Re: Time Needed to Finish a Space Colony

Given the circumstances it seems as though colony construction probably happens quicker that would practically happen in real life(maybe 3-5 years?). If they were six colony clusters with forty colonies each( Side 7 was the newest), then that would equate to roughly 240 colonies across the Earth Sph...

Re: Gundam Age 10th anniversary speculation

Well they did make Memory of Eden...but I'm not sure where they could go with the story, or how profitable it would be.

Re: Air Cavalry Chronicles

Thanks that makes alot of sense story wise. I read a Kawamori interview about Advanced Valkyrie where it says: Kawamori wanted to move on from Macross (this was as early as 1985), and the story outline really is like Macross Plus(ie character driven with only a few battles). Also two of the fighters...

Air Cavalry Chronicles

Is their any information out there on this series? It was a "Design" Series, but was there a story that was written for it? The factions names are later used in the Vision of Escaflowne; and the mecha themselves appear to be a hybrid between the Macross style, and what would later be seen in Escaflo...

Re: SRW anime or video games?

Thanks for the info. I'll admit that I found the first series storyline very straightforward. However the second becomes easier to follow once all of the characters are introduced. I agree that there is a lot of original content to adapt to SRW anime (and the games seem very popular, plus it's alway...

SRW anime or video games?

Is it possible to watch the Super Robot Wars Anime's without being familiar with any of the games? There are a lot of games that go back over 20 years, and I'm not sure how many were exported. The Anime introduces many characters and seemingly a number of different plot threads from various games, S...

Re: Kou uraki after 0083?

It is kinda odd that we never see any of the characters from side stories again. Granted aside from Kou And Christina there's not that many who would still be in the military come later wars. I know many of the side stories came out after the series their tied to, but they could still cameo in newer...

Re: Axis Zeon, iconography, and popular support

The dimension I noticed is that in addition to the OYW refernces a few suits have a quasi Knight theme(though not as much as say Panzer World Galient), which still follows some of the OYW Zeon designs (ie the Gyan), as well as modelling their group structure on a rather loose adaptation of Medieval ...

Re: α-Azieru (SPOILERS)

That is actually the Röte Doga which shares a color scheme; According to the Gundam Wiki (I know, but they cite a Hobby Japan article.) it also served as a bridge between the three year old Geara Doga, and the Newtype customized Jagd Doga. It was used as stopgap as Char awaited the Sazabi's completi...

Cloning (SPOILERS)

It seems odd that something as game changing as Cloning sees so little use in UC. Zeon apparently perfected Newtype cloning, but why are they the only ones to use it? Many people tried to clone Char, so why did nobody in years to come try to clone Amuro? Granted the Federation both fears and hates N...

Re: Gelgoog Successors?

It is sort of strange that Zeon seems to ignore some of their more powerful units(at least outside of sidestories). The Gelgoog was actually the most powerful of Zeon's mast produced MS. Likewise several Neo Zeon MS never seem to get improved upon in the Second Neo Zeon conflict. The Zaku III , Bawo...

Re: Gundam foils and the drive to heroism

Agreed the writing in ZZ can be very inconsistent at times. Haman starts out as a cold and calculating misanthrope, who because of her (rather vague, at least in the anime) backstory feels that tyranny is the only way to lead the world. Come ZZ her "schemes" include sending a bunch of morons with wea...

α-Azieru (SPOILERS)

As has been discussed before Char's Neo Zeon had a smaller force and less state of the art mobile suits than Haman's did. Since their forces were so small who was originally going to pilot the α-Azieru? Quess only joined their movement a week before the wars end after all.Given how Char was at first...

Gundam Novels and Manga

I know that most Gundam series have a tie in Manga and sometimes (Especially with Tomino) a Novelization(many of which never get translated). Given how long the series tend to run, how much changes in the adaptation? It seems like some stuff would have to be cut down to fit Novels (though the chapte...

Re: Gundam Age Original Plan?

Being a video game originally actually makes a lot of sense.(SPOILERS) as Chris noted in the review of the last episode the last threat is more of a final boss than a character. Which is a shame really as many video games can still have very long in depth plots, FWIW I still think AGE is action pack...

Re: Mecha Anime Demographics?

In the 80s it seemed like they could get away with more. Gundam had some rather violent content as did DBZ amongst others, and a fair amount of shows even in the Shonen demographic got away with uncensored nudity on television. I know that for a variety of real life reasons anime was censored increa...

Gundam Age Original Plan?

According to a few sources (That claim to link to a Newtype article) Gundam Age was originally supposed to be aired over a year and a half. At approximately 78 episodes that would have been the longest single Gundam series, and probably longer than most other Real Robot genre series(Only Dougram at ...

Re: Mobile Suits Scaling

Also F91 and Victory are shown to have scaled down the size of the mecha slightly. The v Gundam from CCA is 23 meters tall, while both the F91 and Victory stand at 15 meters tall. Granted this is still over ten feet taller than the Knightmare Frames and Scopedogs. Oddly this is the only time in the ...

MSV and Zeta Gundam

Is it true that the MSV model variation series started out life as a proposed sequel to the original series? If it is true is there any information as to what the original story of the sequel that may have become MSV was supposed to be?
