Ceremonial Zaku?

So in Gundam Thunderbolt Bandit Flower, there is a scene toward the beginning where the Federation is fighting Zeon inside the asteroid base. During this time we see some Zaku's that seem to have ceremonial decorations on them. Is their any information on what these units are called?

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Mecha Thread Mk I

Nice to see more technical worldbuilding being revealed. It seems like the tech in the mechs started from work with artificial limbs, so it seems a bit like a cross between Gundam Thunderbolt and IBO with some of the concepts. Also interesting that the name Gundam in this series is because of a port...

Core Fighter Power?

So individually, how powerful would the Core Fighters be in battle? They seem way more powerful than the Saberfish and Tin Cod: and definitely outclassed the Dopp in battle, but how would they hold up in battle against regular MS?

Re: Jaburo History?

Maybe it was some kind of remote fortress or command center (like Greenbrier Bunker or NORAD, or something). Like if the worst case scenario happened , it was a underground city the Federation government could flee to. Then when the outbreak of war occurred it was decided that Jaburo was the best lo...

Re: The Dijeh in Space?

That would explain the lack of a custom color until later, indeed most of Amuro's later units in side stories seem to follow the Grey and Red/Purple colors, like the Rick Dijeh, Hi Nu Gundam, and some versions of the Nu Gundam itself. Also going by the original timeline of just the Anime, Amuro does...

CE and Astray?

So not to start a whole canon debate again, but what exactly is the status of the Astray series in the greater CE? Is it Canon? Do you think it's possible that we could see some of the units or characters(there's quite a number of both) in the SEED movie? we do see some variants of units in the anim...

Re: Jaburo History?

Then it probably was a relatively new base at the time of the OYW, especially when you consider the fact that tensions would have likely been brewing for quite a number of years before the outbreak of hostilities. Plus Jaburo is more than just a manufacturing facility, it's the command center for a ...

Re: The Dijeh in Space?

That explains why the unit looked so similar. Again it actually seems a bit more plausible to retcon a character with another existing unit, than to try and add a technologically advanced unit earlier into a timeline(there are too many examples to list in the OYW, however there's also the units seen...

Re: The Dijeh in Space?

True, when you look at the the more Science Fantasy angle of stories like Narrative and to a degree Turn A Gundam, Gigantis story doesn't seem that outlandish, even if Hasagawa claimed it to be non-canon. Especially when you compare it with Hasagawa's other UC works like Crossbone, which themselves ...

Jaburo History?

So is it ever explained when exactly Jaburo was built? Was it built at the start of the Universal Century? Or was it built in the UC 70's? The only informative I can easily find is in the Origin(which falls into the whole manga/anime canon thing) which seems to indicate that Jaburo is fairly new, or...

Re: The Dijeh in Space?

So were there any MSV or Spinoff Manga in the 80's (not exactly cannon, but still) that showed Amuro's activities during the First Neo-Zeon War? Or was this first explored in Gundam Evolve?

The Dijeh in Space?

So how well could the Dijeh operate in outer space? We mostly see it on the ground in official material(Amuro fights with it in Africa, Later he uses a modified version in space colony in a spin off manga, the Lucio Company Dijeh are shown fighting in the Midwest in Narrative). However Amuro has his...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Mecha Thread Mk I

That being said the Gund technology seems way less gruesome than the AV system from IBO. At this point is there anymore information on what exactly the Gund System is or what it requires? I agree with Sonic and it's AV vibes (there's every a protest sign that says Gund System killed the protester's ...

Re: How powerful was the Hyaku Shiki?

I seem to remember an episode where Mouar severely damaged the Hyaku Shiki. It seems it lost an arm and had it's back unit damaged. So maybe it really is the result of powerful foes fighting each other. Mouar was easily one of the better pilots in the Titans, and compared to people like Yazan, one o...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

That could be the case. Especially when you consider (SPOILERS) Sulettea is the orphaned daughter of rebels. I doubt a school run by the Power Blocs her parents opposed would be to keen on having her there if they knew her true identity(for a similar example, just look what Slaine is put through in ...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Mecha Thread Mk I

Right , sorry I forgot about the Earth recovering, which makes sense after 300 years. Indeed what we see of the Earth in the series looks very nice and fully recovered. Its been a while since I've seen the show, so I can't remember if there was a limited population allowed on Earth like in previous ...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Especially because the plot is more serious than it seemed at first with the school setting. I wonder if it will be something like Mai-Hime with the school and battles giving way to a full scale conflict.

Re: How powerful was the Hyaku Shiki?

For some reason the Hyaku Shiki always seemed as though it suited Char/Quattro the best, as the custom units often seem specialized to the just the pilot, particularly if they are a Newtype. That being said the Hyaku Shiki was something of a testbed for experimental weaponry, which may explain why i...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Mecha Thread Mk I

Thanks for the upload. It's interesting to see how contemporary technology is utilized in Sci Fi. It seems a bit like earlier Sunrise show AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline, wherein there is largely drone combat, yet the main characters in all factions pilot their own machines, sometimes with the help...

Re: How powerful was the Hyaku Shiki?

Agreed, I always thought the Hyaku Shiki Golden coating looked kind of cheesy, granted that's because the series is from 1985 and had a tv budget, so they had to make due with coating it in an odd bright yellow. The SUMO from Turn A, The Unicorn Phenex from Narrative and Akatsuki from Seed Destiny a...
