully toned down (most) of the more extreme scenes from the manga. So we’re left with a very dark take on the Super Robot themes(Ie Teenage Heroes, Quirky band of villains with...

Re: Big West and HG strike deal! Macross is free!
I hope we get all of the Macross Anime on Blu-ray/DVD, the manga and video games we might not get. Even with basically every Gundam animated property being released and imported, we still haven't got all of the side story manga and video games, though to be fair some of the video games are quite old...

Side 4 and The Federation
So how exactly is the Moore (Mua?) Brotherhood in Thunderbolt connected to the Federation? Its stated that they are made up of "Volunteers" from Side 4 who want to retake their homeland; so are they a official part of the Federation, or a loose alliance like the AEUG and Karaba? Everyone wears Feder...

Earth Federation Uniform?
Do different uniforms signify different ranks in the Earth Federation? Aside from Bright(and the other Pre Enlisted personnel) everyone else on the White Base has uniforms that look completely different from any other series in the Universal Timeline(A variant appears in CCA but they're part of a ta...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?
Would Dai Guard count? It's a Super Robot parody Anime; that manages to work both in being funny, and also have some great actions scenes. Basically it's about a group of Salarymen piloting a public security company giant robot against invading monsters, and they end up spending more time fighting b...

Was Fuala always a Newtype?(SPOILERS)
In Victory Gundam Fulala starts off as a frontline commander, but doesn't pilot a mobile suit. After she saved from being executed she's assigned to pilot several Newtype units. Was Fuala always a Newtype, or was she made an Artificial Newtype? if so why exactly? it didn't seem as though she had pre...

Differences between Mobile Suits
How different do you think mobile suit types are? do you think a MS Pilot could operate most units? I know that some units are specially designed for Newtypes(or whatever variant an Alternate Universe has) but what about the rest of the mainline mass production units(ie Heavy Mobile Suits, Combat Mo...

Re: Gundam AGE/X timeline question?
Honestly the idea behind tying every timeline together is actually pretty interesting, but it really falls apart when you actually try to merge all these very different stories together. Not only would there be an extremely long period of time for multiple Moonlight Butterfly apocalypses(we'd be tal...

Gundam AGE/X timeline question?
Are Gundam AGE and Gundam X meant to be completely in their own timeline, Or are they implied to be a future of the Universal Century? Of all the other alternate universes it just seems as though these two could more easily fit with the Universal Century. In most alternate universes Gundams are stat...

Re: How long can Space Colonies/Lunar Cities last?
Another factor is the timeline of the Universal/Reguild Century (this is going to get confusing). As Turn A Gundam showcases all of the different timelines of Gundam are tied in together (somehow). If you take that into account then the colonies could have all been destroyed and then rebuilt in an a...

Re: Why didn't Zeon just clone Char?
Well to be fair someone did finally clone Char ( though it was 100 years later in a story that is not considered canon). It is sort of odd though that cloning in general completely disappears by the end of the first Universal Century. You’d think such a game changer would be better utilized than it ...

Re: How long can Space Colonies/Lunar Cities last?
That makes sense that the colonies would actually need constant repair like any infrastructure; come to think of it some of the mobile suits do have colony repair properties: For instance the Sandhoge from Victory Gundam, plus in F91 Seabook's father works as a welder working on the outside of the c...

How long can Space Colonies/Lunar Cities last?
Are Space Colonies/Lunar Cities supposed to be permanent settlements, or are they only temporary (in relative terms) settlements? The Hathway's Flash trailer shows a number of in universe news articles dealing with the Federation and colony issues, one of which says that older colonies are showing s...
