Seems only the most popular series have suits in Versus Games so far. For instance, MS Igloo hasn't had any additions since the first release of Extreme Versus

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Rather than just the popular series, SD Gundam aside, ALL of the animated series plus Igloo have gotten a playable unit in the Extreme Vs. Just nothing from Gunpla Builders and Build Fighters... I don't know why... Atleast MS Igloo got 2 playable units and the Big Rang as a boss only unit. Hell... the PERFECT Gundam got in Full Boost... and that is the precursor to Gunpla Builders and Build Fighters!

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

If I'm correct, MS Igloo was dropped in Maxi Boost and onwards

I did say that Igloo didn't get any ADDITIONS though so considering that Build Fighters is only popular with a subset of Gundam fans that Sunrise probably doesn't think will play arcade games then that's likely the reason.

Frankly, I can't think of many interesting unique suits from Build Fighters that would serve as more than just a variant to an existing suit. They probably don't want to create a new tier for suits which will essentially be variants

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Oh... I didn't know they got rid of MS Igloo units for Maxi Boost... we'll see if they bring them back for the new Vs Gundam game... Maybe even add the Assault Guntank from Igloo 2... some units from Gundam vs Gundam have yet to return like Guntank, Dom, Guncannon, Kampfer, Gedlav, Vigna Ghina Gundam Virtue and the Hamma Hamma

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

what?

they've never gotten rid of any units in the Extreme Vs set of games.

Hildolfr is even top tier for 1.5ks along with Puru Qubeley Mk II, and you can see the Zudah on the list too.

http://exvsrank.ninja-x.jp/exvsmo_15.html

Now with Gundam Versus being seemingly a renewal title (like GVGNext > Extreme Vs) I imagine that we can't really count on units being ported directly from maxi on > Gundam Versus.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Oops, my mistake. I didn't check the roster on the official site.

My point still stands though - the least popular shows haven't had any additional suits added.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

It seems that after the Psycho Zaku, the next addition to Maxi ON will be the Kimaris Trooper from IBO Season 1.

I wonder if the Kimaris Trooper can switch to the regular/space version...

A few more units confirmed: Guncannon, Sinanju, Wing Zero (TV), Tallgeese I, and Exia. The bottom-right image shows some Full Armor MS, but I can't tell if it's the ZZ, Unicorn, or possibly the FA-78-1.

New info and images!

General info:
-As you can see, the interface has been simplified a bit. One big change is that you can now see your partner's health.
-It's mentioned that there's a new button in the Alpha build, simply called "SP". This button is used to perform some of the new functions in this game. In terms of a standard fight stick, the SP button is the far right button on the top row (8 in that picture, while Shoot, Fight, and Boost are 5-7); in terms of a Playstation controller, SP is mapped to the R1 button.
-Boost Dive, which is the ability to perform a quick downwards boost (like Tallgeese had in previous games). It can be used as a boost cancel, and can even be used out of a boost dash. Boost Dive is performed by pressing Boost + SP.
-Strikers are the replacement for Assists from past games; as in Gundam vs Gundam, everyone has access to them. Everyone has access to two Strikers, which are selected from a pool of supporting machines from throughout the franchise, including the GM, Ball, Thunderbolt GM, Taurus (OZ and Sanc Kingdom versions) and Graze Custom "Ryusei-go". All Strikers will be marked with either "Shooting" or "Fighting" which gives you an idea of what kind of attack they'll perform. This of course means that attack buttons which were taken up by Assists in ExVs are now free for other attacks.
-The cost system has been revamped again. Each team has 1000 points, and there are four tiers: 500, 400, 300, and 200. Cost Over is still implemented.
200: (Nothing in the Alpha build)
300: Guncannon, Gouf, Exia, Kyrios, Barbatos
400: Gundam, Tallgeese, FA Gundam (Thunderbolt)
500: Nu Gundam, Unicorn, Sinanju, Wing Zero (TV)
-Awakenings are changed again. We have Blaze Gear, which enhances melee power but doesn't last very long, and Lightning Gear, which enhances ranged attacks and lasts longer. It seems that activating an Awakening will affect your partner as well; they get their Boost Gauge refilled, and Lightning Gear buffs their reload rate as well.
-The author says that the game's speed feels closer to Full Boost on PS3 than it does Maxi Boost ON. Rather than viewing it as slow, he figured it made things easier to handle.

Character specifics:
-Guncannon has its standard weapons (beam rifle, cannons), the hand grenades seen in the MG model, and yes, its boulder throw from GvG. The BR doesn't have a lot of ammo, so you have to use the cannons and boulder to save some "bullets".
-Kyrios is described as a good general-purpose machine for 300 points. It has its GN beam submachine gun, hand missile units, can transform and advance while shooting, attack by ramming, and play support for allies.
-Tallgeese is described as being simple and easy to use. It seems fairly close to its GvG incarnation with the dobergun, beam saber, missile pod, and a spin/barrel roll move.
-Unicorn's Destroy Mode seems to have changed a bit. It has an attack where it powers up the beam saber and sweeps it left to right.
-Exia's Special Shooting has it dock with the GN Arms and fire a large beam.

Teaser trailer for the Baund Doc. Note that, unlike every single other teaser in the ExVs series, this one ends with the MS's defeat pose rather than its win pose.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Has anyone gotten in on the Japanese beta?

Megatrons2nd: The last one was an Asia release with English subtitles so you should have that option since the Ps4 is region free.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

A closed beta has started for Gundam Versus; registration is on Japanese PSN, but the response has been so massive that they'll probably end up having to raffle off the slots.

In other words, don't hold your breath.
